how about the ROM...? issit a total changing of the Theme...? they way it operate?

ROM is a totally different thing. ROM is the OS (Operating System) for you ppc and of course it may include some themes.

As you mentioned earlier, you wanted to install theme, which is only writing some addition files into your device, thus I said it would be safe.

But, if you want to flash to another ROM, that means you'll be overwriting all your system files, which of course, will have the risk of bricking your device.

Since you're new to WinMo, I don't recommend you doing it now.
Read and understand FULLY of what you're doing and what you'll be getting before deciding to go on this step.

At the mean time, get familiar with your device first. Note what you use and what you don't, then go look for the ROM that suits your need.

A good place to learn and hunt for ROMs (and applications) for Omnia i900 is at MoDaCo.
Be patient, take your time and enjoy your device.

and for just u told me bout the keylock...the screen nvr turn to standby mode (hold black) after receiving a msg...it will be a waste of power if it keep showing while im not using it...

Heard that updating to non-authentic Samsung ROM will void FMG warranty. So be careful

To align screen go to the system tab under settings and look for "screen". There's an option for screen alignment.

ya ..i did it but the at system config which got an left right button at the right-bottom corner...its hard to press the most corner button...any issit it have to press firmly with nails?...cant it just softly touch to make it work? not comparing hard with iphone...omnia need extra strength on the screen...

the the re aligment...i do check the previous post on the changing registries numeric stuff one.. issit it will boost the soft touching and the hard side corner pressing ?

apparently, you need to put extra pressure on the screen because every Winmo Device's almost the same. changing the registry will only slightly improve.

Doing the followings greatly improved my Omnia screen sensitivity and fluidity.

Use your favourite registry editor, go to [HKLM/Hardware/Devicemap/Touch]

Modify the value for Calibration Data to 519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872
Modify Click from 1280 to 2000 (decimal)
Modify DownUp from 256 to 750 (decimal)

Save the changes and soft reset the phone for the new setting to take effect!

P.S. The original data are derived from screen calibration when you touch the 5 points. So basically you dun really need to backup the original data this time, as you could always recalibrate the screen if you dun like the new setting.

I gave it a try and I have to say that there is some improvement! Not remarkable but yes there's definitely improvement. Better response from finger presses and higher sensitivity along the edges of the screen now.

Hope this wont wear off or I would need to set it back again. Before this I notice that sometimes my devices screen sensitivity decreases after awhile so I constantly need to re-align the screen which is a bit of a hassle

Anybody encountered this issue where the one patch of the screen is like brighter? Mine is on the middle left of the screen, seems like something has gone wrong..

I have that a little. More to the bottom left portion. But only visible on white or black backgrounds. Not really bothering me though.

Mine only occurs when using white background, thinking of having it repaired since warranty still got 4 months more to go..

Pls do update me if you get it repaired. I still have a few months warranty left on mine as well but not sure if i wanna repair it. Already installed invisible shield. Afraid that I might need to remove it to get it repaired

1zt i really hate it,i oredi put ads 2 sell it after 5 hours using it..but now,i think i might stick 2 it...actually i hate it coz i cant sms with speed,any soft reccomend? now i use finger keyboard...whut about media player? any apps? dnt want 2 use touch player..

guys.. is there a possible way to forward a msg automatically from a specific number to another specific number when i received an sms?

and about the outer cover of omnia.. can it be changed after many scrathes.. like the screen and stuff..
