Bro, don't you worry cos if AFs do cause bird flu, I am the first one to get it cos I don't wear any or use mask of any kind while I am with the birds.
I do what I preached and since I said that AF is safe, I will put my life in what I believe. Even the shit is safe as I too, do not wear mask while cleaning shit or harvesting nests cos I feel more comfortable and safer although I don't encourage others from doing so...........and JPV is dead against the idea. At present, I can put all my faith and money on it but cannot promised that in the future if human hand feed AF and keep and breed them like chicken and maybe giving them antibiotic, crossed breeding or steroid to make them grow bigger and faster and maybe produce 10 nests per Kilo, anything can happen......

Coming to the 10 nests per Kilo, I have a joke to share....I met a BH friend and ask him how's his BH . "Oh!, only one bird with 2 eggs and the nest almost a Kilo" was his replied. Ah..I laughed and laughed and "Really" he said pointing at his pant and the nest is the swallow nests infront of his BH at the ceiling.

Infact, I do have this secured feeling that EBN can prevent H1N1 or other bird flu lah and I take EBN regularly...just a my own feeling as EBN is best for the cold and cough, right? 4B1N1 IS MORE DEADLY THAN THE AH1N1


Bird’s flu kills less than hundred people in the whole world per year. Human common flu kills by the millions a year.

If there is a wide spread of bird’s flu, all the livestock such as chicken, ducks, pigs, goats, cattle, dogs, cats, pets and all types of birds that walk the ground and that mix freely with other birds or animals etc are the first to go. All human being including those from the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar will follow suit. The AF shall be the only one still living. Do you know why? AF doesn’t mix with other animals and never land on ground. They eat only live flying insects. So their chance of getting inflicted of bird’s flu is the lowest among all living beings next to those live in the water. Your chance of getting stroked by lighting or choked to death for eating is hundred times higher than getting bird’s flu from AF. Dying from cancer is a few thousands time higher.

Why do we so worry of AH1N1? It is just another new strain of human flu? It started as a cross breeds between pig flu and human flu that mutated into AH1N1 that can inflict both animals and human being. Because it is totally new, so our body doesn’t have the antibodies to counter it initially. We tend to suffer more in recovering than common flu. For those exceptionally weak, this flu may weaken the body resistance and lead to other complications or ailments that cause fatal. For those who recover, antibodies already built. Eventually, it becomes common flu. Already few hundred Malaysians got it and all recovered. Only one foreigner died because of other complications.

As compared to AH1N1, the MAD COW disease is very much worst and rampant. It is already in existence for many decades in Malaysia. It is still very common especially in kampong. Human gets it from cattle but yet Malaysians still eat beef from even cattle suspected suffered from MAD COW disease. Just check with the kampong folks. Occasionally, the kampong folks just quietly slaughtered off the cows that went mad privately without the veterinary’s inspection and certification. Have you attended the Kenduri in kampong? The folks just killed and slaughtered the cow or buffalo right in front of you. I attended countless times of such functions and just loved to eat the beef. I ever mentioned of MAD COW disease to the folks. Do you know what their replies are? MAD MAN disease is worst than MAD COW disease.

As compared to the AH1N1, there exists an even more powerful and dangerous virus that inflicts on only Malaysian men for many decades. One common symptom is that most men suffered from this disease died on beds. The joke is all Malaysian men know the potential risk of this deadly disease but yet they do not mind and in fact are very happy and dying to be inflicted with this disease.

This is a special strain of virus that is more deadly than the AH1NI. It inflicts most married men causing restricted mobility, speech impairment, extreme stress, high BP, and uncontrolled fits of rage. There is no cure in sight and may stay with victim forever till his death on the bed. Many of my personal friends are suffering from this. It is called……”4B1N1” (4 BINI)

Cement smell is not a problem but the dust from building the BH.....wash the BH wall and floor many times so that any residue will be wash away include all cement dust or other dirts so that the dust/smell will not discourage the staying of birds. Sound,......well. play anytime and some BH even hve birds playing in their Bh before it even finished.

Aroma or perfume maybe apply later to attract the birds to the BH making the birds to believe that the new BH infact was an old BH with all the smell of birds staying in the BH before.....

Never wait as time is precious and make sure that you wet the wall but try to avoid the planks.

Thanks. For H1N1 prevention, take Birdnests everyday and more reasons to take it if any intention to go oversea.

Yes, I also agree that cement smell would not cause any problem. But, too much of cement dust direct ingestion thru the respiratory tract is no good to us, as well as the birds.

As we know, cement is an alkaline substance, and that is why the engineer use it to encase the steel reinforcement bar to prevent corrosion or any acidic attack and to increase the durability.

Any direct contact with the cement dropping, dust, powder, compound, liquid may cause inflammation to the skin.

