QUOTE(KhangFai @ Feb 23 2009, 07:10 PM) I don't know whether is a good decision if we put Berba at CB. Err.. what.. am I reading this right?? He is tall and might be the advantage our defensive line. If Berba at CB, Tevez will be partner Wazza at front line. If we're really despo, perhaps Carrick could be asked to fill in central defence. And what's this about ex-Chel managers... ![]() |

Please. I don't think even in the worst case scenario SAF would putting Berbatov or Foster or even Carrick (even though i think he did putting a striker/midfield before, can't remember)
I like the idea of playing Fabio on the RB. Fabio is lack of match fitness and not sure whether playing him straight into UCL is a good idea, but we have no choice. 4 - 5 - 1 Fabio - Ferdinand- O'Shea - Evra Rooney - Giggs - Fletcher - Park - Ronaldo Berbatov 4 - 4 - 2 Fabio - Ferdinand- O'Shea - Evra Park - Fletcher - Giggs - Ronaldo Berbatov - Rooney |

Ferguson hails ''one of the best'' Mourinho
QUOTE Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed Jose Mourinho as one of the best coaches in the world ahead of Manchester United's UEFA Champions League clash with Inter Milan on Tuesday. The old foes lock horns again. United travel to the Giuseppe Meazza for the first-leg of their last 16 tie, and Ferguson cannot wait to again lock horns with Mourinho. "He's one of the best coaches in the world, amazing," said Ferguson after seeing his side clinch a 2-1 win over Blackburn on Saturday evening. "I knew of him when we played Porto in 2004 but it wasn't until Jose went to Chelsea and called himself the Special One that I began to take notice of him. "But don't forget he was self anointed! When he called himself that people sat up and I did too. But his achievements were there to be recognised. "I don't know everything about Jose or what he does on the training ground, but you can't deny his success to win the UEFA Cup with Porto as well as two or three domestic titles in Portugal. "Then he won the Champions League with them and that takes some doing at a club like Porto." Fergie also had praise for Mourinho's domestic success as both clubs currently top their respective leagues. "After that he won the two titles at Chelsea. It will be good going, too, if he wins the title in his first season at Inter - so he has made his mark alright,'' he said. "He came in and said he was the Special One and we were thinking, 'who is this?'. After that his team were thinking they'd better win and they got off to a start like nothing on earth. ''Everyone was chasing their tail for two seasons so we had to do something about it - and that's what we did. "Jose was the instigator of the Chelsea team without question. He gave them a resilience and a winning mentality that has put them onto that higher level and it made it hard for us to compete against them." Meanwhile, Michael Carrick believes United face their toughest test against Mourinho's men. Carrick could slot into defence to solve the club's defensive crisis as Nemanja Vidic is suspended and England duo Gary Neville and Wes Brown both ruled out through injury, while there are also doubts over the fitness of John O'Shea, Rafael and Jonny Evans, but the midfielder is confident of success. ''Inter are as tough an opponent as we could get right now,'' said Carrick. ''They are in good form at the top of their league. ''We are both probably amongst the top four or five in Europe at the moment but that is what the Champions League is all about. You have to defeat the best if you want to win it.'' Carrick watched on last week as Inter overcame a Milan side including David Beckham in the derby at the San Siro, although that did not come as a surprise. ''Inter were good but we know what to expect anyway,'' he said. ''Going to the San Siro to play Inter is a massive game and a big test for us. Over the past two years we have been very consistent in the Champions League. ''We have not suffered any defeats since the last time we went to the San Siro and hopefully we can keep that run going.'' |

QUOTE(tommy81 @ Feb 23 2009, 11:41 PM) Oh ok... I thought Fabio's injury in the League Cup was pretty bad and would be out for quite some time... Looks like I may be wrong.. I really hope Evans will be able to play.. but looks unlikely... |

I watched the latest game between bologna v inter. Inter won 2-1. But i must say, if that was the form and tactical that Inter will play approach more or less, i think we could handle them.
But the only thing that got in the way was our injury trouble at the back. This could be the difference in approaching the game. I think if all r well, we could give them a great game. Even with this injuries, i still think we can do the job tomorrow, if not great. Everyone were talking about how strong Inter is. But we as United fans forget sometimes that we support one of the greatest side in Europe this season. We shouldnt be worry too much... Ronaldo - Berba - Rooney can make the difference... Personally I think AG was great being only few months of taking over Chelsea he already swooped several second places DAMN GANGSTER WEI. Can't wait for tomorrow night, hope we dont crumble while visiting. Last match without Vidic at earlier time showed how vulnerable United could be let it be aerial or ground, hope SAF figured some way out or else we might struggle during second leg. |
