QUOTE(d3vilzzzz @ Dec 4 2009, 10:33 AM) QUOTE(deitylord @ Dec 13 2009, 02:34 PM) i think you miunderstood me Jind thats pretty pricey.. im looking at getting a shirt from de-catano at the moment, they start around RM160 for the complete shirt.. d3vilzzz has ordered one.. will wait to take a look at his shirt =)my quoted price by them was RM120 for shirt, 160 for pants. These are workmanship prices only. If include their cloth, it would be RM320 above for shirts and RM360 for pants. I was asking if the workmanship prices quoted to me was reasonable? 1 thing i notice though the Chinese guy was reluctant to even talk to me when I said I am new to this and was just asking. Thanks! visit here: http://www.de-catano.com/ |

That was the date he proposed to me since I said I'm not in a rush to wear the pants. Got a call from him later. The pants will be ready on the 21st.
Yes. He's the non-fused shirtmaker. This post has been edited by calvinloke: Dec 13 2009, 07:13 PM |

Maybe I can drop by your town one weekend and you bring me to him. I want to feel how a non-fused shirt is like. All the characters in Harry Potter have these drapey, floppy non-fused collars.

Somehow their collars are very tall with long collar points.
![]() Torso is baggy. Is this the traditional English cut? Look at the ties! ![]() Hardly anyone buttons the collar button. ![]() See how soft the collar is? ![]() But I prefer her in a dress. ![]() |

Hmm. The back blades of those ties and unbuttoned collars hinted something. Hogwarts practices great level of sprezzatura.

planning to visit de-catano tomorrow to get a custom dress shirt.. kotmj and lanatir you guys have patronized de-catano right? what do you think of their shirt-making?
btw i've not done a custom shirt bfore, what are the steps.. so first is the measurements, then is there like a first and second fitting? or after the measurement the shirt would have been completed in the next visit? This post has been edited by jind86: Dec 14 2009, 12:03 AM |

I've never been to decatano. There was a guy here once who got his first bespoke there and was deeply unhappy with it.
I had two pairs of pants made in my hometown earlier this year. The girl (daughter of the tailor) kept asking me about my preference for each measurement. Lots of talking. Result: Unwearable. Too damned tight everywhere. I am a lousy pant designer. Ah Loke never asks me for my opinion (he always thinks he knows better). Result of the two pants (which came with the suits): Very nice. Had bespoke shirts made at Chicago and AL. I was very happy with the fit Chicago gave me. Until I wore the AL. Better in EVERY aspect. So the quality is very variable. It depends on the tailor. I shall never have a shirt of mine monogrammed. Ever. |
