Go back to the guy who sold you the sim and ask for a replacement.

Need help here from sifus. Just got my Iphone 3G from states 3 days ago. It is locked and use some sort turbo sim (Gevey 3G) to unlock. I can make/received calls and sms without problems, but I cant sync with Itunes or my computer. It just says that" The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appeared to be supported". I have Version 2.1 installed if I'm not mistaken. I have download the QuickPwn21-1 but it is still unable to settle this problem. Please help.

1. 3G iPhone: Please read before asking which country has 3G iPhone locked and unlocked. 
There's NO software to unlock 3G iPhone if is not officially unlock. e.g: US, India etc.

I've used Rebel sim (by-pass sim) before, call/sms works but not internet. Sometimes when i'm talking on the phone from my area to another area (quite a distance) there will be drop calls and sudden network lost. I have to insert my sim into another phone, it will still shows no network, I have to search network manually, then insert back to iPhone3G to get it work.

Common problem using turbosim. At times no service - just reset network. From Setting-General- Reset. Or do not off the phone. Once the phone shut off it will take some time to search network then no sim will appear. Certain version turbosim will support Celcom but not necessary will work on other telco. I have changed my turbosim, 3X.

Ok. now i see the picture.
The turbosim which came along does not work with our local telco sim.
It only work with T-mobile or others US sim.

Locally you may have to source for one which work with our local sim.
Beware some may work well with celcom but may not work 100% with maxis common problem with maxis no service.

I guess there are a couple of brands in the market. Try it out first and ask for warranty. The latest you may not need to cut your sim card.

There are cases where turbosim got stuck while removing the sim tray just be careful.

I have seen now the turbosim been embedded into the phone means just slot your sim card and it works. So no more problem turbosim getting stuck.

Well it too late now since those who bought it locked, the only solution now turbosim.
While waiting for the software unlock.
For those early adopters back in version 1.0.2 - 1.1.0 which uses turbosim to unlock.
It just temporary measures and not long term.

Well we are all here to give and help for those in "trouble".
Lets not give a impression that he/she had made a wrong choice between unlock and lock phones. There is always a way to go round.

Use Pwnage Tool.
After selecting your ipsw file check activate phone. Go thru all the procedure and restore your phone.

If that does not work then look for other turbosim.

correction, its 1.1.2, and it still remains very vague about the upcoming software unlock
dev team haven't announce it yet, and hey even though its software unlock, u still gotta unlock and still have the risk of getting it relock again with future firmwares
and do remember, the 3g have a kill switch which is on steve job's disposal, thats why an official one is so much better off

Totally agree with your statement.

For those 2G its life. For 3G you have a choice lock or unlock.
For locked well its a challenging way ahead for FW updates.
But no choice already purchased have to live with it.
No doubt a unlock version the best choice.

OK. Once you created a custom ipsw file. From PwnageTool.
Hold option key and press restore. Select the custom ipsw file you just created and restore.
