It is stated iPhone is under Maxis warranty for ONE year. Let say I sign up for Value Plus Plan for 6 months contract. End of sixth month, terminated the contract and MNP to other Telco while still keeping the phone. Is the still under Maxis warranty?

Hope someone can clarify on this since many are considering the official warranty by Maxis is one of the advantages in terms of getting the phone from Maxis instead of from other third party sources.

I think I'll call Maxis to ask about it I get free calls of 333 mins and 500 MB data every month for 24-months contract RM100 monthly commitment? That's pretty good it seems. I've been a customer with Maxis for 10 years so I think it doesn't matter to sign up the contract, lol.

I wanted to call and ask about that because my gf and I are on Family Plus plan too. If that's the case then it's not worth it. What's the point paying RM100, having a 12-month contract while the phone itself isn't very cheap.

The only plus point is the 500MB free data transfer included in the package. You mean if I'm using the iValue plan, my sms to my family plus line is still 2000 sms free?

oh yeah, baby! that is the only reason i'm currently on the bring your own (BYO) phone plan now; refraining myself from the temptation of getting a spanking new phone.

RM1,900 + RM1,200(100perMth) - RM600(my current plan) = RM2,500 for an iPhone3G 8g

if i sign up iValue 24 mths Plan
RM1,510 + RM2,400(100perMth) - RM1,200(my current plan) = RM2,710 for an iPhone3G 8g
*Hong Kong is selling officially "UNLOCK" iphone3g for about RM2,500

let's face it; there is no doubt that apple products are slightly towards the premium side. or else why are they being featured so much in hollywood movies, take that for an example.

Yes the ValuePlus plans are more worth it.  Please do note the iValue plans does not include SMSes.  Hence, for every SMS sent out you will need to pay under the iValue plan.

This just in. Maxis staff will be able to purchase the Apple iPhone 3G without contract (effectively "buy outright" like the NZ iPhones) for the price of RM2,400 for the 8GB, and RM2,700 for the 16GB. Option to buy them will be only after the launch and immediate customer allocations have been dealt with.
