As I said, it depends on the parts.

If its just a dead lens, it would cost a standar RM350 to change it. This price of course can change anytime.

Anything else, you're dead out of luck.

Guys, was wondering whether does your ps3 is hooked to the internet 24/7? or do you plug it on only when you guys want to online?

The reason being said is because I notice whenever my newly bought games wanted to do a patch update, the screen just goes blank and I need to restart my ps3.

Noob question guys. For those PS3 with backward compatibility with PS1/PS2 games I saw an option to enable upscaling. Does that means it will make PS1/PS2 game graphics look better on a PS3 ?

Yes and no.

It makes it look better on a HDTV, because the PS3 will upscale PS1 and PS2 games to the resolution its on. So it won't look like a blob of blurry textures.

If you do it on a CRT, you won't see much of a difference except for smoothed out character models.

how do you guys get the ps3 to play .mkv files and also .srt files (subtitle) eventho i named it the same as the movie and tried clicking on subtitle option, still it cant load the subtitle file. So how does everyone get this to work then ?
thanks.
*
U may use mkv2vob to convert the mkv file to mpg/vob file in order to ps3 to recognize it. if u save the srt file within the same folder with mkv, the subtitle will be forced embedded into the mpg/vob file.

If u no need subtitle, then just use tsmuxer to convert the mkv to ts file then can play on ps3 d... the conversion time is much shorter here...

what do you mean it doesnt start in HD. it should start in whatever display mode you set at your initial set up right?

....

anywyays hey guys i was wondering are there some games that cannot play under certain display modes?

an example is. my cousin got a ps3 hooked up to a normal old tube tv but he cant play call of duty 3. but when we try it on my ps3 got no problems playing. is this an abnormal case or are some games linked to only 720p/i and above?

Just had a long discussion with the tech support from sony.
Those guys are amazing, very precise and knowledgable compare to some tech supports I've been through.

I suggest if you guys have a problem you can call them directly.

My issue was having some problem with bd games; intermitten crash during loading.
