Just had a long discussion with the tech support from sony.
Those guys are amazing, very precise and knowledgable compare to some tech supports I've been through.

I suggest if you guys have a problem you can call them directly.

My issue was having some problem with bd games; intermitten crash during loading.

i can't seem to find a partner which have a decent signal strength
btw i got nat 2 on the network test

1 more thing if we use the bt headset. it only transmit the voice chat?

have you tried calling Microsofts? laugh.gif

several forummers here asked my help to call their SG line. To cancel their LIVE subscribtion. They outsourced their callcenters to India..so I had to dribble around to understand thats thick Indian accent laugh.gif

Hey guys must we always remove the disc after playing it ? Cant we just leave it inside and close the console ?

The seller told me if i dint take out b4 shutting down the console there is possibility the disc could stuck inside. Is it true ? very annoying must keep inserting the disc time after time

maybe true maybe not

theoretically it will wear out the lense quicker because every time the console it will be active.

personally, i left the disc inside the console when shutting down since mar 2007. of course i take the disc out if im moving the console to other place.
no dead lens yet

or maybe i am just lucky.

Dam....now I kinda regret not getting the PS1/PS2 backward compatible version of PS3 since it does upscale the graphics. I gave it up because I heard the backward compatible models are not very stable.

well if you remember to take it out then you might as well take it out. hahhahaha. i take it out normally because i got a lot of psn games. so sometimes just switch the ps3 on just to troll around the xmb watch anime. stuff like that so i dun want the disc to run every time i scroll over the game menu.

one thing, when ever I play GTA4, the fans start to run faster, producing a loud sound. only GTA4. And its not even a dual layer BD game..unlike MGS4. Anybody experiencing the same thing?or maybe GTA4 is just sucky?

Normal dude.
Its doesn't matter if the Blu-Ray disc is single or dual layered.

It matters on the game itself. GTA4, IS one of the most taxing games on the PS3. The huge world enviroments, the amount of Euphoria physics going around, its immense. So the game really does take a toll on the PS3, the RSX and Cell runs hell alot hotter. Thus, the need for the fan to run faster to cool it down.

Keep your PS3 well ventilated, play in air-conditioned situations if possible.
I only had the fan spin up to unimanginable sounds when I play in a hot sunny afternoon in a room, with a ceiling fan turned on only.

Keep in mind, this just doesn't apply to GTA4.
I've seen it happened on other games as well, and yes that including MGS4 too.

Don't worry too much, keep gaming! icon_rolleyes.gif

BTW snipersnake, I see you on PSN play GTA4, wanna play sometime? brows.gif

You choose whatever package also there will be lag(depending on games, who you play with, and where you are playing).
Thats how bad streamyx is, but its the best you can get here.

Just get the 1mb package, unless you have money to splurge, 4mb line(eventhough it doesn't make much of a bloody difference)! brows.gif
