just came back from it. the atmosphere was ok. SFIV machine has the most crowd. but too bad it's on a 360 instead of a PS3, timing feels very different for me. can only do combos but not links.
quite a few number of people there, can hear passers by go "HEY! IT'S STREET FIGHTER!"
hahaha
The 360 Hori stick... no comment. kekeke, i sucked on it real bad.

There is no difference to the PS3 as far as I know (besides stuff like online systems and such).

The main difference I think would be the arcade stick, which isn't a very good one. Okay stick, okay buttons. I was missing combos left and right too.

Arcade stick are hard to come by these day, I only left two units for Xbox 360 Console. Can't get the PlayStation 3 Version due to "no stock" at the mean time. If I do have I won't hesitate to let people try out.

Well, Hopefully can get the Tournament Stick soon.

Darkstalker, You were there as well right?

Yup! I met Alan and he conned me and my gf to pose like Goku and humiliate ourselves. tongue.gif

Beat 3 guys in SF, but didn't want to hog the machine so that other people can have a go at the game, and we left soon after that.

was at tropicana mall too mid-afternoon.

ps3 hori rapro3 sticks better, but still good stress reliever .
xbox sticks acceptable, still could do some stuff.

great to play ryu vs. ppl instead of cpu hardest lvl.
the arcade experience in sg is still better though.

That thing in your picture...DO YOU OWN IT?! :@

The 360 sticks I think were Hori EX2s. I heard the 360 also has a Real Arcade Pro but I've never seen it myself.

I've tried x360 HRAP before. It's the same as PS3 except that I heard that you can't use it on your computer to play PC games with it.

The Street Fighter 4 Xbox 360 Arcade stick is actually the same model as their predecessor. (For those who wants to know, The IC Chip and Plastic mold is the same as Dead Or Alive 4 and Soul Calibur 4) they just actually change the Picture Sticker laugh.gif

Maybe I should customize the Stick with more weight. ( You can't compare the Hori SFIV PS3 Version, Cause of the weight and "Feel")

Hey, Jason?
=)
it was a great GH booth there, it's always nice to see all these old school people gathering aroudn the place for a game or two.
i played quite a few rounds and i even lost to a spammer for a few times lol.

i think the stick there was this one was it?
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dd-49-en-70-26p2.html
the buttons were a little too stick and not responsive for me, maybe i'm used to my HRAP3's soft buttons. the stick is a little too short... i cant do hadoken consistantly lol.

it wasn't the console actually, it might be due to the screen display latency and the uncomfy stick that stopped us from doing all the stuff we are so used to do. but then, it shouldnt be a big problem for all those who uses it for the first time.
maybe it was the screen latency that made the game timing a little different.

Aiman you were therE? damn i missed you two, would be nice to play against you on a machine we both arent familiar with, might give me a faint chance of beating you by spamming. hahahhaa.

and i didnt see Alan, maybe he was somewhere backstage busying.
nice event, wished that i could stay for longer. unfortunately i had something going on.

and yes, judging by the number of spammers and smashers (they smash the buttons as if it deals more damage), your stick will be gone if the event last for another day.
hahaha
how nice of you for placing such nice sticks there.

Haha, Spammer indeed. I see they turn my arcade stick I also want to faint already laugh.gif

Yup, That is the same as you are using on our booth.

I think our setting for Street Fighter 4 for the arcade stick is too high.. Should have find a table lower for the arcade stick And of course a stick that does not move around laugh.gif

Didn't see alan ? he was the one wearing dragon ball shirt. (today was purple I think)

but lucky can find spare part for the stick, if not my "heart pain" biggrin.gif

That is one of the worst things I've ever heard.

About ACGC, I saw Alan, he was in the orange Goku shirt again. Might be screen delay latency, you may be right. Is there a way to test this? I'm using a standard definition TV but I dunno if I'm just playing bad the past few days or if I'm reacting much slower cause of the screen.

Might also have something to do with a lack of chairs/tables where I play. tongue.gif

Hi Jason, did not see you there yesterday. Actually wanted to thank you and GH for the machine setup as me and my friends enjoyed a few short sessions there. It's quite good and generous of GH to have SF4 on a HD setup there. The 360 sticks were comfortable enough and ideal to take on the crowd punishment for that day, so no use sacrificing a good premium stick. Screen distance was also good and the table height was quite ok, though some kids may complain of it being set up too high.

I was straying my eyes to the RE5 setup too, which was great to see side-by-side 2-player action. Had some spoilers for me though, but great nonetheless. The atmosphere while I was there was overall enjoyable as it was close to the cosplay judging event. Didn't expect Namewee to make an appearance too.

Hey Alan, you were busy but I was also there!

Yo,

Was there with rawfish, Ex_Guile and mikeeeeee (couldn't be bothered to remember how many e's you have lah, hahaha). Had a few casual games. As per rawfish's comment, everything was fine.

The Xbox360 Hori Stick was good. It shares the same form factor of the Hori PS3 Fighting Stick 3 but only with 6 buttons. Everything was good. I only had one complain. The booth "tutup kedai" too early. I ordered Domino's to be delivered there, so can eat and play at the same time. HAHAHAHA. Thanks GH for the booth.

Alan, I saw you there too. You're posing with the mini GoKu. Hahaha.

P/S: No noticeable difference between the 360 and PS3's SF4. It's either I am very numb or you guys are over-sensitive. Plays and feels the same to me.

Hi Alan,
You may want to look into this, for more tournament rules/setups in future. This is for this year's EVO:
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=181540

QUOTE
Street Fighter IV
• Game version: US Playstation 3
• Game Settings: Versus Mode, 99 Seconds, No Handicap
• If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select.
• Tournament Structure: To be determined. Tentatively 2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, Double Elimination.

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike 2on2
• Game version: US Playstation 2
• Game Settings: Team Play, 2/3 Rounds, Round Time 99 Seconds
• All players must keep the character throughout the tournament, but may change super art.
• Gill is not allowed in tournament play.
• The in-game judgment feature will be used to determine the outcome of draw games.
• Each team must consist of two unique characters.
• Each Player must play one game. If players from different teams win, a playoff occurs with the players that won the earlier game.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix
• Game version: US Playstation 3
• Game Settings: Versus Mode, Speed 3, 2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, Remixed Mode.
• Akuma is not allowed in tournament play.
• Version 1.10
2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches would be nice depending the number of participants vs allocated time. 2on2 for SF4 would also be nice. Note that they haven't banned Seth. I think this is because it's the first time the console-SF4 is being played in a major US tournament hence they would like to see how pro-Seth players fair against the other characters - and determine if is he truly broken or not. If a char is banned without ever further exploration, it's a waste, right?
