Just got a WFP3007 for my entertainment rig rclxms.gif
so far the LCD is working great but may i ask,WFP3007 has HC model or not?
3007wfp-hc was released a year or so after the release of 3007wfp ... if I'm not mistaken...

only differs in Back-light

i think i remember someone say using a camera (by looking at the camera screen u will c the flip imagine u will c some vertical line (VA panel),something like that) can know which panel is that?
izzit this is another way to identify panel?

The easiest way to see what's the panel use is by looking at the viewing angle. TN panel will always have a more narrow viewing angle usually 160° / 160° (typical) and VA/S-IPS will have wider viewing angle usually 178° / 178° (typical).
Unfortunately not all manufacturer advertise the panel they use, so using viewing angle is the most accurate way to know the panel used

The camera trick is not for checking panel type. Like valho said, viewing angle is the easiest to check the panel type. But those who haven't seen a VA/IPS panel before might have a problem because they have nothing to compare with. 2ndly is the color reproduction. Again, you have to be pretty good with your eyes and have seen a VA/IPS panel before you can spot the difference. 3rdly, if non of those above works for you, worst come to worst come in here, give us a model you want to check the panel type and wait for forumers reply if you do not have the time searching for it.

yeah I did saw some at dell with 160° / 170° viewing angle at Dell site. This makes it harder to see whether the panel is TN or VA/S-IPS since I think most ppl at the shop doesn't know what panel is used on the LCD they are selling and not all manufacturer advertise it

Well.... once can assume pretty well based on the price. I can confidently say that most LCDs selling out there are TN panel.

Heh, just updated to the 24" club from my old viewsonic 20" and all i can say is...

the Dell 2408WFP RAWKS! Still bloody expensive but it seemed to me the only one with all the interconnects. The HDMI-in and the audio HDMI-out is great for my xbox 360. Working on getting my retro consoles - gamecube, xbox, dreamcast connected.

For pc use - movies, i suppose the extra 4" makes a difference, but the difference is really big when i try reading downloaded comics in full page mode.

Even though you can now get a 24" for less than RM700, the 2408wfp is damned worth it for me at least.

mostly is personal preference I guess, I got my 2408 because I wanted a VA panel and also it has 5 years warranty and premium panel guarantee, which means I can exchange it even if there's only 1 dead/bright pixel.
And I don't think there's any other 24" that comes with the amount of input that the 2408 has

yeah I know dell listed them, but most other manufacturer doesn't. Dell 24" VA panel, the 2408 went to small & medium business section instead of home smile.gif. looks like all dell VA panel went to small & medium business section, only the 27" and 30" is still under home

Ya lor, most of Dell LCDs are of TN panel. Luckily I was able to grab my Dell 2007WFP with great deal last time.
One thing I was curios about is how is my 2007WFP (S-IPS panel) compare to Dell 2209WA (E-IPS panel)?

2007WFP wins hands down out of the box without tuning. I still remember paying 2.4k for that yrs ago. I'm not that impressed with 2209WA, but at least it is cheap anyway or else I'll be kicking myself after that purchase.

it should be fine if referring to your pc spec. izzit very high reso?. but i do notice PES uses a lot of graphic resources, since i need to play in low reso, compare to other games like COD4 or COH.
so IMO not ur pc spec, its the game itself hunger of graphic resources sweat.gif sweat.gif
