I see, so far I only come across 3 different colors of gold fishes, orange, white + red, and black. I heard gold fish got something to do with feng shui or luck too, something like Arowana. What do you think? Is this true?  icon_idea.gif

if u have also read the Aro's thread ......u should have read what i wrote before
those fish can only bring good fortune for the one who selling them
cause they usually sell the fish quite expensive especially Arowana

don't u agree?? tongue.gif

Some ppl pay for expensive pet because they think expensive pet that offer in the shop can live happily in their care/house but fortunately thing goes difference way. So whether the pet is expensive or cheap the most important thing is we ourself must be very prepare before buying a pets.

I got my own sweet and sad exp with my goldfishes
but im defeated 10-0 (non alive now)

I dont get a chance to rare anything during school days coz i've to concentrate on studies and coco. But after my SPM, i go for 2 lovely betta fishes(gave to my cousin coz my mom dont like betta)

After with 2 mth of exp, i spent my part time salary for a 2.5 ft pool and 3 GOLDFISH; Orange Oranda, RedCap Oranda and "PingPong" Pearlscale. All of them is so cute >.< . But within 1 week, 2 K.0..ed ! reason? nvr put anti-chlorine =____+.

Then i bought 2 more PingPong (coz they are too cute) and a BubbleEye ....
Some dead within 6 mths and I look up for few more other species.

My 3 long live goldfish is Ryunkin (3.5"B + 3"T) Ranchu(4") and Eyeless PingPong(this fella able to live for a year wo a pair of eyes ... im sad)

After i came down to MMU, pass all my child to my cousin ... haih TT____TT

But after all, i still planning to over again with goldfish after i graduate .
Cute and Fun ^______^

To keep 20+ goldfish you need a 400+ gallons tank because each goldfish need 20 gallons of water. Floating upside down because not enough of O2, or swim bleeder disease, air trap in the blader.

Before I setting up my goldfish tank i'm thinking of using UV filter for my goldfish tank also but after setting up everything and run the tank for four month plus without using UV filter everything found to be running quite well no disease, not losing any fish, only the water got a little bit of golden green colour.

There are two type UV filter in the market,
1) The external canister filter with build in UV light.
2) The UV light only, just connect it to the filter pump.
The cost will be base on brand and watts. The higher the watts and of course the costly it will be.

I am using the UV filter! Using it because my pond is in the courtyard.

The UV filter is suppose to keep the water from turning 'green'!

Bought it from Pet's Wonderland at Ikano Power Centre for RM800+-.

Added on September 24, 2007, 10:26 pmAny recommendation of brand and where to buy stabilizing salts/stress relievers salts! The brand i'm using quite expensive for a 2kg at RM25.50.

Just bought a 1kg china brand for RM6 today!

Hi Lance8431 how long have you been keeping goldfish? you must choose a healthy goldfish before you buy it from the shop. The most important is water quality the water must be clean to keep it away from disease. I m not a pro but if you need help i will give you some information, i need to know the size of the aquarium you use how many fish you keep at that time?
*
well, a few years during my secondary school days. Initially total noob at the fish, but after rear 1-2 year and look at the fishes + bought some cheap china book from book fair (but surpricingly very informative thumbup.gif ) bout gold fish knows quite stuff la. ranchu's my favorite, then come to red heads and lionheads. but i make a big mistake tat time for crowding my tank with lotsa fishes, maybe stress up la sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

But in the end i end up keep only gold fishes, but after form 6 go kl study dee so my family take care of them, maybe dunno how to handle die liew, now only keep parrot fish.

If this is a tank in the fish fish shop it is ok, if otherwise then it will be a problem to maintain the tank. Overpopulated tank.
