QUOTE(sioe @ Feb 27 2009, 11:26 PM) Baby T-Rex: Dont really understand ure statement but in the case of restoring the original firmware, ur best bet would b to download the firmware (IPSW) first onto your computer and then while holding the "Shift" button, click on Restore. A window will load up and just choose the IPSW you downloaded. It should restore your ipod to the original firmware. Good luck! i had restored back my original firmware.... thx

Err... Tethered means you have to boot from the computer everytime. Semi-tethered means you can boot your ipod touch without connecting to computer, but all jailbreak app will be disabled(super unstable) untethered means you dont need to connect to computer to boot, just like ipod touch first gen and iphones.
Now still dont have untethered version jailbreak for ipod touch 2nd gen.

Hey bryanyeo, I haven't jailbroken my iPod Touch yet, but i certainly want to do so once a non-tethered method is out. Now, would it be ok for me to update my firmware to 2.2.1? If i do so, would the chances of my iPod being jailbroken in the future (with 2.2.1 firmware) be low?

Great news to all iPod Touch 2g user, have a look at this Forget about USD15 Nitrokey Slipstream (they seems to use the code from dev team and use them for profit) you can go for FREE untethered Devteam jailbreak release (non GUI method) here at your own risk http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155770or wait for the GUI release This post has been edited by psyeo: Mar 11 2009, 03:15 PM

UPDATED!!! GO SEE FIRST POST Added on March 11, 2009, 6:46 pmQUOTE(likito @ Mar 11 2009, 11:06 AM) noob here , wat is the benefit jailbreak it ? Enable us to install 3rd party applications that apple doesn't approve to be sold in app store. For example, Backgrounder(run app in background), Winterboard(Change the ipod touch themes), Categories(categorize the apps to a folder), and many more. Dont worry, you can still install app store apps This post has been edited by bryanyeo: Mar 11 2009, 06:46 PM

Try manually download the firmware, link: here Added on March 11, 2009, 9:54 pmPlayboy21 you can try this if you want. 6) Rename 221pwnedFirmware.ipsw to 221pwnedFirmware.zip and extract.
7) From your custom 2.2.1 ipsw, extract these files: iBSS.n72ap.RELEASE.dfu (name it iBSS221pwn.dfu)
