i've a lot of perfumes. To name some that i've owned b4 : Burberry Brit, Davidoff's cool water, Paco Robanne XS, Chanel Allure Sport homme and Chanel Allure Edition Blanche, Hugo Boss Badelsarrini.
of my favorites are the Chanels, very interesting smell, allure sport is fresh and edition blanche is a lil' bit of fresh and woody... They are very long lasting too. |

I think let's save the word perfume for the ladies,
Cologne would be more appropriate My personal favorite is Davidoff Coolwater Estee Lauder Pleasures for Men, Cartier for Men, Emporio Armani for Him & Issey Miyake are all recommended. |

cologne is not as strong as perfume.
cologne is eau de toilette and perfume is eau de parfum. |

QUOTE(skpr7 @ Dec 23 2008, 01:50 AM) you are wrong sir, actually alot of people think the same as you do.. but the truth is they are actually the different level of concentration..Perfume – Also known as Perfume extract, ‘Perfume’ is the most concentrated and smoothest of the four types. Typically made up of a 20-40% concentration of scented compounds, perfume is definitely the most expensive to buy. Eau de Parfum – EDP is typically made up of an 8-16% concentration of scented compounds. EDP is probably the most common type of concentration you will see at the store. An EDP scent will usually fade after four hours, but the base notes can linger for a 24 hour period. Fragrances with an EDP concentration are perfect if you need an all day scent Eau de Toilette – EDT is another very common concentration found in many fragrances. EDT is typically made up of a 4-8% concentration of scented compounds. Some people find that some EDT perfumes last a long while, but generally these are better left for night time use where the scent isn’t needed for as long. Eau de Cologne – EDC isn’t commonly found in any fragrances anymore. It doesn’t last that long, and is typically only made with a 2-4% concentration of scented compounds. Added on December 23, 2008, 8:34 pmI personally feel that every person should have 1 or 2 signature smells at a particular time, if too many different colognes are switched between every day, then the scent does not portray the person as an individual any longer, he just becomes a walking cologne sample.. i use giorgio armani acqua di gio, and giorgio armani mania, im going to change to gucci pour homme II.. i spray my colognes on my shirts, i know some people choose to spray on their body but i had some experiences on licking/kissing girls on their necks and it wasn't delightful.. therefore i choose to spray on my shirt so they would not go through that same experince =) This post has been edited by jind86: Dec 23 2008, 08:34 PM |

im glad theres a thread for perfumes! as i am an avid perfume collector!
anyone of u tried versace eau fraiche? u guys should definitely look into it! this is my secret weapon lol! whenever i hug a girl or at a party, they complement me and ask what im wearing... prada amber deserves a mention too... as for gucci by gucci(the latest), the woody smell hits your nose very "HARD" when u spray it on early stages but it "fades" after 3-5 hours, and it doesnt last long.. armani(acqua,attitude,code).. burberry is getting too common these days.. get something else guys!! just my 2 cents! |

What you should know when come to buying perfume:
1. Always go sampling with an empty stomach – when human is hungry (not until the starving stage la), your senses will be more sensitive, especially to the smell. Thus you will have a better judgment on which perfume is more suitable for you. 2. Normally when you go the counter, the promoter would love to spray the perfume on your palm. I won’t recommend it as you may ‘carry’ the smell to every counter when you are sampling other perfumes. Just ask the promoter (politely) to spray it on the rectangular sampling paper, sniff it and walk away. No, you are not being rude. You see, when the promoter sprayed the perfume to the paper, you will smell what we call as the ‘First Note’ of the perfume - the first impression of the perfume. This smell will not last long. You should wait for the ‘Base Note’ to develop, which may take 30 minutes to hours. Some of you may ask “hey what happen to the Middle Note?†You are right but trust me, not many can notice the difference between the first note and middle note. 3. Never ever sample more than 2 perfumes at one time. If you really need to, than ask (politely) for some coffee beans. And no, don’t walk away with the beans and grind them at home (ok I know I am trying to be funny). The coffee beans are meant for you to sniff to eliminate the smell of the perfume which may still ‘linger’ in your nose. Of course, by asking for coffee beans, it makes you look very classy, as if you are an expert (even thought this could be your first ever perfume). After sniffing, wait for a while and ask the promoter to spray another perfume on the sampling paper. Repeat the process of sniffing the coffee beans if you still want to sample more perfumes (and watch out for the face expression of the promoter: you want to buy or you want to ‘kau kau chan’?) 4. So if you already make up your mind which one to go for, ask the promoter to spray it on your palm and walk away. Allow the perfume to mix with your body to generate the real smell. This process may take up to 2 hours. So feel free to have your lunch (at last!), do your shopping and make your own final judgment if this perfume will reflect your personality. 5. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself being served by a ‘feminine’ boy (or guy?). After all, you will see them at most of the perfume counters. Believe me, they are more willing to explain to you the difference among a sea of perfumes and allow you to try on them (I mean the perfumes!). They have all the patience (except for one or two that I came across) and normally will not force you to purchase. Unlike some ladies at the perfume counters, their main concern is “I want to sell you this perfume although I am not sure if it suits you. So don’t waste my time as I have more important things to do (translation: to ‘pat’ with other promoters) and sorry ya even though you buy 10 bottles from me I won’t give you my mobile numberâ€. Sign….some ladies are so ‘perasan’ they think that every guy would like to bed them.… 6. Perfume should reflect your personality (when it mixes with your body chemical) so don’t apply too much perfume on your body. Sometime we don’t realize this as our sense (nose) is too used to the smell and we can’t tell if we are over applying it. Trust me, you don’t want people to ‘notice’ you 100 feet away. To me, 2 dabs are more than enough and always dab the perfume on the pulse spot as the heat generated from your pulse with emit the smell and the perfume will last longer on your body. You may practise this: one on your palm and the other one on your neck or chest. 7. If possible, get 2 or 3 different perfumes and rotate using them. Always store your perfume away from direct sunlight. If possible, do what I do: I keep them in my refrigerator This post has been edited by attacusatlas: Dec 31 2008, 12:19 AM |

