ops...too many shortcut...sorry....  cool.gif i try my best to type properly >.< too much msn and sms.
But i think it's not easy to get a job in either Qantas or Jetstar. The Aviation Australia(AA)'s instructors are trying to help us to get a job in middle-east or other airline companies rather than their own australia companies. This is because AA offers certificate courses(A,C,E,I,R) for aussie ONLY.  They just attending for couple of months and they can work, faster than international students. Of course, if they need to obtain EASA license, they need min 5 years of working. International student just only need min 2.5 years.  rclxub.gif

PS: I'm not saying AA not a good school or something. sweat.gif  AA is the only part-147 training school nearest to Malaysia and i currently study there. thumbup.gif  Just want to say that it's hard to get a job in Aus and getting PR is very very very damn hard now.I heard from news said that 2010 will change the imigration system due to too much illegal smuggler (boat people) from Indonesia, Philipines and India. cry.gif

That's good as you are already studying there. Which batch have you enrolled in? We are their official representative in Malaysia and currently have sent the first the batch last year November. Maybe it is a bit difficult right now but i believe things will change soon. I know about the certificate courses offered for only locals but it is not a straight forward path to become an LAME. They just want to fill in the gaps in the Aircraft Maintenence sector's workforce shortage in a shortest time possible.

If you ask me, any companies will do initially just to get your experience and of course Part 145 companies would be better. There are many MRO companies in Australia and also around the world and don't just depend on your instructors to get you a job. If you don't mind please PM me your email address for further discussion on AA. Appreciate it.

Do not worry about the immigration changes as Malaysians do not really travel by 'boat' to Australia! smile.gif

I'm same batch with president chua chin han.. Graduated in june2009 to be more precise..this course can be considered a new thing for you.. So maybe hard or easy for you...it's depend on yourself.. Personally I felt that this course is interesting, challenging and fun due to some crazy Aussie style instructors and education system... AA not much assignment to do.. Almost same like IS life... 8.00-3.30pm 5 days a week... Oh ya, friday should be early for surau... Haha... What else you wanna ask about AA?? Mind to tell me your name?? I think you are Eric lim's friend... laugh.gif

That's great! Martin is my good friend. Unfortunately he is not with AA anymore. All the students from peninsula Malaysia are from our consultancy. Say hi to them on my behalf. I hope your studies over there going all right and wish you best of luck for 2010.

hmm.gif it is actually a sensitive issue to talk about in this open forum and i don't intend to hurt anyone or speculate anything here or even trying to tarnish anybody's reputation. What i can say is he is good man with plenty of knowledge to share and definitely many students going to miss him so much due to his pleasant attitude. My advice to all the Malaysian students studying in AA is to stay away from the internal political game because it is not going to benefit you in anyways. Cheers!! biggrin.gif

No one can guarantee you that. You just have to wait for their intake, if they are going to have one! Either you sit and wait for this kind of opportunities to arise or invest your money or your parents money to get a good quality and a recognised education elsewhere like at Aviation Australia and get into the job market as soon as possible. Something for you to think about..

So far i know, there is loan from Horizon Aerospace if not mistaken. Just like PTPTN those loan, not really schorlarships. I have a friend now at AA is borrowing that loan, 2 year contract of working to that company if not mistaken. brows.gif Don't have freedom sad.gif

With SAR license your potential job market will be limited only in Singapore but with EASA you stand a chance to get employed anywhere in the world especially with the EASA Part 145 companies. Most of the top airlines and MROs are approved by EASA Part 145. Definitely EASA is recommended but just one correction here: Aviation Australia is the only organisation outside of Europe, to deliver the full range of basic EASA aircraft engineering qualifications. So before you commit in any other colleges that are claiming they are recognised by EASA, please do your homework first by checking their approval at http://www.easa.europa.eu/ws_prod/c/doc/Or...SA_Part_147.pdf. Just a piece of advice from me. If you have any questions regarding this matter you can contact me at mugu@ighe.com.my or else you can PM me.

Just be careful with this one guys as it looks a bit fishy! I don't dare to assume or speculate anything for now. So, let me find out more about the company and also their financial assistance scheme and also their collaboration with Aviation Australia (if any) first and i'll post my findings here. Stay tuned!
