my friend recommended 2 tailors to me (intend to make office long pants, and also casual
short pants ala khaki/cargo pant type) and probably short sleeve shirts...

he recommended one at the CURVE and another one at 1st floor ATRIA shopping Damansara Jaya,

btw any comments on this 2 tailors ? workmanship and priciing in particular ?

well the zegnas arrived. i wanted to order 4 pieces, but one was out of stock. so i paid for 3. but one of the three i received was very long. i measured it, it was 3.6 meters, enough for 2 shirts.

so i got one shirting length free, except that it is two pcs of the same cloth.

i might sell it for rm120.

it is the blue graph check, on the right, fourth from the top

Added on December 14, 2010, 10:04 pmThese Zegnas are really all over the place in terms of handle. I realise now you cannot determine handle through small swatches. You need a long length of the cloth to really feel it. One of the Zegnas is easily on, or above, oak nut level. Another is middling. The other is fluffy and spongy.

But the designs are all eye-popping.

Brioni guy, you've got PM.

I have soaked and laundered all the Zegnas and even ironed one just now. As beau has implicated, Zegna does not make it's own shirting.

So I was ironing this Zegna and something became very clear. It felt exactly like an Alumo. The satin stripes looked liked what Alumo would produce. The cloth is superbly soft and smooth. It was prone to wrinkles, like any superfine cotton. I think that piece is an Alumo.

The other two pieces are not on this level.

What are the factors to consider for a bespoke suit?

I really like the cuttings of Smalto and Padini coats (more of a slim fit design) but it requires a little alteration on the sleeves.

Having said that, the range of fabrics made for Zegna & other designers are made in limited quantities as compared to their usual run . There is therefore some assuarance of exclusitivity.

French seam?
[attachmentid=1969513]
Side seams sewn once using machine, then rolled and finished by hand like a pocket square, finished with a handmade bartack instead of a stupid gusset. Lovely.

ANY seamstress can alter a polo. Even some stores that sell sewing equipment.

Can anyone recommend me a good tailor in Klang Valley please?

I've tried Bespoked & my suit cost me RM2.2k. Decent pricing, with pretty good fit. Definitely liked the way it looked on me. Price seems a bit pricey & am looking for alternatives out there.

Anyone can point me in the right direction? Any chance for a wool suit between RM1.5-2k? Else I may have to turn to Bespoked for my suit. Any help is much appreciated.