I don't use perfume. But i do use "Eau De Armpit" which occurs naturally. hahaha. The only nice smelling thing i use on my body is deodorant from Nivea. And that also is occassionally. Not everytime. I'm just not acustomed to using parfum.

it depends what kind of scent u like and what perfume u are using for when and where
depends on whether u like musky masculine scents, sweet smelling or just sporty /fresh type tones so its very subjective lar. for example, if you go for a nice dinner at a restaurant u get opt for something subtle like bvlgari aqua if you go for something like an outdoor activity at night, like clubbing and u need somethin stronger, u can go for versache eau de frache or if you use it for everyday usage, u can consider things like CK crave or CK be or CK one. depending on what u like] ultimately, u have to ocnsider what u are using hte perfume for? |

It's cheap, widely available, and my family and I have a strong emotional attachment to the brand/smell. same as Brylcreem for haircream. This post has been edited by emechelmi: Feb 5 2009, 02:13 PM |

anybody tried Prada Infusion?
btw u guys should look into versace pour homme.. i went to the mall today, and tried it on.. its pretty much intense version of eau fraiche.. i will give a 7/10 rating! someone mentioned ferragamo? pour homme really blows! i got it and its stink as hell! but subtil is pretty decent... as for office use, try boss pure... u can never go wrong with hugo boss fragrances.. that fresh scent is just amazing! |

All branded perfumes cost over rm100. Only those not high end brands like Brut, Romano, Enchanteur and many more from Guardian and Watsons would cost less than RM100.

QUOTE(f1iptex @ Dec 29 2008, 09:04 PM) im glad theres a thread for perfumes! as i am an avid perfume collector! anyone of u tried versace eau fraiche? u guys should definitely look into it! this is my secret weapon lol! whenever i hug a girl or at a party, they complement me and ask what im wearing... prada amber deserves a mention too... as for gucci by gucci(the latest), the woody smell hits your nose very "HARD" when u spray it on early stages but it "fades" after 3-5 hours, and it doesnt last long.. armani(acqua,attitude,code).. burberry is getting too common these days.. get something else guys!! just my 2 cents! |

I used few perfumes, refer below:
1) Aqua Giorgio Armani - RM 180+ 2) Isymiyake - RM 200 3) CK Men - RM 220+ 4) Tous (smell girly) - RM 80 5) Shiseido Zen - RM 180 I use Tous everyday....because its cheap, i bought during the perfume clearance... By the way, i love the smell of Aqua GA.....its really nice While I am looking for other as well 1) Polo Polo 2) Raulp Lauren Silver Romance These 2 will be my next aim...i love both smell too Added on March 27, 2009, 4:43 pm QUOTE(shakiraa @ Feb 15 2009, 12:41 AM) I suggest u look for Aqua type.....those Aqua are more o less smell the same.....If u looking for light smell...should go for EDT.....EDP the content of pure perfume is higher than EDT......EDP price will be higher as well....some more now less brand will produce EDP.....EDP is not adviceable to spray on necklace o colour shirt......some too strong will left a mark permanently.....i got this experience before.....Black shirt shouldn't be any problem though....... If i wanna buy perfume, i will go to perfume counter first before i go for other shopping, then ask the promoter spary on my hand, then only go for shopping, after few hours, smell back the perfume....let see i love the smell o not...do not spray on paper n carry it, because paper got no heat...human body got heat and sweat, and will change the smell faster...u may like it on paper but not on body.......maximum one day try 2 is the most effective.......this is my advice la....not necessary follow mine..thanks This post has been edited by nyencheong: Mar 27 2009, 04:49 PM |

I have tried, Sean John Unforgivable which was nice and pleasant not too strong, suitable for classes and office environment 9/10 ladies digged it.
Then I tried PR Black XS, which was a bit strong for a 19y/o like me, the scent screams for attention might offend sensitive nose people. Then I tried Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme, which is yet the best perfume I have ever put on. |

for me, i really luv a light smell perfume, such as CK one.. I've used a few perfumes before such as :
DKNY Be Delicious (Apple scent) CK Summer (lemon) Clinique Happy (Orange) Dunhill Desire Red Armani Mania and some strong scent like Hugo Boss No. 6.. But I think the best is still Armani Mania.. For some ppl maybe said the scent is common.. I use to buy perfumes at KLIA, duty free shop.. very2 cheap~! |

very sexy for him, victoria secret (It's made by victorias secret, so if you got the guts to go into the store by yourself, your worthy of getting it.. haha. It smells amazing, I always get compliments on it and only wear it on special days.)
CK one, calvin klein (pretty much every1 is using this) curve crush (a very unique scent; you either love it or hate it. It's not something subtle that you just get a whiff of and say, "Hmm, that smells pretty nice." It's more like: "OMG, that stuff STANKS!" Or: "Holy crap, that's the best-smellin' stuff in the world!" ) lacoste ea de toilette (excellent and exquiste smell) acqua de gio, armani (best cologne on earth. however thats what every ****ing guy on the planet wears now so i no longer do. I had it far before the acqua di gio craze. now you walk into any place with 20-25 year old people and all you can smell is acqua) touch for men, burberry (ladies will flock you like bees) BVLGARI Black (get alot of compliments. I've never smelled anyone else wearing it, either. The scent notes are supposed to be rubber and tea. I love it, it's not light and fresh. It's more like dark and spicy. Only thing is, you have to wear alot, as it's very subtle, It's actually a unisex fragrance) im getting this myself soon ![]() Jean Paul Gaultier |

