This E71 Runs on symbian and the colour is 16Million colour = photos or any application colour is more accurate and vivid. If u ask me to choose a pda or symbian phone i choose symbian

used a dopod 838 pro before..
what i can say:

- WinMo definitely has a lot of functionalities and tweaks that you can play around with, but Symbian is no different. Just a personal preference.
- As far as interface is concerned, I dont quite like the new TouchFLO 3D on the HTC Touch series because I think although it looks nice, its not very practical for me personally, i rather go old-skool WinMo interface of try out different SPB Shell skins. As for Symbian, interface is not fantastic I would say because to get to something, you sometimes have to go thru so many clicks. The best I used is the iPhone.
- i like the e71 because it is much sleeker and very gorgeous. I guess I wanna stay away from touchscreen phones for a while and I definitely like the physical qwerty keyboard as compared to writing on-screen or using a T9 virtual keypad. The HTC Touch Pro is thicker and more expensive.
- come to think of it, you dont use all the functionalities of a phone, i think the E71 is more than enough for me, and its cheap smile.gif
- I do wish that it had a bigger screen tough and now that I surf a bit more on my phone, i admit i do miss the touchscreen, but still my surfing's pretty minimal on the phone i would say.

What do you intend to use your phone mostly for? Will you be retrieving office emails on your phone? Some companies dont support Symbian but I know most support WinMo. Think of it carefully before you buy, both are very nice phones if you ask me.

As far as the screens are concerned, WinMo can only display 65K colors although the device may be capable of 262K or more. However, the new HTC Touch series and the Xperia X1 have very nice high-res screens. Therefore, pictures will looks nicer on them. Screens on some S60 phones will look brighter because it can display more colors.

i guess that user is a full time WinMO. Anyway Symbian email can be retrieve let says pop mail, IMAP all it supports from its build in mail. You can even use the internet browser to browse directly to the website for push mail and blackberry the application are already available to download.

The good part with e71 is the price tag and so many functionality. On e71 you are able to create shortcut to your application but due to the size of the screen you cant put too many. PDA is good but the price tag for it is too high. Like that forumer said both phone are nice its just which you prefer.

aspire, what I meant was that some companies dont support Symbian for synchronizing office email and calendar. As far as I know, most companies support WinMo or Blackberry. Also, I dont think so that there is any push email where you have to browse directly to the website to access.....

WinMo too, you can create shortcuts on the homescreen with plug-ins...

Update on the paint coming off some of the E71's QWERTY keys..a collegue of mine who has the new E63 has the same problem. His QWERTY keyboard is larger like mine..more like the E61 of old. The paint has come off 5 - 6 keys, including the F and G keys like mine. Wierd..and he had it only for about 2 months. Keeps the phone in his trousers pocket without any cover. Cannot be due to sharp fingernails..or else the often used keys like a, e, would have had their paint rubbed off. I can see that it happens to the keys in the middle part of the keyboard. So maybe due to rubbing against the original leather pouch. I have switched to a flip case.
