QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 27 2009, 02:08 PM) I believe DiGi will do something to counter congestion problem. If it isn't, then it will be in a big trouble because congestion is the main issue for other providers. Additionally, the most concerned issue by the subscribers. Yes, i start to see more issue with my Digi BB nowadays, like inconsistent speed between HSDPA & Edge which i can see it directly from the light of my modem...Digi... it's time to show you're smarter now... |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Jul 27 2009, 03:40 PM) Yeah yeah, the modem will momentarily drop to Blue light (Edge?) when it is idling. Then when it is needed again , it'll hop back to Blue+Green light (HSDPA). The dashboard doesn't indicate this switch at all, it'll still showing HSDPA. Also I notice my browsers don't 'stop' properly upon successfully load a page. It'll keep running and running even though all the components of the page has been downloaded. I don't think my case happened due to inactive session... the speed was dropped to Edge for a few hours while i was surfing the net... |

Yes... i think this is to avoid a huge bill at the end of the month... to me, RM138 is way too far from RM58 for discover package... it should be max RM88 for discover package.which means totally different from explore/discover package which u can extent ur usage to capped RM138 n then baru la kena throttled kan? nobe here |

yes, the inconsistency only happen at certain time... and everything will back to normal after certain time...
I think Digi should do something before the situation become worse... |

I think Digi personnel should say something over this slowness issue instead of let the users do all the speculation...
But, long time i don't see any reply from Digi personnel already... |

QUOTE(techsavvy123 @ Jul 28 2009, 07:48 PM) thats y hv to choose carefully the plan before taking it. if u hardly DL stuff, discover plan shd be OK. thanks for all your comment....Discover RM58 for 3GB usage volume. Additional 10MB is additional 0.15. Explre RM108 for 10GB. Additional 10MB is additional 0.05 only. 3 times cheaper than discover There is a plan recommender in their website to help to decide which plan to take. http://www.digi.com.my/broadband/recommend_v2.html I'm a very budget minded ppl and i learnt all of these before i subscribed to my Digi BB... i'm just suggesting to Digi that it should allow customer to choose their limit, instead of the default RM138... like postpaid service, i can have my limit at RM100, RM200 or RM1000... Added on July 29, 2009, 10:10 am QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 29 2009, 09:35 AM) As I said earlier, please use comma in your sentences and break them into few parts. You are making our life difficult by reading to your posts. May I know the original objective for Digi to sponsor this forum? I think we need to make this clear so that ppl wouldn't mis-use the forum. Normally, ppl tend to get mad when they're frustrated with their broadband and will just complaint till up side down, probably, they expect someone to answer the complaint... if nothing happen after many times of complaint, then ppl will say anything that they can think of...Secondly, allow me to correct you, it is "lag" and not "leg". Spoil DiGi? OK I got what you mean. Well, everyone is open to comment DiGi, they need these constructive comments and criticisms to improvise their service. Obviously only people like you who want to listen to only good compliments. Come on, wake up and face the world. Everything has flaws and nothing is perfect. Do you expect DiGi spent on this board to listen to compliments only? For God's sake. There is a saying - Look before you leap. Anyway, in this context it means think wisely before you talk. So, if the objective is clear than we can just simply route the person to correct channel, rather than keep on doing something unproductive... wondering if somebody else also have similar issue... Added on July 29, 2009, 10:12 am btw, my Jul bill is still not ready... and my bill date used to be 12 of every month... it's over 12 working days already. QUOTE(CalvinCLK @ Jul 30 2009, 08:38 AM) Hi all.. I am new in wireless broadband. Want to ask a few questions before deciding to switch to Digi. my answer as follow:1) is high-rise building suitable to use this? i heard some comments that high rise building will suffer from signal weakness. 2) what type of modem is suitable for bb? anyone tried using a router + 3g modem as access point? how's it? Thanks.. 1. Somebody tested wireless broadband on a high-rise building and manage to get a good signal... but, the best thing is to test with your hand phone at your location. This is the best answer that nobody can beat it... 2. Any type of HSDPA modem should work... actually, Digi is giving free modem now. Yes, i'm using my Sierra 885 with a 3.5G wireless router now (CNet 635M). So far, no problem with this combination.... by the way, somebody found Aztech also launch a new 3G wireless router which is just RM199... |

