yup. i agree that if someone becomes a victim of theft, the more expensive the phone, the more the loss, so sometimes it it better to just use a cheapo phone.

but i don't think it's really that using expensive phones makes a person the target of thieves. most thieves will take every available opportunity they have to steal/snatch a phone, even those costing about RM100. money is still money to them. it's up to the phone user to try and protect themselves from this by watching their surroundings, although it may not work if you are at knife/gun-point.

yeah i do agree. the most important thing is to make sure u take caution whenever u are using a phone regardless whether it is expensive or not, like when u r talking on a phone, using/typing on a phone, even the pockets u put your phones in..

I think the IMX060PQ is the sensor used in Idou, as its newly developed by Sony in Nov '08, and the shipment date will be Mar '09, witch is quite close to the Idou release date Q2 '09.

I've targeted this gadget too! I hope it can make it by Christmas.

Yeah, the article mentioned about its 'Exmor' family qualities. Hopefully they will implement the same design implementations for mobile phones. So we'll get good noise characteristics for such a high resolution sensor chip. The Exmor was pretty successful with the A700 followed by the full frame A900. Anyway this Idou sounds like an entertainment phone with focus on music. Another high end Walkman phone? I wonder they will have something for the 'Cybershot' only phone in their sleeves. Or maybe Idou is part of a new line of smartphones, since UIQ has been dropped off?

idou is under the new 'entertainment unlimited' line... where they are lookin to combine the best of walkman and the cybershot... so most probably a new initial? we'll know somewhere in may when they shed more light on the idou.

actually i really fantasied that one day Sony will just use their Tseries camera body and mechanism, and just add that mobilephone thingy.. hahahahah since canon and nikon arent phone makers.

my guess, Idou will be the camera focused multimedia phone due to the 12.1mp. or they just want to create the hype of 12.1mp becoz in 8mp race, Samsung started it 1st. again, no point doing a MP races when they dont fix that stupid compression and detail loss. they(phone makers) seems to forget that now we have 8gb and 16gb card. come on... 12mp photo wont take much of space now...

This phone is rock!!! finally SE come out with this kick ass phone, not only great specs, but really stylish design. it give me the feel of Sony Clie during those old PDA era!!!
But 12.1MP is really over spec for a non production printing. it not just bring up the price, but slow down the speed between shots!! for me 3.2MP is good enough for most of our daily use!!!
