i was told by Digi sale personnel that the promotion of free modem for Explore & Extreme packages will be ended by end of this month... In other words, there is no free modem starting from Aug...

Since i'm always skeptical about the words from any sale personnel (if they wanted to persuade customer to subscribe ASAP) then would like to know if anybody heard this info as well?

QUOTE(momusu @ Jul 14 2009, 07:44 PM)
question:
how do i check how many GB i've used besides the included digi mgmt software?

i cant even register into their ocs, or is the ocs cant be used with digi bb?
*
you need to wait for at least 2 working days before u can register into ocs... if u still have problem after that, then just call digi service centre and they will settle it for u...

currently, there is no other method to track ur usage (before the bill is out) except for the software... however, it's not accurate if you move your modem around or use a router with ur modem (like my case)...

i have confirmed this with digi many times... nobody can correctly tell ur usage level before the bill is out... the digi mgmt software is just a reference only...

For those who wish to use a usb router, you can buy the latest released aztech wireless N router plus HSPA Support for 3G mobile Broadband ( HW550 - 3G .

I have bought this 1 with rm199 and it has easy set-up, just plug and play. It has 4 ports and u can create wireless access point!
*
RM199 for 3G router is considered cheap at this moment, some more it's 802.11n... i checked from Aztech webpage for product spec, it only supports up to UMTS (3G) only? I believe it should support 3.5G....

anyone know what is the different between HW550-3G and HW831?

Things seem to have returned to normal throughout of today. Youtube speed has restored and everything... seems to be as usual. I wonder what yesterday's congestion about.

By the way, I will be scouting for the HW550-3G router tonight.  rclxms.gif
*
just a tip when you're exploring the router... when i explored my CNet CWR635M, i found some types of modem doesn't work perfectly, e.g frequent disconnection... rest assure that digi BB is way much stable than other ISP...

so, if you have frequent disconnection issue with the router, look for a new firmware rather than calling up Digi CS... smile.gif

Now I just need the centralized data usage. So I can track my usage over a few PCs...
*
yes, with the router, it's hard to monitor your usage on your own... that's the main reason why i keep on asking Digi to allow us to track our usage via Digi OCS... too bad it's going to take a few months for Digi to come out the solution...

Kudos to Digi BB for taking such an initiative to serve the customer...

Reputation for Digi BB is remarkable good, as of now... I think the most important task for Digi right now is to maintain the service quality while expanding the coverage...

I'm proud of a Digi BB now and hope this will last until "Bolehland" become truly Boleh!

Let me starts with a question to Digi...

Why Jul bill for my Digi BB is still not ready? It's already 7 days after my billing date...

if you didn't receive a bill through snail mail, you can check it via www.digi.com.my/ocs . But you need to register first. biggrin.gif
*
Of course, i have already checked it via OCS but the bill is still not ready...

I think one of the reason for Digi to sponsor this special thread is to better serve customer, so would appreciate those Digi personnel can identify themselves via their signature or etc...

So that we know the answer is from Digi but not from customer (or speculation from customer)...

The coverage area in the web is not accurate. Mine is shown not covered but in fact it is in the coverage area.
Digi is expanding their network in Penang. Digi will have covered 90% of Penang in septemper according to a digi employee.
*
90% of PG? Wow... that's very aggressive coz Digi has just launched BB in PG for ~ 3 months only...

Ya... good to have official Digi people to answer our question, otherwise, all the Q&A are just speculation unless somebody take the initiative to confirm with Digi CS...

I have a question here:
Almost every time when i called Digi CS, i'm sure to highlight my eagerness of having the on-line/real time usage monitoring tool in Digi OCS... but, all the time have been disappointed by the reply that Digi will need some time to have the system up & running. Technically, is this really difficult? (Sorry, i'm not a technical ppl here)

From technical point of view, it's not that difficult to have such thing. But a lot of implementation and testing for bugs need to be done first.

Imagine if the monitoring tool was faulty and record/display the wrong usage info. it will be a disaster.
*
Hi spoonie,
I believe you're from Digi... welcome!

In order to speed up the release, probably Digi can engage some users as beta users which will definitely shorten the time...

So, let the real users perform the testing for Digi and I'm more than happy to be one of them...

I learn that u-mobile has such a package at RM68, some more it's unlimited smile.gif

i have been trying to get the "lucky draw" for so many months without any luck, it's based on first come first serve basis. So, i don't treat it as lucky draw...

hi...any1 experience problem with their digi BB especially in USJ area...I feeling my line getting slower...
*
What is your speedtest result? Last weekend, i felt the line was slow too but when i did speedtest, the speed was still at 1Mbps/0.3Mbps... since i'm not a technical person, then i leave it to appropriate ppl to answer this...

so how is the digi broadband guys? my gf want to apply it but what i know is it has not cover all the area in malaysia yet right?
*
yes, coverage is one big area for digi to improve, also a method for user to monitor their usage (due to extra charges when over the quota)... except for that everything just fine to me

Everything = download speed, upload speed, stability, reliability, customer service