QUOTE(wxnwyxn @ Jul 31 2009, 01:56 AM) PC Fair Promotion for DiGi Broadband So, it's RM88 for the first year right? After that, it'll be RM108 with no extra charges when exceeding the limit right? RM88 Explore Pkg with 10GB and NO extra changes for additional usage. Free MODEM wo.. But you may visit Low Yat or Digital Mall for above promotion , if you 're not going for PC fair . Can I convert my current account to this? Added on July 31, 2009, 8:32 am QUOTE(davidmak @ Jul 31 2009, 07:50 AM) By standard procedures if your residential address does not fall within their network coverage, they will not allow you to apply. One of Digi's way to maintain customer satisfaction (I think), in case you applied but then found out speed is slow due to no coverage. I wonder if you can declare that you're renting a place (different from residential address) that falls within coverage? After all with mobile broadband, you're not fixed to one location. I'm using CNet... from both technical spec and price point of view, I think Aztech HW550-3G beats CNet (provided you can get RM199). From the physical look and mobility point of view, i love CNet than Aztech. It's very compact, no external power adapter/antenna... can carry to everywhere easily... but, the price is quite expensive with 802.11g only (RM280 from Garage sale at this moment)... Btw, my CNet come with 2 years warranty...For HSPA router, you may either try Aztech HW550-3G or the CNET. The CNET one is more compact and look like an Apple product. Not sure about the coverage in house though. Also, I've never seen it in Lowyat Plaza or other places except for Garage Section. The Aztech HW550-3G is widely available but you have to be careful of their price. Retail price is only RM199 while others sell higher. Check out the PC Fair. Probably have more options or cheaper... For me, the Aztech HW550-3G has been marvelous. I did a small review few pages back and revealed (through other sources) that its quite high-end on the specifications. N speed is fast, 1 USB port (but can support USB hub) which can connect to printer, HDD, etc and the signal quality and range is excellent. Wow! Nice package too! No extra charges for additional usage. Hehehehe! This post has been edited by ks98: Jul 31 2009, 08:42 AM |

For current PC fair promotion, if i'm using discover package now, then can I upgrade to this new explore package?
From Digi web site, it mentioned that this is only for new explore package... so, is upgrading from discover package considered as new explore package subscription? Added on July 31, 2009, 2:24 pmi think Digi BB probably need to revise the limit for Discover package to 5GB in order to make it much more competitive.... Just found out that P1 has launched it's WIGGY 69 plan with 5GB @ 800kbps... Byte by byte comparison, WIGGY 69 is more attractive and I foresee P1 will use this point to promote WIGGY 69 against Digi discover package... However, i dun know if we really can achieve the 800kbps as claimed by P1 and i hate the so called 12 month & 24 month contracts... furthermore, it needs additional 12 month contract just for a RM299 WIGGY modem, which is ridiculous and truly unjustifiable... This is what i asked a P1 promoter when he approached me... "In current broadband market, do you think RM299 is justifiable with a 24 months contract? Furthermore, your WIGGY only come with 1 year warranty, it makes no sense... And, if i don't like P1, what should I do with my WIGGY?" If Digi can increase to 5GB, I'm sure NO WAY for P1 to beat Digi BB in another 5 years... or even 10 years!!! P1, another BB company which disappointed me... Digi BB is still the best that i can see at the market... This post has been edited by ks98: Jul 31 2009, 02:24 PM |

