even with the "short kahwin" u're probably still paying a hefty price to get it. might as well get it from sg or thailand. plus u dunno if this is unlocked version. So unlocking will probably another trouble for those that are new

QUOTE(tarpaucase @ Mar 11 2009, 05:04 PM) You can compare wat.. because YOU are buying mar ultimately.. so whatever you earn..rupees.. yen.. ringgit.. in the end you see which country is cheaper to get from lor (based on exchange rates hahah.. maybe japan will be cheaper soon at the rate their money is dropping hehe) can i shout dream on right at your face? lol ...don't compare plans.. plans are only relevant here. ultimately if you're a heavy user.. their plan isn't really gonna cut it - 500mb..? come on! btw anyone knows if their 'free' minutes and stuff rollover to next month? i dun think the ivalue minutes will roll on. Was using Value plan all the while. They dun roll the unused credit. Dun use, charge u the same, use more, charge u more... |

I'm using Maxis data package right now. it's.. NOT bad lar.. but there's really some area that are.. no coverage. or it gets cut off. if you're a frequent commuter on the LRT or something you'll notice it
and .. talking about coverage there's some really blank spot along the highways too... its crazy. they've been getting worse and worse lately in their coverage.. celcom i tried before data package not bad. but maxis at my place is damn fast at times (but no torrents! they filtered and stuff - btw their network is.. a bit screwed up. don't think you can host anything on your 3g.. it's like it's on an unreachable network.. all filtered incoming) |

Hi guys/gals my 2 cents. I really do not think the Iphone package from Maxis is worth it. With that amount of money you can easily buy a phone with better functionality then the Iphone.
If you are a hardcore Iphone fanatic and you absolutely want a phone with distributor support then well... it's your call. |

so what are the warranty coverage for this short kahwin since we already know the price.
QUOTE 13. Maxis' support to iPhone 3G is strictly bound by Apple's warranty and repair It didnt state warranty void if you decided to not continue contract. But still u already bought the phonepolicy. Maxis will only support devices purchased from Maxis and/or its authorized channels only. |

For those wanting to preregister, the Maxis website is up. Head there now.
http://www.maxis.com.my/iPhone/index.asp Malaysia is still not listed as "coming soon" country at Apple's website http://www.apple.com/iphone/countries/ The iPhone 3G Maxis launch will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on March 20th at 7pm. Customers who booked their iPhones via the link posted above are invited to pick up their iPhones at the launch ceremony on that day, time and venue. Walk-in customers are also invited to come, to register, and will be informed when they can collect their iPhones later. Also got a peek at their internal email regarding launch dates on 20th-22nd. They are recruiting people to come and showcase the iPhone on these dates, and calling them "iPhone3G Buffs". Limited Edition iPhone 3G T-Shirts, and meals are provided. Latest breaking news! CONFIRMED the Maxis iPhone3G is officially unlocked. Rejoice! |

(plan + phone)I'm so thankful that I got the 2G iphone from US when it was 399 without contract. After waiting for 1.5 yrs.. its very sad to see the plans offered by Maxis. Cut Throat. Like that better go to lowyat or get friends to buy the unlocked one from Aus or Singapore without any plan. Cheaper than giving money to Maxis. |

Contract plans only allows the initial investment in terms of iPhone price to be reduced cheaper to be subsidised by the carrier. It is still unknown if we can use any sort of Apple Care Protection Plan to extend the warranty up to three years. It didnt state warranty void if you decided to not continue contract. But still u already bought the phone |

QUOTE(tarpaucase @ Mar 11 2009, 05:13 PM) hehe.. I think.. you need to really try out the phone before even comparing the functionality. Agreed. In terms of design the Iphone is really "different" from the rest of the phones. There are tons and tons of material written on the pros and cons. But is it wise to spend such an amount of money on the Iphone?other phones might have a gazillion of functionalities.. but most are not really *that* accessible. this phone has functionalities(even though they are limited) that are so easy to use it's in a class of its own. It's the amazing *usability* of this phone that really attracts me. not that i'm a mac fanboy or anything.. but i've been using nokias.. motorolas.. window mobile crap for years.. they all have superior hardware but they are all really not approachable at all. If you are a heavy mobile phone user maybe the packages make sense I believe. But if you are just a normal mobile phone user well it's really a waste of cash. If you do not mind the warranty. Might as well get a unlocked phone somewhere. At least the payment is one off. What do you think? |