QUOTE(dEsTiNyy @ Feb 6 2009, 10:07 PM) i using perfume lacoste, it smell so nice... agree with lacoste there bro. I really like the smell. Just that does not bought yet since my perfume not yet finished.before this i also use hugo boss motion green, it smell nice.... i'm currently using Chic by Carolina Herrera and Friends by Moschino. Usually spray it at palm and chest. I once heard that if you want to spray at shirt, just spray it at air and walk thru the mist. Not recommended to spray direct to shirt as the perfume might leave some stain to ur shirt. One question tho, does perfume have expiry date? |

Well you should try hugo any hugo to be exact, cause they last for days if you get them on your shrt. on skin for 6hours or more.Gucci by gucci (pour homme) last for hours on me Hugo Collection 6 is for those oriental lovers, Hugo (the one with the army bottle cap) is stronger. Have you tried sean john Unforgivable Black? The Scent last longer if i'm not mistaken |

Unforgivable Black is ... rather unique.
I for one LOVE it ! Try it in parkson. As for spray deodrant I think spray types don't last that long. You better go for those concentrated roll on thingy. This post has been edited by Isx: Apr 6 2009, 05:30 PM |

I was in Parkson today, wanted to test Sean John's Unforgivable, the smell is really nice but it didn't really last very long.
Then the salesperson gave me the latest DKNY 'testing paper' (sorry I don't know the proper term), it is rather strong, but it lasts very long! Anyone tried the latest DKNY for men yet? |

Fragrances i like:
CK Escape Polo Blue Polo Black New West ST Dupont Loewe Benetton Cold (reminds me of cold winter mornings) Fragrances i have received compliments from ladies: Liz Claiborne-Curve Tuscany-Aramis Conclusion: What i like to smell on me, and what girls like, may not be the same! For example, i bought the Curve just to try (some shop selling to clear stock), didn't like the smell But in the end, use whatever your nose likes! For those pefume kakis, check out the frequent pfume warehouse sales, esp by Luxasia & Loreal. Great stuff at unbeatable prices! |

Very true, some might smell nice to you but smells like crap for someone else.. You need to sniff them out yourselves, first on the blotter strip then on your skin.. And also, try to look for oriental/woody/aromatic/sensual type scents as the aquatic fresh type fragrances are starting to get boring..

Hugo Energize for me ... nice tangerine smell. Reacts very well with my skin and lasts quite long. Nice silage.
Used Polo blue. Nice top notes and smells professional but once the top notes fade, it dries down to a boring silage. Have a Dunhill Fresh ...smells syntactic, hate it more each time I use it. Still got half bottle. Anyone want it ? |

I tested D&G The One for men a few weeks back and been thinking about it. Usually I am not a fan of woody oriental scent, but this is an exception for me.
The scent is warm and woody but modern.....definitely not those typical men cologne with overpowering musky/woody smell where it makes me pengsan ;-p So after a few weeks of consideration and a few rounds of testing on my skin, I bought it. It's a lasting scent where a spray or two is enough and can last for whole day. More info from http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id...tegoryId=C17900 |

QUOTE(freeman1314 @ May 1 2009, 06:12 PM) Pervert Hey... maybe you should consider this point. Different persons suit for different perfume as our BODY reacts differently with different alcohol contains in the perfume. Lolz juz kidding. THeres no such perfume that can guarantee such effect la. Different types of girls are attracted to different types of perfume one ma. If u wan such product go get a pheroX lo. RL Romance is nice, Paco R. XS is nice. Tried both before. Cool if you like slightly sweetly smell specially Paco R. smell like Pineapple. And RL Romance's manly and mature as for CK Eternity and AQUA G.A too. Though, if you like strong scent. Maybe you should try JPG. It lasts for day. Or, Issay M. the classic one. And if you want something cooling smell, try out the COOL WATER from DAVIDOFF. But again, you might not suit any of these till you try on your body. Cause it reacts differently. |

I have a question tho: should I go for designer perfume or the more expensive branded perfume? quality wise which one is better? are designer perfumes more inferior compared to expensive branded perfumes or are they the same? does one last longer than the other or how?
designer perfume only rm140 per 50ml while the branded ones (chanel, issey, diesel etc) costs around 200+ O.O |

Fragrances in the >100 price range are almost all designer brands and have similar high quality.. What you really want to categorize is 'mainstream' and 'niche' brands.. Mainstream brands are like CK, Hugo, Bvlgari, Burberry, etc. Basically stuff you can find in stores everywhere. Mainstream scents are more 'commercial' in a sense that they rarely experiment with exotic smells and new scent mixes.. Thus, they are more acceptable by the public..
Niche brands on the other hand are more radical with their scents and most of them turn out very unique and distinctive. But some people might not like them as well as others.. That is why they cater to a smaller market and are limited in availability. They also cost a bit more than mainstream perfumes.. Examples of niche brands are like L'Artisan, Lorenzo Villoresi, and Creed.. |

Lauder For Men not limited edition. It's just old (released in 1985). So kinda hard to get in msia..
Dior Fahrenheit one of my top 10 perfume..i don't get a duku langsat smell but i do get a motor oil/petrol smell that is very unique. Those generic perfumes smell bad of the rack generally... That's why they are so cheap.. For mass market perfumes, you are better off with Adidas, Brut, P&G,...

