woot...so easy?

Added on March 17, 2009, 10:41 pmanywa, i installed garmin, and there is a problem with the files on the garmin folder..
when i open gallery, i found out that there are some imagine file that cannot be opened, the name is unicode_CP350, for example..i found out that it's in the garmin/font folder, and it's actually a .bin file..
is there anyway that i can remove this few 'broken images' from my gallery without deleting them?
*
Lazy to explain again. tongue.gif Search for _pAlbTn keyword in N82 V5 or V6, or maybe V4 thread.

i delete the files from the _pAlbTn folder??
*
Yes, delete the _pAlbTn folder also (and all sub-directories and files inside). It stores the thumbnail images for Gallery.

Then set the image files in Garmin folder to hidden.

For those that have covered the red light with a blu-tac, can it completely block the light? Because if we just use our fingers the light still penetrates our fingers =/

Also, when peeling off the blu-tac, does it leave any oily residue?

The N82 is a great phone with a great camera, but the shutter sound + red light is driving me crazy o_O Such a shame.
*
Must cover thicker layer. Otherwise, in between the blu-tack layer, put some non-transparent piece.

Blu-tack is non oily and will not leave residue. If may leave a bit residue, but it you keep on roll over with blu-tac (like kneading the roti canai dough tongue.gif ) it will come off easily.

Yes, similiar like plasticine, but is non oily (although officially, blu-tack has oil as ingredient). I bought another brand, 3 strips for RM1.60. So far only used up very little, not even 5%.

Are you using Nokia's web browser? I always use Opera Mini to surf the web  biggrin.gif But sometimes Mini can't render the page correctly (rare) so that's why I keep the default browser around.

Last time my PC had problems, my phone became my mini computer too.  Having N82 around is indeed very useful  tongue.gif
*
I use only Nokia web browser, even though I have Opera (Mini?), partially due to same pb like you. But what I do is simple browsing like web email and news website for latest update.

Original housing is one set: front and back. I think also include the silver camera part. I remember cost about RM250-350+

Side bar button, not sure. Anyone who changed before can contribute ?

Yup, enable all hidden file.... copy all the hidden file too. i think the SW.UNL not working.
*
Hope you still keep the 2GB card intact. How about try this:
1) Put the 2GB into N82.
2) From N82, goto Menu -> Tools -> Utilities -> Memory -> Options -> Backup Phone Memory -> Yes (if asked to overwrite)
3) Watch and ensure the process is completed without errors. It may take couple of minutes.
4) Copy again (include hidden & system) from 2GB to 8GB. To verify the Phone Memory backup is there, it should be in E:\Backup\
5) Plug 8GB into N82 and follow #2 menu, but run "Restore from Memory Card"

you need to obtain a new code to put in SW.unl
*
No lah. I already test:
1) Same N82, copy from 2GB to 8GB. It works.
2) Different N82, install as usual but did not hack (note: no hack means no piracy). Just plug in my 2GB card and it works.

Both also I use the Restore Phone Memory steps above cause:
1) Just to be safe, restore back everything after upgrade to 8GB.
2) I'm borrowing the phone for some time and need to restore all the Contacts, SMS, settings, etc.

The weird thing I notice is, from my N82 unit, I got my GPS ID (e.g. 123456). Then I follow the steps I mention above to backup and restore into 2nd N82 unit. Then I open GMXT v4 (at that time), it shows the same GPS ID as my 1st N82 unit blink.gif Maybe that is why it works ?

N82 support up to 16G memory right? With this large capacity would N82 become slow when we use to store a lot of mp3, video and picture?
Anyone ever exprience problem using large capacity memory?
*
N82 supports up to max 32GB micro-SDHC cards. That's SDHC standardization max limit for now. However, micro-SDHC only launched up to 16GB so far. Upcoming will be SDXC cards rclxub.gif

SDHC = Secure Digital High Capacity, max at 32GB
SDXC = Secure Digital eXtended Capacity, max at 2TB

Someone pls update this details into 1st page. Thank you.

will wait for SXDC..???
shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif
*
Sorry, N82 (and all the other Nokia, SE, M, LG, Samsung, etc.) only support the SHDC standards. There are no devices (including digicam, digivideo, SSD, etc.) that support SDXC now. It is still in standardization process and not 100% done yet.

By the time SDXC comes out, it will be mainly for digital Full HD videocam. Followed by pro-digital camera. Then only will come in reduce size for micro-SDXC, M2/M3? (for Sony format), etc.

QUOTE(alpha_company @ Apr 2 2009, 04:23 PM)
We've havent yet see the true use of 16gb capacity for phones so a 1 or 2TB memory card will see a long wait in terms of implementation in phones.

Big memory usually means movies on the go but these will usually effect large screen lcd phones like touchscreen phones.
*
The first implementation for SDXC will be 64GB or 128GB cards. Marketing and sales ploy for technology items.
