strangely enough i've tried vmodding it and oc using rivatuner but it wont go beyond 685mhz (the highest stable),duno where's the prob sweat.gif

i'll keep a 3dmark vantage score of my gtx260 (Zotac GTX260 Amp2!) and compare it to my 4870 1g when its here (HIS 4870 IceQ 4+ Turbo 1gb)

I used to be in the HIS club. HIS 4850 IceQ4 CF served me well. smile.gif super cool and quiet operation (seriously, no shit). A must try, but I read from reviews, they said that HIS 4870 iceQ4 isn't that quiet at all..

Finally gotten my Geforce GTX285 modified with Artic Cooling Extreme Cooler.

It stays idle @ 39c to 40c. Can't believe it is actually cooler than my old Geforce 8800GT modified with Zalman VF900 running at full speed all the time.

Idle temp is nothing. What about at load and under stress?

Palit Pulls Out

(Insert your own organized religion / birth control joke here.) Palit, the video card company that is pretty much only famous for having a dumbass frog as its mascot is pulling out of business in North America. Bye bye jackasses.

i hope palit won't close down its business as it's one of the most affordable cards in town.

there's no diff between the two 9800GTX+, and the diff between zotac and XFX is the warranty and bundles.

yes, they are the same GPU.

OEM can only be found in pre assembled pc, such as from dell, acer, hp etc. only. those are called OEM. normally u dun find them selling OEM parts, even if u can find one, u will find that it was cabut from the pc which they bought.

basically, Zotac/XFX are the 3rd party manufacturer. they get the licensing from NVIDIA so they can manfacture the GPU smile.gif but they are all pretty much the same. the build quality may vary just a little though. but zotac and xfx are very well known and respected 3rd party manufacturers

But i prefer leadtek than Palit, heard a few drawback of palit from distributor. Especially Palit HD4850 Sonic, even the fan is running, you can smell burnt smell sweat.gif

One more thing, XFX is using 8 layer PCB, i might be wrong... but is a very good brand.

Gigabyte, Asus, and Zotac are more expensive cos their warranty periods are longer. hmm.gif
Palit is making OEM for other brands, hence it's cheaper. But the red board is really looked ugly for some.

I tried running GTA4 with this card (Geforce GTX285 with Artic Accelero Extreme) and I have checked the temperature. Surprisingly the load temperature is about 48c.

That was closed to my old Geforce 8800GT modified with Zalman VF900Cu Fatality edition's idle temperature.

From my point of view, very silent, barely audible. Quieter than my Zalman CNPS 9500 LED and Zalman VF900Cu @ 50% fan speed.

I think you should get it for your GTX295 they do come out with one....I don't think they have that yet.

Also, any changes of cooler will void warranty immediately these days, Geforce GTX285 warranty stickers are just covering the screws. Hence, the removal of the stock screws will void the warranty.