I have 3 bottles now, Hugo No6, Issey Miyake, Le Male JPG.
Love Issey Miyake a lot, was a bit difficult to adapt to Le Male's smells, but now I love it, addicted to it I should say. Hugo No.6 a bit too strong compare to others. |

QUOTE(JavaOne @ Dec 22 2008, 09:37 AM) Hi to all lowyatian fellow mates. I wanna ask for opinions on guys perfume since I wanna get one for myself and maybe another one for my frens birthday. Depends on the occasion and skin type. It is said the best way to find out is to take a female (preferably a blunt honest friend) to a perfumery store and get her opinion. Care to share your knowledge and experience which brand is nice? Thanks in advance What suits one may not suite another due to skin and body types. Ideally mild perfumes are worn during working hours and stronger ones in the evening. Also, the your skin care (soaps, shampoos, bathing foam etc etc) should complement the perfume, if not you may not smell pleasant. Therefore, you may opt to by skin care products from the same perfume brand, use non fragrance skin care products or experiment to find what suites you. [FONT=Times] |

GIORGIO ARMANI ATTITUDE - The lighter shaped bottle. Has strong, musky smell. I'm not a fan of musky smells, so I dont really like this one. But my bro likes it. So depends on preference.
GIORGIO ARMANI CODE - Female perfume. The male version will be Armani Mania. Nice smell too. More powerful than Acqua Di Gio. GIORGIO ARMANI ACQUA DI GIO - voted the #1 Male perfume of all time. Has a faint sweet smell, which goes easy on the nose. It's a very nice smell, but the problem is that the fake and cheap perfumes always imitate this smell. But it's a good buy. I have it. According to my personal ranking, #1 - Acqua Di Gio #2 - Armani Mania # 3 - Attitude P.S: I actually have all 3 bottles. Added on June 30, 2009, 1:20 amFor perfumes that last long, try getting those SUMMER editions. They will last longer. But depends on the type of perfume also. For me, I would think that Sean John's Unforgiveable last long. But do remember, before you spray on your perfume, do apply deodorant or body spray. The smell of perfume is NOT enough to cover body odours. One common myth people think. Without a deodorant, your BO will cover the perfume smell. And if you have bad BO, this will happen within an hour or two. This post has been edited by tehliangseng: Jun 30 2009, 01:20 AM |

My first perfume was Armani Acqua Di Gio back when I was still in college. A friend told me about this girl that said my perfume smells really nice.. Yep. Long story short she's my gf now -- thanks to the perfume. Then after Armani Code came out in 2006, I've been using it ever since.

QUOTE(John89 @ May 16 2009, 01:10 PM) Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme i got burberry the beat...love the smell..it sweet and had this kind of spicy scent...Dolce & Gabbana The One Burberry The Beat Dunhill London Can someone give their opinions for the fragrances above? I know you guys will probably ask me to go and try it out myself, because different people have different taste. I'm currently using Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani and Calvin Klein Euphoria and I love them. But I don't like Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male. |

using bulgari aqua marine. I dont like it because it can barely lasts 2 hours (it makes the girls go wild tho
it smells like a motorboat filled with grapefruit that exploded in the sea coz it has a disel-ish smell after the top notes dissappear. |

Tried so many perfumes already ranging from Tommy True Star, DKNY Men, Armani Attitude, CK one, Acqua Di Gio, Armani Code, DKNY Be Delicious, Polo Black, CK Man, CK One Summer, Polo Explorer to Hugo Boss Soul, CK Eternity, Hugo XY etc etc etc.
but my personal favorites are still CK one, armani code and acqua di gio. Currently using CK One Summer, CK Man and Armani Code. Personally not too picky when it comes to perfumes, I come, I smell, I like, I buy lol. |

QUOTE(badzeugene @ Aug 21 2009, 09:18 AM) how bout BOSS INTENSE by Hugo Boss - EAU DE PARFUM? you might wanna double check if thats for women.anyone using any eau de parfum's perfume instead of eau de toilete? why worry if anyone uses them? if you need the scent to be more intense, just go for the EDP version of your fragnance if they have it. Its rare for male perfumes to have EDP other than the "classic" houses like Guerlain, creed and annick goutal tho. also, note that the EDP and EDT of the same fragance will smell different. |

