what practical advantages that E71 has over 5800? and viceversa.

e71 has a qwerty keyboard whereas 5800 is mainly type on the screen (touch screen device)

e71 is more of a business centric device as 5800 is music centric

if u play mobile games e71 will be easier because of its keypad

e71 has a larger battery capacity meanin it can't last longer

5800 has a bigger screen than e71

more apps support e71 because it is using a more stable OS

camera are roughly equal on both

im facing a dilemma getting a valentine gift for my gf..

which is better, price wise n performance wise..

any other intro also acceptable!

n82 has wifi so she can web browse a bit and gps which supports Garmin so she can use that too

well viewty is alright its a average snapper

Hi all, need some advice on a phone for my cousin:

Her requirements are

1) It has wi-fi, and

2) It can view and edit Word documents (without needing to pay extra for full-version of software, etc. Needs to be able to view and edit Word documents out of the box).

Yeah, sure can...it has Office applications (Quickoffice>Quickword) and Wi-Fi but for editable i think you need to
upgrade it to the "Premier" version.

hi everyone, i'm in dilemma between these 2 phones, both have 5.0 megapixel ... anyone who has played these 2 phones before i would like to know more in terms of their music playback quality and CAMERA QUALITY. afaik, n95 slide, n82 candybar...
n95 quite bulky, but specs is a bit better i think (since price also higher)
n82 got gps...
both 5mp camera...

mutt: why don't you tell us which features are most important to you - camera quality, music playback, etc.

I'm currently using the k810i and I'm pretty happy with it. I still prefer the keys on my old k750 since I'm a heavy sms-er, but the picture quality on the k810i is excellent. If you can get it within your RM600 budget, I think it would be a real bargain.

but planning to upgrade to N78 or buy an iPod touch. fyi my k700i still working fine

those are good for cameras as well so think hard 5800xm cam is useless

5800 XM more for video viewing and internet surfing bigger screen = easier to view and browse.

i just assume 5800 has better speaker, cos it is supposed to be a music phone, I guess

my concern is must be minimum problem, speaker must be loud enuf when the phone rings, no lag when using the phone,

i never play game in phone,

is slide phone getting outdated soon?
which one has less problem? more stable.

why dont consider e71?
The speaker is extremely loud but not clarity. Slide phone tend to have problem in future example u drop the mechanism inside will damage when candybar do not having so many moving parts. After slide too many times it can loose or LCD spoil bla bla bla bla.

After u use 5800 for wifi it will never be the same again. And u can chat like msn with forumer lyn buddies on Cloud Buddy Very fun mate trust me

i started this search with e71, but 2nd thought, my concern is the width too big, and i scared by the time i get use to it keyboard, i will have problem using normal phone, and i don't think i will edit doc or excel with my fon.

U ask fish lover to write review what do you think the review for chicken will turn out? Different ppl is different. I recommend you to go and test the phone yourself only you know what you like.

Hey all GURUs, eh I'm looking for a new phone and I'm stuck choosing between Nokia 5800XM and N85... both phone are great deal~

What I'll be using the phone is SMS,Calling, MP3, must very very comfortable during SMSing, Wifi this is the main fuction

Love to game once in a while during train ride, and love to sms when walking and Have NO LAG~

My dear friend N97 and 5800 running on the same OS version 9.4 when software and games support for N97 it will also support for Nokia 5800 and 2nd for heavy wifi i recommend 5800 because big screen easier to browse around

if you choose between N85 and 5800 XM..

its actually so hard to choose between this...

based on your requirements 5800XM is the best choice....
but for me..i recommend you to go for N85...because sms using touch screen is uncomfortable for me

about 5800 XM and N97..they use same platform..S60V5
and now they will have more application and game..
its also can be h*cked now...

i disagee example for computer keyboard i can type without looking

and for my nokia 5800XM i am already driving and smsing without looking. Like they always say practice make perfect.

For your info the alphanumeric keypad is twice the size of your n85 keypad button. The logic and concept is the same u just need feel roughly where the keys are. and when u press the phone vibrates to show u press a key.

One is old model N82, one is new model...

my 2 cents, sound quality might only varies slightly, but picture quality not. then, go for better picture quality lor...

from that list..

K770 is the best among them...

If you really want to have a good camera phone and acceptable music phone, then take K770.

cons - cannot extend memory (no memory card slot), a bit worried that slider might be flimsy, menu keys feels and looks a bit cheap especially the silver finish, expensive.

not too much info yet, but bigger screen size than n82 and improved camera resolution. only cons are no xenon flash and i'm not really too fond of slider design.

By the way, I got 2 choices, either Viewt or 5800, and I really love 5800..but due to many complaints of 5800's hardware and software problems, I might get a Viewty. Any advice from all gurus? I am really not confident as I worry I will buy a 5800 that is full of problems ( and I hate keep sending phone back to NCC to repair or watsoever), and it is hard to determine if the 5800 is a second batch one. to determine the second batch..you can look for its firmware..usually the second batch hp is has latest firmware..

anyway..betwwen LG Viewty and 5800XM..

if you camera freak..better go for LG viewty..

but for overall package.. 5800XM is better...

I think now it's ok and time to get Nokia 5800XM. Already less complain by users.

The only bad thing about Nokia 5800 is the camera, otherwise it's a good phone. You'll enjoy it.

I love my 5800 XM i do not have a single problem u all mention till this very day. Only thing i dislike is the camera overall its perfect. if you ask me switch to Viewty it would be over my dead body haha jk

By pressing *#92702689# - it takes you to a secret menu where you may find some of the information below:
1. Displays Serial Number.
2. Displays the Month and Year of Manufacture
3. Displays (if there) the date where the phone was purchased (MMYY)
4. Displays the date of the last repair - if found (0000)
5. Shows life timer of phone (time passes since last start)

Is it true you can check the month and year of manufacture? I mean, does it work ok 5800 to check its date of manufacture?

xenon flash wont drain the battery like crazy..it is just if u use camera with flash too much time..

Do u need 120fps video recording or xenon? If not u have no point go for viewty now. That is obsolete and too old model alr. Lousy interface(non smart phone),less function,low memory support,Large screen cant support GPS

5800 many complain? The sale result still in top 3 in nokia list.

Xenon flash drain battery faster but not crazy. It still can snap at least 300 pictures with full charge. Do u snap over 300 picture over a night?

yeah. i guess you guys are right. but i think the dual led as lighting for video mode and as a torchlight (?) is quite good as well. n79 is a newer model (newer OS), battery life a bit better (?) and looks better too (slimmer, wider keypad). plus the fm transmitter damn useful when driving.

i would love to try both the phones out before buying, but i'm currently in Melbourne now for the year. over here these 2 phones cannot find AT ALL in shops. haha. or maybe i just don't know where to look. planning to buy on eBay or ask my friend in msia to buy for me. hmmm
