Me too.

And I thought Webb was piss poor. Dodgy decisions and card spree was going on just now.

About the goal we conceded just now, I blame PIG for being too nervy. Can't really blame him though, he rarely get games under his belt.
*
Inter away, mostly playing 5 men accross midfield. But i not bother to guess the line up as the gaffer is always unexpected. Good win, 3 points of the bag and let's the blue half of Manchester do us some favour brows.gif

Moarinho might have seen some weakness in our defence today. No wonder he was so keen that Vidic to be banned 3 games, no doubt he's overtook Ferdinand as the lynchpin of the defence. Give credit where one dues, he's been an ever present member along this CS run. At he last few mins against Blackburn when they start throwing the crosses in, Vidic stood taller than anyone. Ferdinand need Vidic to complement him, he was sorta below his best with Evans. Ferdinand is more the chilling, positional type defender where else Vidic is the tough tackler, no nonsense defender. Evans resembles more to Ferdinand, hence they don't really click. I start to worry slightly for the Inter game, the away one at least.

QUOTE(grinner @ Feb 22 2009, 11:42 AM)
at the san siro, agreed o'shea is the better choice (just) since he is marginally better defensively, also the aerial presence... but at home, i'd go with rafael... o'shea can't bomb ahead like the young da silva can...
*
he did well against Fulham attacking and defensive wise, think he play better at RB

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Feb 22 2009, 02:37 PM)
remember...we not only play against Inter Milan, we play against Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan. Although their result is typical Mourinho's style but do remember one thing. SAF's Man Utd only beat Jose Mourinho one time only with all the encounter..let it be Porto or Chelsea.
SAF knows that.
*
did SAF actually beat him? hmm.gif As far as i remember, i don't think so.

Legendary myth. laugh.gif
I wouldnt exactly say that "Rio had him covered" becuz some strikers delay their shots while some prefer to seize the chance at a given opportunity...But I agree with what you said about PIG being a little too rash in his decision. I guess being on the bench all the time din help his confidence..

Yes, Santa Cruz is good, but we all know what Sam's teams are made out of...Just like during his Bolton days.
*
But Ferdinand is pushing him wide, that would narrow his angle of shot, he would not have an empty net to aim for if Kuszczak had not rushed out

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Feb 22 2009, 05:07 PM)
Without the benefit of a replay, I'm pretty sure Carrick was nearest to Oojier after Scholes and Nani but was ball watching (like the rest of the defense). But then, why is Kuszchak the only one who's stupid when Nani gave the ball away, Scholes and Nani being gentlemenly over whom should clear the ball, the rest of the defense ball-watching? Because looking at your post, all 3 made mistakes but Kuszczak's the only one coming off as stupid.

It was a mess of a goal but again, as I mentioned, I don't blame Kuszczak. But again, if we were to point fingers, I'd point them at other players as well whom started the whole mess. It'd be interesting to see the opinions here if Rafael gave away the penalty. Would he be defended or hammered?

And I was mentioning Hargo in response to alien's post stating he could partner Ferdinand as a last resort. Nothing to do with Carrick's play.

P.S.: I don't like Kuszczak as our goalkeeper but I don't see how we could blame him.
*
I'm not blaming him, but I think his decision making should be better, but perhaps you can blame it on lack of fitness. Scholes and Nani is the culprit, but why the hell is Carrick in the picture? I might be harsh on Nani (perhaps the reason I'm not a big fan of him), he rarely track back, not only that occasion. He was clearly nearest to the ball, yet he want he gave up the ball to Scholes which he hope can give him back for a fast break (i think). And for god's sake, he thought Scholes in his 20s, and he just played in midweek as well. Asking him to sprint at that distance is asking too much, especially he's not known for his speed even when was young.

Assuming O'Shea and Evans cannot come back in time, would you take the risk to call up your youngster?

But if so, I don't think I'll risk it, but I'm no SAF. I choose Carrick cause of his height and good positional sense and I dowan to risk Evra there since his lack of height.

Fletcher Ferdinand Carrick Evra

Rafael Ferdinand Carrick Evra

EDIT : looks like khangfai think the same thing as me

I would go for Fletcher Ferdinand Carrick Evra BUT it will limit our options in midfield?

CR - Giggs - ? - Park (assuming its 4-4-2)

Cant see Scholes starting another game in successive.

Where's Hargraeves when you need him?! Possebon or Gibson? LOL-ed, but I'll trust both of them more than Eckersley. Ibrahimovic vs Eckersley is suicidal sweat.gif

This is mine if O'SHea and Evans can't make it

VDS

Rafael Ferdinand Carrick Evra

Ronaldo Giggs Fletcher Park

Rooney Tevez

or

VDS

Fletcher Ferdinand Carrick Evra

Ronaldo Giggs Gibson Park

Rooney Tevez

that's the best I can think of

It looks 4-4-2, but I'll foreseen Rooney and Tevez swapping roles to drop back to midfield to shield the defence.

advisable don't, few times it ended up with some big flame wars. In the end, we just trouble alien bro for cleaning up our mess.