Also, different kinds of perfumes have different lasting time. EDTs are meant to be resprayed after every few hours anyway, which is why they come in huge amounts. Spraying on your chest and torso will lengthen it by a bit, while some people spray it on their clothes and hair which will make it last longer (but it will damage your hair tho)need some advise.how did u guyz spray the perfume? onto shirts or body?i see some people seems to have differ opinion on this...i spray mine on wrist and neck but it dont last very long main places to spray your perfumes are behind your ears, neck, chests, wrists and elbows. QUOTE(awangalya @ Sep 13 2009, 03:29 PM) Black XS is a very sweet smelling fragrance with a strong strawberry note. Doesn't smell like a natural strawberry to me but like strawberry jam. I personally like this scent and find it really fun and playful. At first spray it smells really strong but after an hour u might be wondering to yourself "Hell, where did Black XS go?". But no worries it stays on the body for about 8-10 hours on me but the sillage is nothing to shout about. Btw, u can get this for about RM130 (50ml) at places like Just Parfum.Added on September 19, 2009, 1:52 pm QUOTE(stupidbo @ Sep 18 2009, 08:12 AM) did anyone try davidoff cool water or davidoff silver shadow altitude before?what do u guys think about both fragrances? Davidoff Cool Water is one groundbreaking fragrance. It's like the father of colognes like Aqua Di Gio and Hugo Boss. I use Cool Water regularly and it's not bad. It's refreshing but doesn't really stand out because a lot of guys in Malaysia has it. Cool Water would be good for the office, college and a day out with the girlfriend. On me Cool Water lasts about 6-8 hours with a decent amount of sillage. You can get a 40ml bottle for RM120 at places like Just Parfum and Perfume Jewel (Tropicana City Mall). I'm a fan of Davidoff Silver Shadow Altitude and i truly enjoy wearing it from time to time. Basically Altitude is a woody fresh aquatic fragrance (frag). It's actually a flanker to the less successful Davidoff Silver Shadow. If u had tried Silver Shadow before and don't like it don't push Altitude aside just yet. The only similarities with Silver Shadow in Altitude is the sweetness. However, on its own Altitude is a decent fragrance that boasts decent longevity and sillage. On me it lasts for about 6-8 hours. IMHO Altitude is one of the better releases by Davidoff in recent years. Fortunately it's not very well known here so few guys will be wearing Altitude. Nothing groundbreaking but i rate Altitude as one of the better woody fresh aquatics currently in the market. You can get a 5oml bottle for RM188 at major department stores. Places like Just Parfum also carry Altitude but from what i observed, they only carry 100ml sizes that retail slightly cheaper than department stores. Added on September 19, 2009, 2:03 pm QUOTE(deja-vu @ Sep 19 2009, 12:20 PM) What do you guys think about burberry? And what's your favourite burberry? Burberry does release some decent colognes. At least they make an effort not to smell like every other cologne in the market (aquatic, light and fresh). My favourite from the Burberry line would be Burberry Brit for Men. Followed closely by Burberry London For Men. My least favourite Burberry would be Beat For Men which smells peppery and pungent. However one of my main issues with Burberry colognes is the lasting power. So far both London and Brit have not lasted more than 6 hours on my skin which is disappointing given how nice they smell I am thinking of getting burberry touch...any opinion on that? I have heard that the scent doesnt last long. Is it more of an evening perfume? Burberry Touch i don't think is carried by the Burberry counters in Malaysia anymore. But you could try shops like Just Parfum to see if they still have them in stock. I've only tried Touch once and it gave the impression of a strong floral woodsy perfume for men. Smells similar to the lesser known Lanvin Arpege Pour Homme (available in msia btw). from what i've heard, Touch does last 6-8 hours on average. And yes u are right Touch would be more suited for cooler evening wear. Wearing Touch in hot weather can be a little tough. This post has been edited by jonny4: Sep 19 2009, 02:03 PM |

Other than the obvious function/name, what is the difference between diesel's only the brave "normal" and summer edition?
What are the consensus here, do you prefer fuel for life or only the brave or none of the two? |

QUOTE(deja-vu @ Sep 24 2009, 04:06 PM) Other than the obvious function/name, what is the difference between diesel's only the brave "normal" and summer edition? None of the two. Fuel for Life i found it to be slightly feminine and not really for someone my age as i prefer the more masculine colognes like Kouros and Azzaro Pour Homme. What are the consensus here, do you prefer fuel for life or only the brave or none of the two? Summer editions are usually lighter and have a more prominent citrus notes. Most of the time they smell the same as the regular version, just lighter. |

How about CK one and Be? Both being unisex, do you find the scents feminine-ish or striking balance?

QUOTE(deja-vu @ Sep 24 2009, 10:35 PM) How about CK one and Be? Both being unisex, do you find the scents feminine-ish or striking balance? IMO I find ck be to be a more masculine than ck one. I own both and really enjoy wearing both as they are simple frags that work very well in hot weather. However ck be doesn't have good sillage and longevity. Whenever i wear ck be ppl need to be close to detect it. I can get a good 4 to 6 hrs longevity from ck be. CK one is much better in terms of sillage and longevity is a good 8 hours on me. Are you looking for an everyday office/college cologne or something for a special occasion ? |

QUOTE(josephchan90 @ Sep 25 2009, 04:27 PM) Element is a very unimaginative cologne IMHO. I'm not sure why Hugo Boss releases scents like this thinking us guys are so easily swayed by marketing and promotions. Element smells to me like many other men's fragrances and for RM200 for 50ml i think it's a waste of money. But to each his own.Added on September 25, 2009, 4:47 pm QUOTE(deja-vu @ Sep 25 2009, 03:23 PM) Both day/college and evening wears. Day - try ck man, ysl l'homme, versace pour homme, Bulgari Aqua and Gucci Pour Homme II. There are many more. I have CK Be and just up to recently, found out it's supposed to be unisex. XD Evening - YSL M7, Must de Cartier Essence (men's), Paco Rabanne Black XS and Chanel Antaeus. The day suggestions are fairly safer and don't stand out so much. Will be god for office/college. Evening suggestions are heavier and unique in order to attract attention such as M7 and Antaeus. Not the most famous evening colognes worn by malaysian men and not something u will see suggested by FHM or Men's Health. Give them a try u may like them. However if u want something for the evening that is safer and more generic, let me know i'll give more suggestions. Added on September 25, 2009, 4:52 pm QUOTE(don8ld @ Sep 25 2009, 03:33 PM) Here are some suggestions...Emporio Armani Diamonds for Men, Dior Homme Cologne, Chanel Allure Homme, YSL L'Homme and Kenzo Power. There are many more as the current trend in men's cologne is swinging towards the sweeter/fresh type instead of the woody/fresh aquatics of the past. The colognes suggested are easily obtainable in msia and all are suited for hot humid weather. This post has been edited by jonny4: Sep 25 2009, 04:52 PM |

QUOTE(washabushi @ Sep 26 2009, 10:36 AM) Amouage is one...retailing for RM900 for a 50ml edp/edt. Annick Goutal, L'Artisan, The Different Company and Montale are the more higher end fragrance brands. These brands are called niche houses as their main business focus is fragrances. Prices usually start at RM350 for a 50ml edt. But prices also vary between house to house and concentration. Brands like CK, Hugo Boss, Versace and Armani are the more mainstream designer brands. Their main business focus is not fragrances but rather fashion clothing. Usually colognes from these brands are affordable with an average price of RM180 for 50ml edt. Meanwhile there are other higher end designer fragrance brands like Hermes, Cartier, Bulgari and Lalique. They charge higher prices mainly to maintain their status as high end haute coutoure brands and not regular designer brand. Prices start at +/- RM250 for a 50ml edt. |

CK Crave has been discontinued. It was a failure business wise as Crave only lasted a year before production ceased.

