I just saw this thread.
I've been using ST3500320AS on FW SD15 for about 1 year, no issues so far. But the clicking sound does makes me nervous though. No wonder it was the cheapest. You know I wish I didn't see this thread, ignorance is bliss. This post has been edited by Mr Ez: Apr 10 2009, 08:05 PM |

I just bought a new 7200.11 1TB. However I made sure the firmware was CC something (NOT SD15 or any SD..) and its the 3 platter, instead of the four platter ones which model number ends in 340AS....
I'm a die hard Seagate fan... lets hope I made a right choice!! |

QUOTE(don_naza @ Apr 19 2009, 01:15 PM) Although if us updated to SD1A, is it means that this cannot detect issue can be solved totally?Or it is just a upgrade only? Means that it is better to upgrade but this problem still can ocuur? Anyway, this issue is caused by hardware or firmware actually> |

selfdz87 , in case anything happens back up your important stuffs to another drive. Well shit happens when you're careless, sometimes even you're careful. |

SD1A is not d latest firmware
last time i check seagate website,its SD2B or sumthing.look like they still churning out firmware for those affected 7200.11 hdd d newer 500GB 7200.12 hdd has onli 16MB cache.onli 750GB n 1TB has 32MB cache. |
