Ah Loke only works if you can give him artistic and technical direction with the firm hand of a someone used to giving technical direction. His house cut is awful.

Hey guys heres my update. I go to Spark Manshop 1 Utama to get my slack pants tailor made from scratch. material is basic, polyester. Wana test first how is their workmanship. I ask them to make a slack slim fit to my leg. Following precisely my leg and hips measurement. Hope i don't get uncle 'look' slack anymore, this used to happen to me especially if buying off the shelves.

the price they quote me is rm270 btw. smile.gif

I don't know their prices for pants, nor extra size surcharge. Shirts start from RM180.

Added on October 19, 2009, 12:00 amBut I personally do not find much chemistry with Bespoked 1U. The tailor I found I could talk to and be myself is to be found in Binwani's The Curve. They have a very large fabric selection. The tailor is Malay and is intelligent and knows his stuff. Workmanship for trousers is RM130, shirts RM110, french cuffs add RM20.

I just tailored made 2 shirts when i back to Penang last friday. i bought the fabric @ jalan TAR. it only cost me RM40 for each shirt for their workmanship and i was worry wit the outcome cos i have a very very bad experience wit Chicago Tailor SS2 for shirt tailoring.

I sent the fabric to the tailor shop on friday noon and told them i need it on monday as im going back KL on tuesday morning. at 1st they told me impossible cos saturday was Deepavali and they closed on sunday. However, i called them on monday morning n they informed me the shirts are ready. i worried at 1st as they took less than 2 working days to finish it and each shirt only cost me RM40. surprisingly, the shirts turn out very good and im so satisfied wit it. workmanship and the stitching are good to perfect. It is much much better than CHICHAGO TAILOR SS2 which cost me RM120 for a shirt wit their fabric but turn out like a SH**!

im planning to buy more fabrics and tailor more shirts there the next time i back to Penang. thumbup.gif

40 bucks a shirt + priority service is an incredible bargain. I had two pants made in Kuantan for 60 each. Cloth from Binwani's.

ya. its good bargain. i oso surprised wit their service @ tat low price. perhaps its small town. we have more bargain power. i inspected their work for pants and the inner lining is not tat nice. Nice here referring to at least Seed's inner lining quality. so i don have any intention to tailor pants there.

Hey, any idea how much it normally cost to alter my jeans?
I've got a few jeans but the length of it is kinda long, it's hard to get length that matches my height perfectly. My waist is around 29 and height is around 174cm. Really hard to get jeans that fits me nicely sad.gif.

It depends on how you want the seam done. Typically the tailor will charge you a percentage of the price of the jeans. I think most will charge 30%, or roughly RM70 to shorten them. If you want the seam handsewn with a saddlestitch it will cost you what you paid for the jeans, For enthusiasts, this is the only way to shorten jeans.

You will end up paying almost the same price as the pair of jeans itself. Wasn't that clear enough? shocking.gif

Lol, actually I got what he's trying to say.
But it's my first time altering jeans, that's why i'm a little bit curious and shock about the price.
I bought my jeans around RM250, you mean that i'll need that amount of money to alter my jeans?
That's mad lol

he's referring to a specific type of alteration, one which you may not be interested in.. if you want some regular alterations for shortening jeans.. it will cost you about RM20-RM30..

Yeah i'm going for regular alterations, one question.
How are they gonna make my jeans length shorter?
Are they cutting away the bottom part of my jeans to make it shorter?

yes they are going to cut away the extra and then slightly cuff the jeans inward and have them sewn..
