Would just like to confirm if the newer firmware solves this problem? Most likely I would not be a GPS user so any problems with Garmin wouldn't bug me. Feedback is much appreciated

Hello. I've long been a Symbian Nokia user. Been poisoned by the Omnia i900 just recently. Not the newest around but attractive to me. Seems that many users have complaints about stability and sudden restarts of the device.

QUOTE Added on July 17, 2009, 2:06 pm Never had the "sudden restarts problem before". This type of problems usually occur with incompatible 3rd party softwares, just like Windows running on your PC. Only one previous firmware had a battery issue, other than that, all the newer firmwares are just great. This post has been edited by wkyoong: Jul 17 2009, 02:17 PM |

Hello omnians. Im not sure whats the proper term for this function but here goes:
"Lets say u're making a call using a IDD card and it prompts you to input the pin code via the keypad. Does this work on the omnia's touchpad while on-call? Apparently this function was disabled when I was using my SE P990i. Both touchpad/keypads were disabled when I was on a call" Would someone clarify this? Oh and is anyone using this?? ![]() |

Yups. Its the 3.5mm audio jack converter for the Omnia without the mic. So basically you can use headphones through it but it has to be taken out if a call comes in or not the caller wont be able to hear anything.

QUOTE(refugeez86 @ Jul 20 2009, 08:05 PM) Dont have it dude. Don't even have an omnia yet But im thinking of getting one. Just that i'll be a heavy music listener and a proprietary port is kind of a turn off. So I guess its the next best thing to do. Searched it off google |

QUOTE(refugeez86 @ Jul 20 2009, 09:40 PM) owh i tot u already own it haha.. Good question but I was rather expecting one of the more experienced users to answer that then want ask u bout sound quality of diz converter.. so when u want get ur omnia? I guess it should sound just as good as the stocked converter. Should be using the same concept as any other converter. Hmm... still looking in the meantime. No rush for me Added on July 20, 2009, 10:05 pmOh and another thing. Wondering if there is any difference between Singapore sets and Local FMG sets? Seems that there are many second hand Singapore sets around. Other than warranty is there anything different? This post has been edited by wkyoong: Jul 20 2009, 10:05 PM |

Was wondering since there's a difference in price.only the warranty.. rom also same..malaysian set can use singapore rom..singapore set can use malaysian rom.. Anyways, anyone care to clarify my earlier issue? "Hello omnians. QUOTE(lhongwuh @ Jul 21 2009, 04:05 PM) yes,the screen will be in sleep mode while on call.. Great! Anyone who actually tried this out? I guess this applies to any automated voice systems such as Hotlink as well however it will wake up upon pressing the middle mouse button! so inputting IDD code whould be workable! |

Hello fellow omnians. Seriously considering in getting my hands on an Omnia i900 sometime soon. Decided not to wait for the Omnia 2, a little too pricey to get a better screen, 3.5mm jack and new UI. Anyways, hope some of my queries can be answered:
-Will be used for on-the-go music playback with portable cans (Audio Technica SJ5). Wonder if the sound quality is good and is the output strong enough to easily drive portable cans? -Is invisible helping alot in protecting the devices exterior? Read some reviews mentioning some un-protected areas around the device. |

Ok after 1 day of usage it seems that the omnia is a great device with lost to offer. Still need to get used to the on screen keyboard. A little slow when typing messages.
I have 1 complaint. Battery life barely lasted me 1 day for some reason. Not sure why but here goes: -Seller mentioned that he "upgraded" to latest Msia rom which has Chinese input enabled but I have not yet done a Hard reset -I put the device into sleep mode using the power button but wake it up every once in awhile to play around with the functions quite frequently Could it be my usage which is causing the battery to drain to quickly? Or would the hard reset rectify this? Also I find it a little hard to remove my omnia from the slipcase which is similar to the one as shown in this pic: ![]() I just grab my omnia from the slot on the side but sometimes its a little hard to even budge Any suggestions?? |

QUOTE(Omnian @ Jul 28 2009, 12:31 PM) No dude. Grabbed that pic off the internet. Kind of tired of using the case. Especially when a call comes in and my omnia gets stuck Thought of getting invisible shield but I heard some reviews mentioning of the protective layer peeling off after some time. Anyone care to verify this? |

QUOTE(Omnian @ Jul 28 2009, 03:30 PM) That's strange. My hard case seems to be quite tight. Probably its not authentic since it was a free gift from the seller. It physically looks like the original but somehow it "feels" a little inferior in terms of quality. I guess i'll give IS a try. But im afraid that dust might collect along the edges of the protector and cause it to lose its adhesivenessDuring the time when I have not put on the IS, the Hard Case fitted very nicely with my device. The device will not drop out, but it is not so tight as you mentioned. Only after I installed the IS, it becomes very tight. Now, I seldom use the Hard Case. With IS, I just put it into my pocket and until now, there's no problem. QUOTE(biggie @ Jul 28 2009, 04:09 PM) yes, just got to remember installing IS is not an easy job (i took nearly one hour - and result not so good), but the phone will live happily in your pocket with key, coins etc. Well as long as it stays on I'll be happy. Just worried about the dust getting into the shield and byebye RM80 |

QUOTE(kenv09 @ Jul 30 2009, 10:36 PM) How to upgrade rom with Win Vista 64 bits?? Install Windoes Mobile Device center 1st. Then connect your omnia until the Mobile device center states that your device is connected. Then launch the upgrade file and follow the on-screen steps. I downloaded the two files. But yet, when I click the upgrade file, it ask me to install Windows Mobile Device first... what should i do? Just upgraded using Vista yesterday to the latest firmware. Sweetness |
