Nokia N82, the latest multimedia computer optimized for photography, navigation and internet connectivity. With the tools to discover the places and moments worth capturing, and the capabilities to capture and share them instantaneously, the Nokia N82 offers photography enthusiasts an enhanced camera experience.

Discover, capture and share
The Nokia N82 enables you to explore your surroundings and find your way with navigation and routing; document your adventures with the high quality imaging capabilities; and instantly share your experiences with one click upload to the web.

Featuring A-GPS, 5 megapixel camera, Xenon flash, Carl Zeiss optics and internet connectivity, the Nokia N82 also incorporates all the multimedia computer features common to Nokia Nseries. like its predecessor the Nokia N95, the Nokia N82 is the latest epitome of a truly converged device that is not one thing but is many.

Discover the world
The powerful A-GPS and preinstalled* Nokia Maps help you explore and locate new places, whether in another country or just around the corner. All Nokia N82 standard sales packages come with a free voice guided navigation trial*, and you can purchase additional features, such as city guides and longer subscription to the navigation.

With access to more than 15 million points of interest, you can locate and navigate to the most interesting sights, bars or restaurants wherever you are. You can also send map excerpts and routes to friends by MMS or save map screen shots to the gallery.

Capture your experiences
With a 5 megapixel camera, powerful Xenon flash and Carl Zeiss optics, the Nokia N82 delivers remarkably vivid photographs, even in low-light conditions. Fast camera activation, autofocus with a dedicated autofocus assist lamp, fast reloading between shots and DVD-like quality video capture make it a truly convenient and credible tool for capturing and telling your life stories.

Thanks to the 2GB microSD card in the standard Nokia N82 sales package*, you can store up to 900 high-resolution photos or up to 84 minutes of high quality video on the device.

"The Nokia N82 gives the best ever camera and navigation experience in one stylish premium device. Just imagine what kind of possibilities this will open up and how much richer your every day life experiences can be! The sophisticated design and glossy looks appeal to men and women who are conscious of their style and want to impress with the latest in technology," Satu Ehrnrooth continues.

Share your stories
With high speed Wi-Fi connectivity and one-click upload to communities, the Nokia N82 makes sharing your experiences and discoveries easy. When viewing a picture or video, simply one press of a button starts uploading it while you carry on using the device for other purposes.

Or you can impress your friends with multimedia slideshows - complete with music and effects - on the high resolution display or on a compatible TV.

The Nokia N82 comes with the new content driven 3D multimedia menu and includes a convenient orientation sensor that rotates the user interface automatically between horizontal and portrait mode. For quick and easy access to entertainment content, the Nokia N82 also supports the Ovi family of Nokia internet services, including Nokia Music Store, N-Gage games** and Nokia Maps.

The Nokia N82 is available now in key markets with an estimated, pre-tax, unsubsidized sales price of approximately 450, announced by Nokia on 14th November 2007.

The Nokia N82 seems like the next flagship of the Nokia N-series of multimedia-oriented smartphones. Although it looks pretty much the same as Nokia N95 specs-wise, it outmatches the current heavyweight champion with a xenon flash and automatic screen rotation.

First off, we present you the Nokia N82 photos. We gotta admit the N82 is not the prettiest of handsets but it looks alright - especially having in mind it's loaded with features. You can't see silvery Nokia phones often, but the Nokia N82 is one of them. Some of us would have preferred black and hope there's a black version coming in the future (you didn't hear us say 8GB, did you?). (AND INDEED THEY DID MAKE N82 BLACK biggrin.gif)

A lot has been said about the Nokia N82 keypad and the way it resembles a Sony Ericsson rip-off. We won't comment on that as the world's leading manufacturer should know better than copying a competitor's solution. Our guess is that the N82 keypad is a revamped version of the Nokia N91 one. The Nokia N91 had an awful keypad, but with the N82 it's nothing like that. The keypad is far away from being flawless, but it takes little time to get used to.

The N82 comes with a 2 GB microSD memory card included. The side keys are comfortable and the stereo speakers are both located on the right side as with N95 - obviously you are meant to watch videos and listen to music in landscape mode.

The 5 megapixel camera on the back has a mechanical lens cover that turns the camera on automatically. The Nokia N82 is the first Nokia handset to feature a xenon flash. The N82 xenon flash is the first worthy adversary of the Sony Ericsson K850 xenon flash that has been dominating ever since its first introduction in Sony Ericsson K800. The N82 looses some points to K850 as it doesn't have a LED light for video recording.

We conducted an improvised xenon flash test by shooting with Nokia N82 and Sony Ericsson K850 in almost total darkness. It seems that the currently reigning xenon champion has found a match in the face of Nokia N82.

An intriguing feature of the Nokia N82 is the auto rotation of the user interface. It's not lighting fast but it's OK. The general speed of the user interface is identical to the one of Nokia N95 8GB, which is fast enough.

From wikipedia N82 Wiki

The Nokia N82 is a smartphone announced by Nokia on November 14 2007. It is part of the company's Nseries line of smartphones which features the N-Gage gaming platform and the Nokia Music store (where available). The N82 runs Symbian OS v9.2 based S60 3rd Edition platform with Feature Pack 1. It has a 5 megapixel camera and is the first Nokia phone with xenon flash.

The N82 includes a built-in accelerometer, for video stabilisation and photo orientation (to keep landscape or portrait shots oriented as taken). The N82 has automatic screen rotation as a standard feature. The latest available firmware version is numbered v30.0.019 and is dated July 23 2008. U.S. releases of the N82 do not support U.S. 3G frequencies (850 and 1900 MHz) and Nokia has not announced plans to release N82s in the United States which do. As a result, applications and features that require the N82 to connect to a 3G network cannot be used in the United States.

The China market version of the N82 has a different hardware platform and has the WiFi and the UMTS radio removed (I.E. no 3G support). It also has a different product code (RM-314 as opposed to RM-313) and the firmware is not compatible. It can be easily identified by the lack of the line saying "WLAN scanning" on the idle screen. This version is for mainland China only and the N82s in Hong Kong and Macau are standard APAC RM-313s with the 3G and WiFi.

The N82 camera makes a sound and flashes a red LED near the phone's flash while taking a picture. Although the sound can be changed and the user gets to choose from four different options, it cannot be turned off in many regions including Asia and North America. This feature was embedded to protect people's privacy. Some users found it frustrating that the snapshot sound could not be turned off.

The European and Chinese firmware are exceptions to this - they will mute the shutter sound when the mobile is in silent mode. Setting the Warning Tones to Disabled in settings also removes camera shutter sound.

I think you better not to make this statement here "boring and dull symbian"???

It is just because you dont know anything about the certificate signage and make use of it...

Symbian phone have the largest 3rd party software in mobile now and every year its developer gets AWARDS!!!
