Guys, newbie in LCD here.

Need recommendation from fellow experts here as I need a LCD. Budget around 700-800.

Main purpose of it is for my photo editing. So just wondering what to mean by contrast ratio ? Is it higher contrast ratio, the better the LCD it is ?

Anyway, hope fellow experts can enlighten my doubts. Thanks and have a nice day smile.gif

yes the higher the contrast ratio the better the colour, but this not apply to dynamic contrast ratio.
At your budget there are many good LCD out ther. See for yourself. go take a look at samsung product, it has very good colour. try find 16:10 ratio monitor. blush.gif

If you're working as a photo editor/graphics designer, I will suggest you not to get any LCD right now with your budget. You need at least a 8bit PVA or IPS panel for color accuracy. If photo editing is nothing major and you do not have to be too particular about color accuracy, DELL S2409W gets my vote.

You can't tint your LCD dude. Why on earth do you want to tint your LCD? Tinting a LCD won't make your matte screen becomes glossy screen.

DELL in terms of build quality and better warranty. I would definitely avoid Acer, they are not good in anything. doh.gif

I believe the most popular LCD brand here is either DELL or Samsung.

DELL S2409W only 1920x1080!!
Samsung 2433BW No HDMI!
Samsung T240
BenQ V2400W 2ms!!

i suppose most of u will recommend 2409w bcoz of the bang for the buck.. but if price isnt an issue do u guys recommend any other of these?
n oh yes, purpose of the monitor is alot of gaming, so i guess dont want ghosting or sort, and a little hd movies
