QUOTE(kaiserreich @ May 24 2009, 12:41 AM)
I have experience with Dell LCD's befoe. The particular problem was (Dell 196FP or something like that, old model) red lines appearing on the screen. Seems to be standard problem with the particular model. 3 times, NBD exchange, no issues. The 3rd time, I got upgraded to an ultrasharp version, nothing happened after that. That model was a lemon, not a representation of LCDs as a whole.

All due respect, from your posts, I could easily tell you never encounter dell support, in terms of monitors before.
Advice: stick with what you know, instead of generalizing, or, for a lack of a better term, make false claims, in this case, your comment on Dell Monitor warranty support.

yes, i've never bought any dell monitor b4. Sorry, U sound offended. Dell, I'm sorry, u've always been a great brand.

I hearby clarify all my views are not false claims to ruin Dell Monitor warranty support. I'm just a normal consumer who made a line or 2 abt common sense of business, which obviously wrong in this context.

But I got Dell laptop b4. Their service b4 warranty void is superb but when it voids, troubles came. I've made several calls & yet they seems to forgot my calls, I begged them to help me fix my com because at my study place there none computer shops willing to fix "complicated" Dell laptop. Until I sternly complain the customer service ppl only I received my reply from the technician. I was reli helpless tat time because I reli need my computer to do lots of assignments & reports.

I'm just voicing out my opinion , based on a bad experience with expired warranty Dell laptop service, some posts on LYN which the Dell guy came to fix for their lcd monitors & close friends of mine which got rather noobies to come "fix" the problems with Dell laptop. I duno ur lcd spoilt tat many times though.

I tot dell service is same for all their products, isnt it? I duno, have been using ordinary consumer common sense as well.

p/s: I'm lousy at english, sorry for anyone offended.

your problems is very common for any brand of laptop, not only Dell in general,
most laptop these days ,especially Dell, are oem manufactured, its the same inside, as of most laptop today, u having trouble getting service cause u been going to noob service center, blame the place u going not the problems LMAFO,

my advice , extend your warranty on any laptop u buy, problem solves~~

on the lcd matter, my friend been working in dell for more than couple of years and he said most of the technician for assembly line have really terrible QC, simply install, sometimes lcdpanel missing component also dont care, eg, wifi card attenna didnt routed nicely behind laptop lcd panel also send out, hence Dell laptop wifi signal for some really terrible..

but then again this might happens anywhere, so i cant comment it as general Dell sux in QC too just luck i guess, i brought several dell product ,lcd panel, laptop, servers, pc. so far i been lucky ,non have problems and lasted till today....

No I'm not offended. I just felt/thought that you should know what you are talking about. And since monitor warranty and laptop warranty are two different things, I helped clarify it.

Wanna ask you if the screen is prone is vibration as the previous samsung builds I tested is prone to it. Especially when I'm playing beat music games. The screen starts shaking
*
i had a old samsung 732n, when i knock it it shakes about 5-7 times before it goes back to stable
but i can say this stand is very strong and stable, if u knock it itll only shake once and then itll stablize immediately, but it does shake though, if u constantly shake ur table or have very loud beats it will shake!

QUOTE(TehWateva @ May 21 2009, 11:50 AM)
Also I read the that T240 comes with a remote to remedy the side controls issue, is it true?
*
really? i was not aware of this. when i bought it the sellers didnt say anything about a remote though

remote tech(infrared) already existed many years ago...
jz a matter of whether those lcd manufacturer wanna include it onot
since d size of lcd monitors getting bigger and connectivity ports supported increased, its time for them to include a remote for the ease of switching between ports

Have you tried playing with the setting of the monitor, for example adjusting color saturation, brightness or contrast? blush.gif

If that is the case, then what you have seen cannot be used to judge what LCD you are planning to buy. Always make sure that both LCDs are set to their optimum usage setting and compare for yourself. smile.gif

The workers showing black face? Perhaps you should really try to act as a very potential customer. tongue.gif

the s2409w is your traditional LCD, while the G2410 is a new generation LED LCD which is much lighter, color production is more uniform accross the panel and usually less backlight bleeding.