And seeing your quote so fast got a response by someone *cough cough*, better stay away from that subject

I smells gasoline here and please fookie, don't tarnished our thread. First, with your quote from other post and now posting his profile up. They draw, we won, we celebrate, it's all ok. But there's borderline to that, and by bringing up this issue, you are bringing up more troubles as more and more KOPITES come in and complain about me. Not that it concern me, but I do pity Alien bro for having to clean up the thread after that as I can see it will only grow bigger and bigger.

Yup, i worried sh!t about Inter that is. Not that I don trust the squad, but UCL is sometimes more about luck. Just hope Lady Luck smiles upon us that night. I hate Italian opposition except Roma that is, let's hope we can compete and battle past them flex.gif

Here we go again. Victims.. No wonder that word are associated with you guys so much on other united forums. We know there are bad apples everywhere. But there you go painting all the others with the same brush again. Well done.

gidlcin.. there's 36 points left to play. Anything can happen. But we do look strong, although we have not really been firing on all cylinders going forward as of yet. One game we look great, the others we just barely win the game.
*
No offence, I always think gidlcin comes in when solstice comes in and complain about a certain bad apple. As quoted just now from you thread, the ball is indeed round, and no one can predicts the outcome until it really ends. For now it seems a healthy lead for us, but you all might still capitalise on your trip to Old Tafford

Ferguson hails ''one of the best'' Mourinho

QUOTE
Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed Jose Mourinho as one of the best coaches in the world ahead of Manchester United's UEFA Champions League clash with Inter Milan on Tuesday.

The old foes lock horns again.

United travel to the Giuseppe Meazza for the first-leg of their last 16 tie, and Ferguson cannot wait to again lock horns with Mourinho.

"He's one of the best coaches in the world, amazing," said Ferguson after seeing his side clinch a 2-1 win over Blackburn on Saturday evening. "I knew of him when we played Porto in 2004 but it wasn't until Jose went to Chelsea and called himself the Special One that I began to take notice of him.

"But don't forget he was self anointed! When he called himself that people sat up and I did too. But his achievements were there to be recognised.

"I don't know everything about Jose or what he does on the training ground, but you can't deny his success to win the UEFA Cup with Porto as well as two or three domestic titles in Portugal.

"Then he won the Champions League with them and that takes some doing at a club like Porto."

Fergie also had praise for Mourinho's domestic success as both clubs currently top their respective leagues.

"After that he won the two titles at Chelsea. It will be good going, too, if he wins the title in his first season at Inter - so he has made his mark alright,'' he said. "He came in and said he was the Special One and we were thinking, 'who is this?'. After that his team were thinking they'd better win and they got off to a start like nothing on earth.

''Everyone was chasing their tail for two seasons so we had to do something about it - and that's what we did.

"Jose was the instigator of the Chelsea team without question. He gave them a resilience and a winning mentality that has put them onto that higher level and it made it hard for us to compete against them."

Meanwhile, Michael Carrick believes United face their toughest test against Mourinho's men.

Carrick could slot into defence to solve the club's defensive crisis as Nemanja Vidic is suspended and England duo Gary Neville and Wes Brown both ruled out through injury, while there are also doubts over the fitness of John O'Shea, Rafael and Jonny Evans, but the midfielder is confident of success.

''Inter are as tough an opponent as we could get right now,'' said Carrick. ''They are in good form at the top of their league.

''We are both probably amongst the top four or five in Europe at the moment but that is what the Champions League is all about. You have to defeat the best if you want to win it.''

Carrick watched on last week as Inter overcame a Milan side including David Beckham in the derby at the San Siro, although that did not come as a surprise.

''Inter were good but we know what to expect anyway,'' he said. ''Going to the San Siro to play Inter is a massive game and a big test for us. Over the past two years we have been very consistent in the Champions League.

''We have not suffered any defeats since the last time we went to the San Siro and hopefully we can keep that run going.''

Yeah, whoever scored the most away goals and ended up draw in aggregate in 2nd leg will go through.
But you better hope this is not gonna happen or else i will hunt you down mad.gif
*
Think he want that to happen, perhaps it can add constraint to their title.

But if they lose this tie, the match against Man Utd next, perhaps can deal a psychological blow to them (that is if we manage to qualify smoothly)

Injury is part of football. But for Saha, injury is part of him. sicknote.

I disagree, our 3rd choice must be fit when called, not injuring himself while warming up. laugh.gif

As for the bolded part, do you mean his qualities?
*
his qualities as a poacher is very good. Even with his injuries problem, he managed quite a good goal ratio for us and now everton. He got good control, both footed, strong header - a very classic out and out striker.