So, imagine your birds if accidentally touch on the cementitious surface, what would be the consequences?

Washing with the water may neutralise it. You can check the pH with the pH paper or litmus paper.

Add with ammonia (ammonium hydroxide) may worsen it coz ammonia is an alkali.

I may be wrong, this is my little science knowledge. Correct me if I am wrong.

That's I want to know Hahaha cos INDO is having a decline of EBN cos.

1. Overharvesting (like in our caves) and so no new birds fledged since years ago.
2. Old birds died and no new Birds.

So, how are we going to get the new birds from INDO ( overspilled, hahaha) when INDO is facing a decline of EBN meaning lesser birds............ and it is going to be worst in INDO in the future if the BHs owners there don't repent.

So, your new fledged birds need to come from the towns. Malaysia will face the similar situation if we follow the INDO' ways and please don't blame on the lack of insects cos my EBNs seem be much bigger than last year ....meaning good food still available and plentiful.

As per former pics PM to me, your interior nesting area is receiving too much of the light from the entrance hole which directly shing into your nesting area.....as from your pics showing. By Staying, I presumed that you mean the AFs are starting to build nests and not just shits that you see. If the above is what actually happened, let it be as I did mentioned that sometime and somehow, the AFs do even stay at the entrance or near the entrance which is really very bright. If the birds like it, why change........

Birds like us too, sometime, we can't predict what they will do. Even sometime we do the renovation to perfection and still no bird stay. If the birds started to stay, let it be; wait and see as I always say. When good thing comes, let it run and when bad, change it fast.

My dear friend, please be specific that we should not one broad sweep hitting everybody. There are good Chinese, bad Chinese, good Malay, bad Malay, good Indian, bad Indian, good Siamese, bad Siamese and so on and so on………in every ethnic group, community and organization. Sometime the bad Chinese, the bad Malay and the bad Indian ganged up together to bully or victimize anybody regardless of race they come across. Just take for an example the Johor State proposed guidelines, who are the one in front? The bad corrupted Malay officials. Who are the one behind conspiring and instigating them? The Mari Cari Ayam gang. Who are going to be the victims? All races involved in the BH trade. So, let’s do be more mindful so not to hurt the innocent, please. I do agree there exist some racists that need to be exposed and if possible, punished. But, please be specific and point straight to the culprit and not in general in this case. Apologise for me to point out what I feel is not that proper here.

We are grown up and gentleman. This forum welcomes anybody who is sincere to voice up sensible opinions, ideas, and problems or to learn from one and other. It doesn’t matter whether they are BH owners or not or whether they are ECO-PARK owners, just as long as they are sincere and able to speak with sensibility and to contribute beneficially to most.

ECO-PARK operations and BH operations in township can coexist. We should be very open minded and give ourselves opportunity to learn what the sincere ECO-PARK operator can tell us and teach us as most of us here are not familiar with ECO-PARK operations. Remember, not everyone could be like us here have the opportunity, time and finance to own and manage a BH by himself. ECO-PARK could be a way out for this group to participate in this industry. We cannot stop ECO-PARK operations and vice verse ECO-PARKS cannot do monopoly. All of us are in the same industry and on the same boat. We can always debate; argue on technicality, feasibility and exchange ideas for win-win. Isn’t that is the objective of this forum? So, let’s welcome the ECO-PARKS to join in and see what they have to say with the beneficial ideas they can offer for us to learn from.

Since the last few days, I have been very busy helping DL and his gang doing some volunteer works. DL and his gang are sponsoring and organising a very big event in Sungai Petani for the 1st TEOH BENG HOCK MEMORIAL in Kedah on the 3rd of August in Dewan Lip Siang Kor at 8pm. He is doing it above all political parties and races. I just came back from helping a group of volunteers comprising Chinese, Malays and Indians putting up countless banners covering the whole town. This MEMORIAL is open to all. Understand many big guns and national celebrities from MCA, DAP, GERAKAN, PKR, PAS, MIC, UMNO and NGOs of multi-racial will attend to pay the respect. This is non-political event. For only ONE MALAYSIAN. Respond is surprisingly overwhelming and warming and it is expected to be huge crowd and could be another national record breaking hopefully. Anybody in this forum living nearby would like to go to support a good cause? Anyway, DL is having a national record of collected 120 thousands signatures in a single state against the infamous KEDAH STATE CRAZY HIKE IN CUKAI TANAH in 2007 which to the many political analysts was the root that led to the political tsunami in Kedah. This record is also a national record in any signature campaign ever conducted in Malaysia.


Talking of signature campaign may be this could be used against the stupid national guidelines if necessary. Why not give it a serious thought? This sort of peaceful campaign has been proven very effective in creating public awareness of government department abuses. May be we can use it against any abusive department that is victimising the industry now?
