F*** that. As long as the winner gets the maximum points out of it.

That's it.

well, lets say team A have 53 points, Team B have 50...then A lost, still stuck with 50, while B win, will continue on to 53 points..unless you are confident team B can win against A, then it's still 3 points for me...

woo....news math from u??n i didn know tat if a team lose will minus 3 points?? doh.gif doh.gif

basically now we have to win all the remaining game and its a MUST WIN match at old trafford then...... nod.gif nod.gif

why ppl all think its the end of the world? lower all ur high expectations la.
liverpool wont win the title until the 2010-11 season tongue.gif

look at villa fans, they all looking up and eagerly want to catch the leaders since they're only 3 pts off the top.

in a logical world, loser doesnt lose any points tongue.gif

Added on January 20, 2009, 8:13 am

that is all based on assumption that B is leading A by 3 pts prior to the match.

what if both A and B are the same points initially? its only a 3 pt difference tongue.gif

again, in a logical world...
*
Team A 53 points
Team B 53 Points
Difference is 0 points

This week A vs B

If A wins
Team A 53 points
Team B 50 Points
Difference is Team A 3 points better off (+3)

If B wins
Team A 50 points
Team B 53 Points
Difference Team A is 3 points worse off (-3)

Now the difference (Between A winning and losing the match) of +3 and -3 is 6 right? whistling.gif

When we find the difference between 2 numbers we usually minus it right?

ok
(+3) - (-3)
= +3 + 3
= 6

I'm sorry, did I post something wrong?

Just wanted to show that for matches between Title contender teams and Relegation Battle teams it is a 6 pointer between losing and winning the match.

I did provide all the calculation to backup my theory.

Ya i found it quite useful from your theory but the same time i got too much from the numbers.

Good to stop as you provided really sensible maths class here for a genuine title contender. Appreciate it.

+3 -3? I say this year champion not more than 90 points.

Liverpool is quite dissapointing.
I saw the match for stoke and everton.
For last night match,
Jamie & Reyna doing great job.
Torres is not hardworking.
Robbie Keane, the ball is not with him all the times.
Wondering what is happening to reds.

ask our beloved rafa. sometimes i wonder what he is thinking. maybe the kidney stuff has affected his ability to manage? removing 2 striker and playing defense was really a bad choice sweat.gif

Ooooops! We did it again! We're shooting our own foot at every single opportunity. doh.gif rolleyes.gif I dun buy into all those BS from the gaffer that all the drama off the pitch is not contributing to our stuttering form and our crumbling challenge. Our play is drab, one dimensional and worst of the lot, we got ample of players that just look out of place in the team sheet. Enough of all the talk, time to stand up and show that we do have it to win the title. Talk is cheap. grumble.gif

I am skeptical about our challenge, and by the rate we're dropping silly points through draws, i don't see how we can keep with the pace as others are hotting up in the 2nd half of the season. We still look like we're in a frozen state just chucking along slowy in the snow.

I had a bad feeling when i looked at the defensive pairing, the moment the match started. Skrtel and Hyypia looks shaky from the start, silly fouls, dangerous passing and their lackluster marking in set pieces finally put pay to 3 points. It just had to be that dirty cheating convict who scored. We lacked drive and pace. We can't even win the 2nd balls especially in the 1st half. Torres looks to be still trying to find his feet, while Keane was no where to be seen. Another gutless performance. I have nothing else to say about the gaffer except - you were saying? yawn.gif

at the risk of being accused as anti-Rafa here, i think this may very well be his last season, if this continues and if we ended up empty handed.
oh...as the optimist will say....`we still on same points with MU'..

Instead of us the supporters sleeping, most of the players on the pitch did. doh.gif

Nando, yup Agger nursing a slight injury. Well, i'm in the same boat as you mate. Yah we can say we're at the same point, but the bigger question is for how long more looking at our gutless performance? Others are gaining 9 points from their last 3 games while we're stumbling along with 5.

Draws dun win you titles..... been saying this since last season.

Is it difficult for a player to concentrate on the pitch where he knows he going to be subbed off everytime at 60'

No matter what Robbie Keane definitely play a part in this title race. If that is not the fact, then it's my confidence.

Walk on.
