So when you try to open a 4:3 movie does it stretch? Perhaps playing some game will help? Eg: PS3.

the aspect only works by detecting the source input.. or resolution selected. if your resolution is 16:9 then when you play movies in windows, the player set borders for you.. not the monitor. but if you set it to 1280x1024.. then Full will stretch it... Aspect will display it properly.

Do you own a PS3? Mind if you connect it with your monitor and see how it looks?

How's the graphic when playing PS3? Does it stretched? Do you try both 720p and 1080p?

Where did you buy your monitor from rifasha? Some shops can reprint the receipt for free or some might charge a small amount of fees. They should have records in their system.

just tested with my ps3. very satisfied with the monitor =D

regarding the question on the aspect, since i output through HDMI, so it's 1080p, fill the whole screen nicely.. 1920x1080.. so if play 4:3 videos in ps3, like the computer, the ps3 will display it properly with black bars.

if you really want to test the Aspect/Full setting, then i'll use my tvbox, using ps2.. or normal dvd player to see the result. lol..

EDIT: tested with ps2. unable to post, pictures posting limit reached. wait till another fella reply then i post.

ps2 > av out > tvbox (1024x768) > vga > monitor for video
ps2 > av out > y-connector > desktop speakers for audio

now, why in-game 16:9 and monitor set to Aspect but it displays as 4:3? remember, the vga input is 1024x768, therefore 4:3.

I always set the setting of Wide mode : Aspect

cause when i play dota, if full, then the screen picture will be scretch and make the graphic fat.

and DDC/CI = off
and ACM = off

Not sure what these both is. Anyone can enlighten me?
