I dont think its worth spending so much just for the sake of warranty. Tonnes of people bought the 2G and 3G before this package came out and i hear more success stories than negative one.

I've had one since Oct 07 and its been serving me well smile.gif  Just make sure you dont drop it into the bathtub (a friend of mine did that)  or drop it flat on its screen.  Handle it with care and it will be fine.

Iphone is unique..  I dont think I can go back to a SE or Nokia anymore.  It can do loads so if you are the kind that likes tinkering with your phone its worth it.. If u just wanna answer phone call and sms..  then get a cheaper SE or Nokia

I bought my iPhone 3G in August 2008 from some guy in Singapore Coffee Bean near an MRT station. icon_idea.gif

Not the safest way to deal but at least I have a copy of the Singtel receipt.

Touch wood no issues with the phone so far. sweat.gif

The iPhone 3G Maxis launch will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on March 20th at 7pm. Customers who booked their iPhones via the link posted above are invited to pick up their iPhones at the launch ceremony on that day, time and venue. Walk-in customers are also invited to come, to register, and will be informed when they can collect their iPhones later.

Also got a peek at their internal email regarding launch dates on 20th-22nd. They are recruiting people to come and showcase the iPhone on these dates, and calling them "iPhone3G Buffs". Limited Edition iPhone 3G T-Shirts, and meals are provided.

Hi, how would we become an iPhone3G Buff? Please provide any details you can if possible. As I understand a lot of this handled by event companies contracted by Maxis?

Unless you use the the amount that they want to charge you for the Iphone monthly, I think its not really worth it. It basically cost you slightly more than the black mkts if u buy it outright. So might as well buy outright and not let maxis bind you for 2 years...

Also with the new iphone rumoured to be out soon, I think maxis only intends to cash out on the hype (if there is still any) of what that's left or unknowing users.

This would have been attractive if it can really catch the hype. But then now it is not so hot already, ppl will think twice and look for alternatives like they always have before the iphone was launched.

Seriously, this isn't all that significant as it doesn't change much of the position in Malaysia. If u really wanted an Iphone, you would have paid top dollars to get it by hook or by crook. As for me, i looked at cheaper alternatives that listens to what the customers want but compromise on the "apple" factor.....

If Apple got international warranty for all the iphone then all the telco will mati kudasai....hehehehe
I'm actually surprised they dont.. they are so greedy.. 30% from Telcos.. 30% from app developers.. might as well tapao the warranty also.

It sort of makes our lives (those who has it now) easier somemore!

If new iPhone 3G model comes out in June, people that sign the 2 year or even 1 year contract will be... well, a litle annoyed perhaps. blink.gif

Huh , you mean that the iPhone 3G is imported from Singapore by Maxis and its not official as per from Apple ?

I don't think its possible. I don't think so apple would allow it. If its possible , then Celcom would have brought it first then (because of their close relationship with vodaphone)

Booking is only confirmed when the customer receives a Confirmation ID via
SMS and Email. Booking merely indicates an interest to purchase the iPhone 3Gand shall not be construed as a binding agreement for the sale/purchase of theiPhone 3G.

This means that we can FFK after we booked the phone without any penalty or etc?
