An understanding on the kill switch function.

It applies to all JB phones. Matter its lock and unlock as a whole.
Applies to those using unauthorized apps downloads Cydia or Installer or others beside those from app store.

@ pjastro

there is no restore button on his itunes page because he has not activated the phone yet (therefore a screen showing that the sim card appears to be unsupported)

PwnageTool to activate.
Just to make sure you are on the same frequency. I am on a mac.
Initially, remove simcard. Run PwnageTool.
After restore with custom ipsw then slot back in the sim card.

If you are on a pc. Sorry I have no knowledge how to create custom ipsw. to restore.

Just a little note.
In future if Apple release new FW update. Remove your simcard and you may update successfully. All your apps downloaded from Cydia will gone. From there you may have to wait for JB to release.

I done that from 2.0.2 to 2.1

how about believing that putting-a-piece-of-cellophane-to-improve-network-strength is only a myth? because i have personally tried it out when i was on the first gen and it doesn't work as endorsed.

Well, it worked for me. Before this the phone is always runs out of signal and when that happens, the phone automaticly locks my sim and i would have to type my pincode all over again.
