Received Dell 2209WA, 2 business days,

See one small red dot on plain white. It is a dead pixel or what? or may be dust, try to clean now.

It is not dead pixel, it is stuck pixel. Dead pixel doesn't have color. It is dead.

It appears a stuck pixel.

Can claim or not, as 2209WA is under premium panel category whereby they give zero dead pixel warranty.

Cheaper or extra discount one no good, as my first 2209WA at 899 seems ok, but this (the second one at 699 just barely a month old different between purchase), when opening the box already suspicious something, as vga cable is attached on the monitor, while the first one vga cable is consealed in the plastic bag one, don't have any cable attached with the screen.

By right the VGA cable should be separated instead of attached on monitor, is it a recon set?

Did you checked the content before you signed the "acknowledgment slip" from courier company?

I have bought more than 8 LCDs from DELL over the pass 5 years, all my LCDs come with the VGA cable attached to the unit. Recently I bought the s2409w from a forumer, that's the only model that the VGA cable is sealed. What you get is not a refurbished unit, refurbished unit ship in a tall box with the stand attached.

About the stuck pixel, you can try a few methods like run a loop a unstuck pixel video, and gently rubbing on your screen in a circular motion.

But my one even come with another box just to put the VGA+DVI cable in seal packaging.

Maybe nowadays due to pricing, they cut cost on packaging?

How to check the content, when it is a sealed big box when you received the box.

Logistics people won't wait you to unpacked, installed and check the unit pixels by pixel and wait you to sign, right? rclxub.gif

Well, for my case, I open all the box on the spot and check the items then only sign it.

However for the dead pixel, I believe is possible to ask DELL to replace it, since you had just received it, and it can consider as factory defect.

The pixel is red under white page.

But under black page, I can't see the dot.

Same with dark blue, can't find the dot.

The dot is noticeable under all lighter colour.

If you really want to ask for an exchange, demand a brand new unit. If not they will ship you with a refurbished unit.