QUOTE(-tze- @ Oct 1 2009, 08:29 PM) currently using Paco Rabanne Black XS and Burberry old london... but as jonny4 said the scent doesnt last... Try spraying a few shots to the chest (under your shirt) to make your cologne last longer. It works for me and with most colognes i get an extra few hours of longevity. I personally do 5 sprays (2 neck and 3 to chest) and i get good longevity from almost all my colognes. 5 sprays may seem a lot to some but i'm spending my hard earned money on it, i might as well let ppl around me smell it |

QUOTE(earl-ku @ Oct 2 2009, 03:07 PM) it depends on what u use, some perfume has too much alcohol which evaporates very fast and lose the smell quite fast ... It doesn't actually depend on the amount of alcohol used. Basically the amount of alcohol is about the same from fragrance to fragrance unless it's an eau de cologne intead of an eau de toilette. It depends on the type of ingredients used to make the cologne. Citrus and tea dominant colognes (ck one, euphoria, AdG for ex) tend to last between 4-6 hrs. Longer lasting colognes tend to have more wood, vanilla and herbal notes. However this is just a very small example of ingredients used to make perfume. i think calvin kleins eau de toilette is not lasting(euphoria, ck one, ck be and ck man) where else like jpg le male is so far the longest lasting perfume - eevn after a wash the clothes u can still get the end note like it was before the wash ... Well JPG is long lasting but colognes like YSL Kouros, Joop! Homme and Bogart Pour Homme will outlast JPG. The reason why i emphasize spraying to the chest is because most of the time the chest is covered by a layer of clothing. That layer of clothing will actually slow down the evaporation process as there is less contact with air compared to the neck and wrist. Also, when u spray to the chest, your clothing will also absorb a little bit of the cologne and as we all know cologne tends to last a little longer on fabric. However, spraying cologne onto clothes is not advisable as some colognes will stain clothes. Another reason being that when a cologne doesn't develop properly when sprayed on fabric. The top notes tend to last longer but the development will impaired and in some cases the cologne will smell bad. I personally use Ed Pinaud 1830, friend gave it to me, then suddenly fall in love.
The perfume not strong type, mild and unique, can`t find anywhere else got that smell. The fact is, Ed Pinaud is the supplier for Kings, Queens, Emperor, Empress and Leaders all around the world. Not making it up, can see facts on www.ed-pinaud.com <-- BTW, website in French Language, cause product from France |

QUOTE(staggerler @ Oct 6 2009, 01:29 PM) Younger women tend to prefer aquatic/fresh smelling colognes. Older women tend to prefer orientals on men. But this is just a general observation. Remember that cologne preference differs fr person to person. Sometimes it's best to go with a cologne that is not so exotic but there is a risk of u smelling like her ex bf. On the other hand wearing a unique/exotic smelling cologne may prove difficult as it's not everyone's cup of tea. This are some of the colognes that get the most compliments fr women in general - YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme - Bulgari Aqua - Dior Homme Sport - Dior Fahrenheit. |

QUOTE(staggerler @ Oct 7 2009, 08:35 PM) Cool Water is a nice fragrance but it's too common even though it was released almost 20 yrs ago. Most guys will eventually own a bottle of Cool Water some point in their lives. I actually wear Cool Water often but more as an everyday fragrance rather than for special occasions. Cool Water is like the father of aquatic colognes. It was Cool Water that started the whole fresh aquatic craze that is still strong among men. No harm in owning it but just remember that it's very common and there are a lot of Cool Water clones in the form of cheap cologne, after shave and air fresheners.Added on October 7, 2009, 11:03 pm QUOTE(chuakz @ Oct 7 2009, 10:00 PM) jonny4...seems like u're an expert on men's perfumes....so....care to recommend some perfumes for me? for normal everyday perfumes to use on special occasions....hmm best if its a less common fragrance since alot of fragrances everybody is using... From my experience if u want to stand out from the crowd with a fragrance go with the older colognes. Stuff like Aqua di Gio and Cool Water are just too common. Try orientals like Gucci Envy for Men, Must de Cartier Essence and Cartier Pasha. U will definitely stand out wearing one of those. However be warned that in our weather orientals can sometimes be too overpowering and might be uncomfortable for u. Aromatic fougere colognes like YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme and Paco Rabanne Pour Homme are versatile enough for both hot and cold weather but these colognes tend to be more mature smelling...meaning that some ppl will perceive them to be "uncle" smelling...but on the other hand some girls find these mature colognes irresistible. QUOTE(public holiday @ Oct 8 2009, 10:42 PM) Its nothing groundbreaking but it's very decent and i dont think many guys wear it. I personally like Altitude very much. But it's not really strong so not everyone will be able to smell it. Well i do like powerful frags though. Altitude is a woody aquatic that's a bit on the sweet side but very well blended together. |

QUOTE(Eisenmeteor @ Oct 13 2009, 01:02 PM) If u like it go ahead and wear it with confidence. Some of my favourite perfumes were released even before my parents were born. Like Chanel Pour Monsieur (1955) and Christian Dior Eau Sauvage (1966). Those two stood the test of time and is still being produced to this day. What year a perfume was released doesn't matter. Trends are seasonal but class is permanent. |

