The material is probably polyester or poly-wool mix. Generally I would not recommend these groupon deals if you're looking for a good suit.
But if you're looking for a cheap entry level suit, why not give it a try and let us know the results here?

But the fabric are limited and not that nice. They do have black luckily, other color like uncle2 punya color like green brown those. got mine today for rm788(blazer + pants) + 280(shirt) = rm1068 Have to return in 2weeks time for fitting. Getting Started

hi guys, i hope someone can help me out here. my gf recently bought me a OTR suit as a present. to her credit, the suit fits perfectly with the exception that the sleeves are protruded around 1 inch off my wrist. unfortunately it came with working buttons, so the best alteration method that i could think off is to shorten the sleeve from the shoulders. anyone know any good tailor that can alter suit sleeves from the shoulders or have done so before? went to 4 different tailors and all dont alter from shoulders. really impossible in Malaysia? i dont want to break her heart

Did you go to alteration tailors or those who make suits as well? I guess alteration tailors may be worried about messing up your jacket since it is a fairly complicated job.
Perhaps try the tailoring shops, e.g. the forum's favourite bespoke tailor Ah Loke.

I got a question, a suit from topman fits my shoulder snuggly, but the waist and chest might be a little bit big. should i get it and just do some minor altering from a tailor outside? thanks!

So, I went to Ah Loke's Tailor, made a shirt, not really a good cut. He needed 2.0m for my length. My previous tailor was a legend but he has left the country, only used 1.6m and made them long so I could tuck it in well. Ah Loke made my shirts a tad shorter than I'm used to so difficult to tuck. Anyway, well fitted top half and very slack bottom half (I have slim waist with broad-ish shoulders). So, very disappointing at the end of the day. Brought it back for him to mend hopefully it turns out 'wearable'
Went to Binwani's at the Curve today. Met with Dennis their 'master cutter'. Excellent guy picked up on nuances I didn't see Ah Loke measuring. My right hand is 0.5in longer than my left hand and Dennis caught on to this. He also measured for a 31.5in length which allows for ample tuck with a 2.0m cloth.
Dennis used to work for Sparkman before they sold (and Sparkman is now only lacklustre at best, possibly because of the new owner?). He knows my previous tailor - Chin of Sire's Tailoring (Bukit Bintang then Cheras). So, good vibes from Dennis hopefully next Sunday when I pick it up it'll be perfect.

Ahh... u picked up the most essential thing when dealign with Ah Loke... u literally have to TELL him what you want down to the very smallest detail... so... if one is not prepared to guide him every step of the way (and few are)... then the end result from AL would leave a lot to be desired.

That would be an expensive experience if anyone is going with ALT because it would take several attempts to sort it out. I wouldn't know yet if Dennis @ Binwani's is any better but will report back on Sunday.
I used to criticize Chin for not providing a modern cut but looking back on it he was amazing. Shame he has left the country. I mean the dude used to make long shirts out of 1.6m of fabric and still have left-overs to make handkerchiefs. wtf?

I get stuff altered at Pinky's in Sungei Wang but I guess any tailor could sort you out.

The waist looks ok, not sure if more suppression would do you good. Sleeves definitely need to be shortened by 1-1.5 inches.

Suits, own material (its not recommended to use inhouse suiting fabric anyway) I cant remember very well cause sometimes i have strange.. request that cost more. 2 piece is 1.2~1.5 3 piece is 1.7~1.8 They are not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. Ample parking, just drop by to look around and chat with them then you can decide later.

Follow kotjm's article stated above?

I reckon you can start doign some research on the fabrics on line. Depends alot on weather and such. Try 30/70 mohair/wool. Nothing too heavy for our weather. H&S branded fabric of that quality would set you back 3k in Wardrobe, while u can pick them up for about 5~700 online (well maybe not H&S but other decent brand like say Dunhill?). As for instruction, u can be a detail freak, or u can go "Modern cut! Slim fit! super waisted" and the guys can more or less sort u out. My last suit, I went for 3 fitting session and was greeted with a smile everytime.