QUOTE(clance @ Aug 2 2009, 03:55 PM) Anyone got any ideas how to check the latest updates on total usage used up? I read from digi website that we can actually find it in ocs, but after i logged in, I couldn't any information on these. Currently, there is no centralized location for you to check your latest usage, despite of the Digi webiste faq said that you can monitor your usage via their OCS (i think Digi should remove that faq). I could check on from the modem statistic, but I notice that it only recorded the usage of separate pc/laptop respectively. End up i will need to do the calculation myself by adding how many usage consumed in pc1, then pc2, then pc3. There should be an easier way, right? I must have missed up something. At this point of time, only you can track your usage manually... i have highlighted this to Digi and they are working on this now... Added on August 3, 2009, 9:25 am QUOTE(davidmak @ Aug 2 2009, 04:53 PM) In my opinion, they need not put a base station in BU itself. They can always use places around BU like around Kerinchi Link road, etc and then shoot signals into BU. I see a lot of towers around BU. Places like the Menara Star, Phileo, etc also can use (I think). But I guess there's no coverage in BU yet since you're not getting any 3G signal. But Edge yes. Btw, the "unbilled transaction" in OCS is not accurate and should not use this to track your usage...I don't think OCS has any indicator on your total usage. Currently there's no centralized indicators but I heard it is in the works. However, you can always use the 'unbilled amount' as an indicator to your usage. If you rely on the dashboard counter and use Digi Broadband on a few computers, yes, you need add them up. Try monitoring your usage for 3 months, then you'll see how much you actually use. If your total usage cannot even exceed 5GB in a month, then you're pretty safe. Just use without any worries. Added on Looks like a lot of incorrect or unclear information have been passed to customer during the PC fair... i think digi should provide a full list of faq to sale personnels or promoters in order not to mislead the customer... And this is part of a proactive measure to preserve the good reputation of Digi broadband... I started to see some complaints over Digi BB which to me are not valid ()... I'm one of Digi BB customer and constantly follow up Digi BB package and promotion (even finish reading the FUP t&c last time)... a lot of questions/concerns posted recently (especially after the PC fair) should be clearly explained during the sign-up... this will slowly spoil the image of Digi... QUOTE(ihawk98 @ Aug 4 2009, 09:35 PM) Sorry for late reply. missed this question from you. Google for user review on this router and looks like it's not a good choice due to the speed will slow down when downloading concurrently (more than 1 user). This defeat the purpose of having a router. It is Huawei D100. looks like this. you just stick the modem in the top part and all computers at home can share your connection. Ya... yesterday the speed at my area was bad too (near Bayan Baru PG). This post has been edited by ks98: Aug 5 2009, 08:52 AM |

QUOTE(hwa_thai_see @ Aug 5 2009, 11:43 AM) Just signed-up Digi Broadband in PC fair last Saturday. When I ask the sales girl whether my home Kepong Taman Ehsan is under coverage and she told me yes. When I go home, and I found the speed of the broadband is so slooooow. Its signal is o EDGE. What should I do? if your billing address is not covered by Digi 3G, then they should not allow you to register... so, pls check your location if it's covered by Digi BB, http://www.digi.com.my/broadband/coverage.htmlI don't want to go back to TMnuts, coz everyday from 8pm to 12am there will be no connection.... If yes, then you can ask for a refund of the advance payment (but don't expect for a full refund due to stamp duty and pro-rated use). faq from Digi webpage: Q31. What if I am not able to use the broadband service in my home? Can I terminate the broadband service? A31. If the broadband service is not available at the billing address provided by the subscriber during registration, and the billing address is within the broadband coverage area, a customer can return the modem at any DiGi Centre within 7 days from the date of registration provided the modem and its packaging are in good condition. DiGi will fully refund the advance payment taking into account the stamp duty and pro-rated use of the service. The refund of advance payment will be sent to the billing address via cheque within 12 weeks from the service discontinuation date. No other charges will be imposed to the subscriber. Added on August 5, 2009, 1:35 pm QUOTE(davidmak @ Aug 5 2009, 01:22 PM) Actually how sure are you that this 'imposed' thing is for p2p, file sharing sites? Cause I am experiencing general slowness even on any websites. yes, i agree on this... no matter how or when, the speed should be at least 700kbps/200kbps at 70% of the time (as what is claimed by Digi) before it's throttled. By the way, I have no objections on the bandwidth quota and the throttling after exceeding this quota. But by imposing time/period limitation is like forcing something down our throats we didn't signed up for. Whatever we do within the subscribed/agreed quota has nothing to do Digi. You can't limit us. Of course, if this is even true. But, one question across my mind just now... how to measure this 70%? This post has been edited by ks98: Aug 5 2009, 01:35 PM |