I'm no sifu man haha..just got more interest in fragrances compared to the average guy.
I personally think couples perfumes are a marketing gimmick But Burberry Brit for Men and Brit (edt) go well together although both don't smell alike. For couples that want to smell alike i think ck one should be alright. Can't think of anything else atm LOL |

No worries if you bought Element. My opinion is not important instead if u like Element wear it with confidence. Element certainly won't offend anyone. Actually there are many colognes that last long on skin but seeing that u bought Element i'm guessing u prefer fresh aquatic smelling colognes. In general these type of colognes don't last long because they are meant to be worn in summer/hot weather. So if u can get 6 hours longevity count yourself lucky fresh aquatics that last on me are Bulgari Aqua, Versace Pour Homme, Chanel Platinum Egoiste and Chanel Allure Homme Sport. Some say that skin chemistry causes longevity to differ from individual to individual but i can assure those colognes above will last at least 6 hours no matter your skin type. On the other hand, if u really want something that lasts and lasts try YSL Kouros, YSL Opium Pour Homme edt/edp, YSL M7, YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme, Chanel Antaeus, Dior Fahrenheit, JPG Le Male, JPG Fleur du Male, etc. As u can see YSL colognes lasts a very long time But these colognes are not the type that will appeal to everyone unlike the fresh aquatics i suggested earlier. So make sure u test them a few times on skin 1st before purchasing. Generally heavier long lasting colognes are not really suitable for hot humid weather as they tend to get cloying and choking when u start to sweat. But most of us are in air conditioned environments most of the day so I see no problem whatsoever. But u might have to tahan a while when u step out 4 lunch at the nearby mamak LOL. |

Hi jonny,
Haha not sifu den i'll call you as my master. Questions for you, does All YSL perfumes last for a long time? Normally i've got customers asking me what perfumes can last for a long time. I've no idea how to answer them the question, because I dont own all the perfumes. Only own a few type so I can only give my very own opinion base on those. Can I know which type of perfumes tend to last longer? Thanks mate |

Very hard to determine as the fakes nowadays are very well made. If its cheaper by RM20-30 then I feel it's still better to go to department store counter. But if it's RM100 or more cheaper I won't mind taking the risk. U could try this shop called Just Parfum. But Jonny has it so we'll just have to wait for him to comment more. This perfume is voted as the "Best Men's Fragrance for Day Wear" Has any tried this one? Any comments from you guys? Added on October 20, 2009, 3:51 pm its classified as an Oriental. Oriental perfumes are more suited for evening wear since it is too strong. Use it for the special occasions. If you like you might wanna try Chanel Egoiste or YSL l'homme. |

QUOTE(Johannbeckham @ Oct 20 2009, 03:45 PM) guys I've find out about this perfume "Terre d'Hermès by Hermès" in this site http://www.basenotes.net/awards/2009/mbest.html Terre d'Hermes (TdH) IMO is one of the best designer releases so far in the past few years. It's really different from the run of the mill citrus/fresh/aquatic fr the likes of CK, Gucci and Hugo Boss. It starts of with a very strong grapefruit note but u can smell earthy stone like notes and woods in the background. The middle part of the fragrance shows its woodsy side (cedar) and then it finishes off with an earthy gun powder like basenotes. Throughout the whole progression the grapefruit note is noticeable. But u really got to try this on your skin and don't let the 1st 15 mins scare you away. And like joey said, TdH is complex so we need to give the cologne some time to show its true beauty. TdH lasts on me for about 10 hours and is very noticeable for the 1st 2-3 hours. I do detect a slight hint of soapiness in TdH especially in the middle notes. This perfume is voted as the "Best Men's Fragrance for Day Wear" Has any tried this one? Any comments from you guys? Do u know any shop where this is already available? I've worn it on numerous occasions but TdH works best in the day (in an air conditioned environment). It may have been voted "Best Men's Fragrance for Day Wear" but i feel that applies for light summers (20C to 25C) not our 32C weather. It can be quite cloying when worn in the heat of the afternoon. It's widely available at Hermes counters (Parkson@Pavilion, Isetan@Gardens and Parkson@KLCC) and Hermes boutiques (KLCC & Pavilion). 50ml retails for roughly RM256, 100ml retails for roughly RM300-325. Added on October 20, 2009, 4:46 pm QUOTE(Johannbeckham @ Oct 20 2009, 02:01 PM) after smellin alot of perfume this mornin, finally I settled myself to Gucci Envy. What do u think of this perfume jonny4? I have Envy and it's a very wearable oriental fragrance. It's one of the few orientals that can be worn safely in our weather during the day. I would say Envy is safe to wear to the office (only if u don't spray too much, nothing more than 5 or 6 sprays). It's quite affordable too and I think I bought mine from Just Parfum for RM160. Nah i don't think it's too strong...if u let it settle Envy actually becomes quite subtle and is extremely pleasing to the nose. But this is my view though and u might have a diff experience altogether Dude...Envy is quite scarce nowadays as the don't seem to be interested in stocking it up. I think they maybe slowly phasing out Envy as I notices that at the Gucci counters, Envy is always sitting at some obscure corner. So if u like Envy better get it before it becomes history. However in other countries Envy is widely available. Added on October 20, 2009, 4:56 pm QUOTE(deja-vu @ Oct 20 2009, 03:44 PM) Echoing what Joey said, all depends on the cologne itself. Hermes has a cologne called Eau D'Orange Verte that costs RM220 for 100ml. It smells bloody good but lasts for an hour. I have a perfume called Bogart Pour Homme that cost me RM120 for 50ml. This perfume is so strong that it can last 24 hours or more on skin and maybe a few days on clothes. If it smells good n it's not fake RM140-RM150 for 100ml sounds good. This post has been edited by jonny4: Oct 20 2009, 04:56 PM |

