QUOTE(Moshpit94 @ Nov 1 2021, 02:00 AM) My question is: 1. Does employer are allowed to do so? 2. What would be my best action to push for my final salary faster? Thanks 1. No. but nothing much u can do. 2. Call them everyday and ask when want to pay. if the people feel bored to entertain u, they will bank in immediately.

Hi, all. The story starts with N audit firm and N audit firm has 2related parties which is company A and company B. Both companies are managed by the children of the boss of N company. When they are hiring, staffs will be under Company A but after that staffs are transferred to company B but staffs are managed by the same person in the Company A and B. Suddenly, staffs have been informed by that person X that they are going to be terminated in this month with the short notice so they will compensated with 2 months payment in lieu. However, the agreement after 2days where X call the staffs to submit resignation letters rather than being terminated and they will be compensated as per verbal agreement. But next day, X announce that the staffs are cancelled to be terminated in group stating that the staffs will be transferred to N company in the next month. If the staffs insist on getting terminated and get compensation, this will not be applicable. The staffs called X and she mentioned that she is the representative for company A instead of company B (she is the director and manager of company B), what she promised for the termination and compensation is invalid as she thought she was speaking to the staffs with the basis of employing the staffs under company A instead of company B. The staffs are employed under company B and company B still in operation but the company A will be winding up. The staffs need to submit resignation letters in order to proceed for their termination in immediate but that might be a payment needed from the staffs to company which she will "try" to discuss the possibility of waiving the payment from staffs with the new manager of company B in next month since she only works until this end of month. Anyone has idea on whether the staffs can do to fight for their rights?

Just tendered my resignation last week. Hr was on leave and now ask me to get boss approval for payment in liew and early release.
I informed my boss of this and he was quiet but for some reason...hr is seeking approval. I thought if I pay advance notice in liew, which my hiring company is doing so.
Strange

Hi all, just tendered my resignation today by emailing my signed and dated letter to my direct managers with HR in cc.
But I'm just wondering if I should have informally spoken to my manager about my intention to resign, before actually serving the letter.
The reason I tendered directly without preamble is because I'm dead set on leaving the company and am not planning to accept any counter offer. Besides that, my ex-colleague had been delayed in tendering his resignation due to his manager refusing to even open his letter when my ex-colleague approached his manager personally.
Due to the above reasons, I figured that it will be more secure for me if I directly emailed my resignation notice without trying to talk to my managers beforehand.

It is fine to submit directly and also to HR (especially your HR rep). No harm done there especially since you are dead set on leaving.

If your fixed-term contract does not provide a clause on auto renewal, your contract is deemed to have come to an end. So, subject to any such clause, you are not obligated to stay

Hi all I have a few questions regarding notice period buyout.
New employer propose for me to pay my 2 months notice myself and get reimbursed as sign on bonus? However after my calculations it seems like I will be losing 2k to tax during my first month of new employment
1. Is it reasonable to ask new employer to cover the taxable amount?

You can negotiate with the HR of your new employer Never ask never get My experience they topped up a certain % of the reimbursement for that so could be at net gain / loss Get B & W from them even for the reimbursement for notice buy out this is the most important

May I know if there's severance pay at your company if you resign at your own will (not by dismissal)
Like you get few months worth of salary, if you have worked for a company for, say 3 years or more.
Every result on google only show me the severance pay you get if you get fired, or company closes down or something.

Unless stated in contract, there will not be severance paid for an employee's own resignation.

Every result on google only show me the severance pay you get if you get fired, or company closes down or something. There are certain conditions by companies which allows for "severance" if the resignation is voluntary. One of them is the Voluntary Separation Scheme QUOTE Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) is a scheme where employees are allowed to resign voluntarily from an organization by receiving fair compensation. ... Usually, most organizations choose not to retrench / lay-off their employees in order to reduce the headcount of employees. It is a case-by-case and not all companies have this in place.
