ok guys, here's a potentially silly question.
If i have already put on a full body protector film on my phone, is it necessary to buy another case for the phone? Is the protector film alone enough to protect to phone from gentle knocks and bumps? How many of you use only the film without the casing? I mean what is the trend right now I wonder....

arrggh..i m confused!!!

well the thing is most cases won't fit once you have the full body protection film, except for a few. the Switcheasy Rebel is one of them if i'm not mistaken, from one of the posts here.

I myself am planning (phone coming tomorrow sleep.gif ) to go full body film, and just an Oakley glasses pouch (loose drawstring pouch type).

trend? i'm not sure. you have split camps. some wants drop protection but don't mind a little bulk (e.g. speck candyshell, switcheasy rebel), some wants minimal bulk but don't mind losing some drop protection (e.g. incipio feather, griffin reveal, sgp ultra thin), some just feel okay with full body film, and some like it totally naked *cough*

it all depends on how comfortable you are with your own phone and how confident you are in the way you handle it.

Bro, speaking from experience, I did Bodyguardz for my 3g and wifey 3g. Mine did not go too well but wifey one was better, altho after a while both have edges coming out and looks bad. Decided to take off both BG and just put Screen protectors and use with More and SGP cases, look nicer. However if you want your iphone 3G fully secured, BG and a casing or pouch would be double, I guessed and in BG is as good as a naked iphone which until today still turn heads..... rclxms.gif

1. use it nakedly and protects it with just a cloth pouch. no bulk but zero protection.
1. apply a skin which doesn't add any bulk, protects from scratches but not drops. (or use it with a pouch)
2. get a hard case (Griffin Clarifi, iClear, SE Rebel, CapsuleNeo), which adds bulk but protects the whole phone from scratches and drops.
3. get a silicone case. less bulk, protects from scratches but not major drops.
4. resort to stick-to-the-back cases (SGP Ultra Thin etc.), minimum bulk, protects the back but not the chrome bezel against dents/scratches.

Ahhh, thanks for this. Very useful for me to make some decision, mm...

I'm thinking about either skins or hard case. Dont like additional bulk but the latter seems to be tiny bit better since it protects more. Dilemma...need to see the physical unit with those thingies on in order to decide, really.

Btw, the cases they have here's quite cool. I'm looking specially at the SGP Ultra Thin High Gloss Plus (extra, extra, lol). Anyone using it?

Isnt BG a type of screen protector? I mean when u say screen protector what are u actually referring to? A totally different type of protector from BG?

Ya i agree SGP do have some killer casings. Be careful though if you decide to Body guardz your phone then it will not fit into SGP casings. ALso some forumers dislike it for that fact that it has a hole at back to reveal the apple logo which is dust magnet.

CKsia,

BG is overall shield. Screen protector got a million out there for you to choose to protect your screen only. Some ppl like mirror type, some like frosted type, some like clear type, some want anti-fingerprint type, amcam2 nowadays. All I'm saying is that you can do full bodysheld using BG, SGP or invisible Shield or just put on screen protector and casing like SGP Ultra thin, More, Incase, Rebel, etc. Motive is the same, Protection.

Got my Griffin Nu Form and all set to go.
Went to EpiCentre @ Pavilion today and saw the SwitchEasy Capsule Neo in the flesh. It looks might good. I'm definitely going to get it. Too bad I'm unable to stuff the Nu Form into the Moshi iPouch. That would've been sweet.

Can't help you with holsters as I am no big fan but as for form fitting leather pouch I got an alternative for you => http://www.senacases.com/Brands/iPhone-3G-...LTRA-SLIM-POUCH

I was using the Q9h version and the quality is really good. And I remember the shipping cost is a flat USD9.90 which is very reasonable.

Alternatively, I have seen ppl here recommending this as well http://www.iconic.co.nz/index.php?main_pag...products_id=343

Looks pretty sweet if you ask me smile.gif

@johnliew

those Sena ones look good! i've seen one guy having it or something similar to it before. was tempted to stop him in his tracks and ask him where he got it from.

perhaps if i get sick of my pouch much later on, i'll get that. biggrin.gif

thanks for the recommendation.

Heyya all,

Im looking for a good WALLETSKIN or WALLETBOOK Case for my iPhone. SENA has a few cool ones;

http://www.senacases.com/Brands/iPhone-3G-...E-FOR-iPHONE-3G

Anyone else uses such cases? I like to keep some cards in it rather than my wallet- and its easier to have when working out.

Good morning.

Do you guys apply the skins/screen protectors/casing/etc. yourself when you got them or you take it to someone to do it for you?

Btw, anyone know if SGP case is available in Penang? I need to have a feel of it before deciding to get a case or a skin instead.

Thanks!

Attempting to apply my Bodyguardz tonight myself. I expect it's gonna be hell to put it on so i'm expecting to put aside 1 hour or so just for this.

Sellers like twinkles, who sells SGP Shield, offers installation services too apparently.
