means u only can purchase apps in malaysia store which has limited choices

try registering in a US store which has more choices
*
Ooo, then i should have tweaked my registration earlier before going for the Malaysian iTunes... Still, i am spoilt for choice in our iTunes Store, tons of apps to choose from, considering our selection is not as great as that of the US! biggrin.gif

Hai guise would anyone of you know the price for the 2nd gen 8GB and 16GB Ipod Touch?

Might consider getting one after CNY. tongue.gif
*
Check out my thread for pricing also, mate... And IMO, u should get the 16GB touch... Memory space is just nice for 700+ songs as well as 11 downloaded applications, including Bejeweled 2 and Facebook (in my case)...

8GB is too little whereas 32GB is sizable but too pricey... Therefore, the 16GB is of the right size as well as not too heavy on most working ppl's budgets... thumbup.gif

No, he said that:

"And IMO, u should get the 16GB touch... Memory space is just nice for 700+ songs as well as 11 downloaded applications, including Bejeweled 2 and Facebook (in my case)..."

So I am assuming that each file for the songs are encoded in 320kbps bitrate. hmm.gif
*
Nope, a huge majority of the songs in my playlist come with a 128kbps bitrate... There is also a large number with 192kbps bitrate... MP3 with 320kbps bitrate are very limited... biggrin.gif

The total capacity for all these songs is just 3.44GB... So by right, 8GB is actually sufficient but the memory capacity would have been used by half... Thats y i went for the 16GB, as there is still around 10GB of space to play around with! thumbup.gif

Haha.. You gotta ask yourself if its necessary.. Nano is great because of the size.. Touch's size is a pain in da butt sometimes.. Too big..  tongue.gif
*
Well, the touch can be a real big iPod to carry especially when I also had a Palm in the same pocket... biggrin.gif

But now the touch stands alone, having gradually taken over the Palm's duties as appointment scheduler, contacts database, expense tracker etc... These are some of the core functions that I use the touch for, as well as the usual listening of songs, video watching, and 'net surfing! thumbup.gif

Btw, do you guys know about this?

iPod Touch HD !!!
*
Wow, that is gonna be one really large iPod touch... The current one with a 3.5" screen is considered a midget, in comparison! laugh.gif

But for me, its not practical to carry such a large "portable" music player... Cumbersome and cannot put in the pocket, unlike the present iPod touch!

Mate, like what bairo87 mentioned, u have to manually "Add" the artwork to the Info of that particular song... It's quite ma-fan but very fun actually (for me smile.gif)! laugh.gif

Oh ok. Will try later. Btw, any third party travel charger work with iPod touch 2g? How about av cable? Is those HP phone USB charger compatible with ipod ? Becos my dad HP brand smartphone is like a universal USB charger where u can detach the cable and plug in other USB cable.
*
I'm not sure about branded 3rd-party chargers like the one from Belkin but some stupid product from China nearly fried my touch and gave me a shock ohmy.gif... The thing worked well first time around, i.e. it managed to charge the iPod properly, but the second charge was disaster...

Thats y its better to go for the original iPod USB Adapter, which costs around M$110.00... It is safer and FAR more reliable than those cheap Chinese products, despite the hefty price tag!

16GB is sufficient for me actually... I only have one video and 700+ songs, not forgetting 11 downloaded applications, and this takes up around 4GB of space... Which means there is still a healthy 10GB available for use! thumbup.gif

Market price is M$949.00 for the iPod touch 8GB and M$1,229.00... Of course ppl like THTgadgets.com and many others in the Garage Sales can get it for lower prices... biggrin.gif

Simple concepts are don't overuse the WiFi, have lower brightness and minimize usage of applications especially games. Besides that, if you're listening to songs, always encode your music file at a lower bitrate and that will help a lot too. smile.gif
*
Oh ok, then i should follow this method to conserve the battery power... I usually listen to MP3s in the iPod while driving and here, i'll have the WiFi turned off as there is no need for it when in the car... But how do u encode the music at a lower bitrate, just to ask? unsure.gif

I'm now downloading the iPod software 2.2.1 with the "Download and Install" option selected...

Wow, the size is around 277MB and it will take nearly 3 hours on a P1 connection... I should only do the download tonight, when i'm at home because the time takne is too long! laugh.gif

yesterday i set the passcode for my ipod....
then suddenly i forgotten the passcode to unlock it....no choice but had to restore to factory settings...so all the data(songs, videos, games etc.) were deleted..... cry.gif  cry.gif
but since it has it's own back-up system....after it's restored i have to re sync all over again....but thank god once synced all the contents were restored exactly like the previous one.....(even my games' top scores still remained)  biggrin.gif

so if anybody forgets his/her passcode.....don't be afraid.....ur contents won't be erased forever laugh.gif
*
Well, this is indeed good advice there... But still, i don't have a passcode for my touch though! laugh.gif
