hey has anybody used the Griffin Reveal before? website here: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/reveal

looks pretty good, IMHO. similar to the iClear but thinner.

was wondering if anybody who's using it now is able to give feedback/review.

however, i still can't find it in the shops here. I've tried Machines KLCC and Mid Valley, and Mac City in 1 Utama, can't find sad.gif
but i think there are sellers on the Garage Sales threads that are selling this.
has anybody seen this being sold in any other shops?

@teikwing

haha almost the same i think. eh, i did a mistake mentioning it was oakley's. it's actually killer loop sleep.gif

neways, i malas to upload picture, and i don't have an iphone yet (waiting for eternity 31/7 collection date) to take a size comparison photo of iphone and pouch, but i managed to google and found an image of it, haha. it looks exactly like this (just the pouch): http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/kj/090623...7899a4k_18.jpeg

the whole pouch is made of that micro-fibre kinda material, and doubles up as a cleaning cloth for the glasses.

has anybody used SGP shield together with SGP ultra thin before?

I was wondering if with the SGP shield, will the SGP ultra thin still fit?

coz since the chrome bezel is exposed with the Ultra Thin, would be great by using Shield together for bezel protection

@johnliew
haha whoa! that's quite a shopping list! wink.gif

in anticipation for the arrival of my 3GS this friday, planning to get this:
1. Bodyguardz - just got it just now from an LYN seller here, jacquei.
2. Pouch - re-using my Oakley glasses micro-fibre pouch
3. Some sort of car holder/mount for the phone.
4. Car charger (maybe Powerjolt?) - still thinking through about getting this or not.

Originally wanted to go for the Griffin Reveal, but with the shortage, was informed that I can only get it late August/early September. So, decided not to get a case, and just stick with Bodyguardz + pouch coz I like the look of the phone naked, and I'm pretty careful with my phones (so far tongue.gif)

@johnliew,
Er.. Invisible Shield?! Er jackhammer84, I suggest against it unless U like ur phone to look 'worn' - the iShield has this yellowish effect and U must be a pro in order to install it right tongue.gif
*
i got the Bodyguardz (link), not the iShield smile.gif

i read from various reviews and user inputs from some forums that the Bodyguardz doesn't suffer the yellowish effect that the iShield has. oh well, i just bought it liao, so fingers crossed i hope these reviews are true, haha tongue.gif

@teikwing
haha yeah i'm one of the psycho ones, excited mah, lol tongue.gif
hmm, about the orange peel, read from various reviews, it's not present in BG as compared to IS. oh well, i bought dy, haha. i'll be the judge of that and see what happens. then i can post my own review here, lol.

@tink
oh thanks for the Griffin WindowSeat suggestion, but wah, if it's like what teikwing mentioned, 140 bucks, also out of my budget sad.gif

@teikwing
was actually planning to go get the RM15 from LYP too, but since you mentioned how bad the quality was, i think better not. haha. so i guess this weekend i'll be hunting for car mounts. will keep everyone updated here if i find good ones

what kinda car mounts are you looking for btw?
1. dashboard mount
2. windscreen mount
3. cigarette/lighter mount
4. air cond vent mount?

i just want a dashboard or windscreen one. preferably a dashboard one.

ok guys, here's a potentially silly question.
If i have already put on a full body protector film on my phone, is it necessary to buy another case for the phone? Is the protector film alone enough to protect to phone from gentle knocks and bumps?How many of you use only the film without the casing? I mean what is the trend right now I wonder....

arrggh..i m confused!!!
*
well the thing is most cases won't fit once you have the full body protection film, except for a few. the Switcheasy Rebel is one of them if i'm not mistaken, from one of the posts here.

I myself am planning (phone coming tomorrow sleep.gif ) to go full body film, and just an Oakley glasses pouch (loose drawstring pouch type).

trend? i'm not sure. you have split camps. some wants drop protection but don't mind a little bulk (e.g. speck candyshell, switcheasy rebel), some wants minimal bulk but don't mind losing some drop protection (e.g. incipio feather, griffin reveal, sgp ultra thin), some just feel okay with full body film, and some like it totally naked *cough*

it all depends on how comfortable you are with your own phone and how confident you are in the way you handle it.

@johnliew

those Sena ones look good! i've seen one guy having it or something similar to it before. was tempted to stop him in his tracks and ask him where he got it from.

perhaps if i get sick of my pouch much later on, i'll get that. biggrin.gif

thanks for the recommendation.

Good morning.

Do you guys apply the skins/screen protectors/casing/etc. yourself when you got them or you take it to someone to do it for you?

*
Attempting to apply my Bodyguardz tonight myself. I expect it's gonna be hell to put it on so i'm expecting to put aside 1 hour or so just for this.

Sellers like twinkles, who sells SGP Shield, offers installation services too apparently.

Just got my 3GS! Have yet to install the bodyguardz, but plan to do it tomorrow morn, pretty worn out now. Anyways have been playing around with the phone naked so far. Anybody notice a slight residue kinda feeling on your finger that u use to tap? Just a slight bit. Or maybe it's just me imagining things, haha

Thanks Harmeet.
By the way, does anyone knows if the SGP Shield protects the bottom part of the Chrome bezel?
*
Yes it does. It pretty much covers up every part of the phone.

Thanks mate for the heads up. But I thought it is leather. Though the Vaja is quite handsome looking, I prefer slip-ins. Perhaps, Incipio Orion and the like?

Anyway, anyone out there interested in my proposition, please let me know. TQ.
*
I have the SGP Illuzion slider case. Definitely not leather but it's pretty solid, and got a couple of compliments for it. But if you're looking for other options, have u checked out the Sena UltraSlim pouches? Genuine leather, and looks classy too. Would probably be my next purchase if I get tired with my current pouch biggrin.gif
