I believe warranty is the main issue, main reason why there are people willing to pay that large sum of $.. If u were to buy SG sets, ull needa pay like RM150 for transportation fees to send it back there if u were to claim warranty....

Even if you factor in RM150 for transportation and warranty claim, it's still cheaper getting the SG set. Remember the commitment fee of RM100 per month for 12-months and the phone itself is sold for RM1,900 (8GB version). The only plus point I can see is the free data transfer of 500MB but is it for 12 months or only first 6 months?

But it's 150 EACH time you were to claim warranty or even send for repair if there's anything leh....i feel long term, somehow it's quite reasonable...thus far, eyeing on the 60 bucks plan, 6 months commitment...

For 12 month contract

RM100 monthly commitment after minus minutes for calls, you should pay around RM50 for 'sewa'

RM50 x 12 = RM600

RM600 + RM1900 = RM2500

You pay RM2500 for iPhone.

RM50 = 333 mins domestic voice call + 500mb data, excluded sms, video call, roaming, IDD.

How often does your phone gets faulty? If you claim once in a year then it's considered terrible so if it's a few times in a year, might as well just sell it off or keep it somewhere. I'm just speaking based on my experiences with phones for the past 12 years using all sorts of Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, etc.

SG iPhone set + local telco plan FTW!

Can switch anytime due to MNP and also not tied down by the RM100 fixed plan...

What's up Maxis?
Am really dissapointed with these overpriced plans. The sms and call rates much higher than th current value plan. The price of the phone ain't exactly cheap either.

To be honest I didn't expect the plans to be discussed in so great detail. Anyone actually getting it? I mean, we waited so long to just talk about it? The plans are already predetermined and unlikely to be changed. Anyone booked and going to collect at the convention center?

I wanted to call and ask about that because my gf and I are on Family Plus plan too. If that's the case then it's not worth it. What's the point paying RM100, having a 12-month contract while the phone itself isn't very cheap.

The only plus point is the 500MB free data transfer included in the package. You mean if I'm using the iValue plan, my sms to my family plus line is still 2000 sms free?
*
it isn't worth it in my point of view.

for the bolded sentence, once you're on iValue plan, you won't enjoy any more free SMS or calls to anyone under Family Plus supp line(s). but they will enjoy it among themselves.

eg. You - iValue 100 (main line) + A - Family Plus (supp line) + B A - Family Plus (supp line) + C - Family Plus (supp line)

* A, B & C will still enjoy free 20 hours of calls and 2000 SMS among themselves.
* A,B & C still can call you for free for 20 hours and 2000 SMS.
* You CAN'T make/send any free calls or SMS to them.
* You CAN ONLY enjoy 20% discount on call rate made to A, B & C. SMS to A,B & C will be 5cents per SMS.

hope you get what i mean. smile.gif

like what stated in the Maxis website, iValue 100 is RM50 for voice calls and RM50 for data usage. does not include usage of SMS.

Value plan .. versus .. i value.....

sure the blood sucker in Maxis very very smart when it come to their "PROFIT"

I signed on the "value plan" and bought a sony phone .. in 2007 .. ( for 2 yrs Plan RM 150.00 )

and with my usage since then ... till now ... is always good for my deduction of RM 150.00 commited $$$ plan ....

which the commited $$$ is good for all the charges including "roaming call "

now with this "i value" on iphone ..is only good for the 6 months deal and use the 8G set ....

soon after 6 month .. then use the 8 G set for other plan ...

In this way .. i would think .. is a better ideal ... to "SAVE"

by then hopefully .. MAXIS will OVER stock their 16 G .. and sell at LELONG ... ( or begging people to use the 16G set )

I am should very very soon maxis will run out of the 8G stock as compare to 16 G

so ... kawan kawan outhere BOYcott the 16 G set ... see .. what maxis will do next .....