You know what, I think your right when you say that Cucci Envy is not too strong. I bought it during lunch break today and put it on around 2PM. At first I thought the perfume would give me some sinusitis attack coz it's a bit strong to my newb nose. But after awhile wearing it here in the office (obviously in an airconditioned room), it really smells good. Not strong at all. Your right when you say that you just have to let it settle, to realize its full potential. I love it now seriously (I thought at first that I made a wrong decision about buying it). Well, I don't know what will happen when I wear it outside this air-conditioned room, I'll know it later when I go out and meet some friends. Then I can also test how long this fragrance last.Added on October 20, 2009, 4:46 pm I have Envy and it's a very wearable oriental fragrance. ... So now I have two perfume to date in two weeks which is Hugo Element (having this Aquatic/Bit Woody Smell)and Cucci Envy (Havin this Oriental Smell). I'm thinking of having another this weekend. By the way, I want to ask you guys if buying perfume in LCCT/Changi Airport Duty Free shop is really a place where I can get good cheaper prize? Cause I'm goin to Singapore this Saturday and was planning to pass by any duty free shop in both of this airports to sniff/try or even buy perfume (which airport do u think is better to buy perfume from). So far, base on what I've read on your post, I'm thinking of buying either one (or both, depends whether I really like it or not) of these: 1. Terre d'Hermes 2. Channel Platinum Egoiste Let me know your thoughts on this guys. |

It has a cinnamon - chocolately vibe to it as a result of the blending of the middle notes and the base notes of sandalwood and vanilla. Egoiste platinum pales in comparison and it smells somewhat metallic. |

But take nothing away from Platinum as it's a very long lasting fragrance and a high quality one at that. It's just too bad that it shares the same name with Egoiste. But if u mean regular cologne, which is actually Eau de Toilette then it leaves us guys with very few options to choose from. Very few fragrances for men are released in Eau de Parfum concentrations. EDPs cost a bomb too. There are many edts that last an insane amount of time. YSL Kouros, JPG Le Male and Guerlain Vetiver are just a few of many edts that lasts more than 12 hours on my skin. -Bulgari Aqua -versace eau fraich -sean jean unforgivable -Gucci by gucci (pour homme)--mainly because many say it long lasting I've used Davidoff Cool water before. now i'm using Polo Double Black. How does Bulgari Aqua compares to Cool water? versace eau fraich and Sean Jean Unforgivable are totally new for me.never heard of them before, but would very like to try it. QUOTE(deja-vu @ Oct 24 2009, 08:08 PM) Why are summer editions perfume cheaper than their original counterpart? They are cheaper because of marketing usually and sometimes because the concentrations might be less than the regular version. Some summer editions are EDCs instead of the standard EDT. From what i understand the only differences between both is that citrus is added in the summer ed ones? what do you guys think of ck one summer or ck eternity summer? Citrus is a very common ingredient in perfumery. Usually in summer editions the citrus note is amplified to become more prominent. As we all know citrus gives the impression of fresh, invigorating and relaxing to our noses. Other than a stronger citrus note, summer editions sometimes have lesser amounts of other ingredients compared to the regular version. This is usually done not to save cost but instead to make the fragrance less dense, cloying and strong. CK One Summer has between 5-6 versions iirc. They always smell different from year to year. My personal fav is the 2006 version. The 2009 version smells too sweet to me and i feel quite girly. There's a prominent pineapple note. Eternity has 5 Summer versions to date but unfortunately I've only worn the 2006 version that is not bad. Haven't tried the 2009 version. Summer version of a fragrance are usually a hit and miss for me. They either smell really good or really bad and they don't last very long. Added on October 25, 2009, 2:05 am QUOTE(syiafuku @ Oct 24 2009, 10:50 PM) Hi guys Out of your list Bulgari Aqua would be the best of the bunch IMO. But I must warn you about Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme. It is not long lasting at all ! Its longevity i would say is about 4 hours give or take. A person would practically have to hug u to be able to detect it. I know this because i wasted Rm210 on this a few months ago. When i do wear Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme, I would need about 10 sprays or more. Yes it's that weak. If u can get it for less than half price then it's worth it. -Bulgari Aqua -versace eau fraich -sean jean unforgivable -Gucci by gucci (pour homme)--mainly because many say it long lasting I've used Davidoff Cool water before. now i'm using Polo Double Black. Cool Water is a great fragrance IMO but the problem is every guys in Malaysia either owns a bottle or is going to buy at least one in the future. So it's just too common. But I do have a bottle and I wear it often because it's that good Cool Water doesn't last very long though compared to Bulgari Aqua. Personally Bulgari Aqua is a better made fragrance compared to Cool Water and the other two. Your Double Black however would outlast all 3. Eau Fraiche basically smells similar to D&G Light Blue for Women. It's a long story but basically D&G sold the Light Blue formula to Versace and they used it to make Eau Fraiche. Try both and u will see the similarities. Eau Fraiche is good but I prefer Light Blue for Women. Unforgivable is alright, a rather average short lasting fragrance. Unforgivable is a copy of Creed's Millesime Imperial but Unforgivale is 3 times cheaper than the Creed. Millesime Imperial last much longer than Unforgivable though and smells slightly better. I went with Unforgivable because I don't see the economics of spending RM600 on a bottle of perfume. Colognes from that time period tend to be stronger smelling n longer lasting compared to the expensive short lasting stuff nowadays. Even better news is that colognes from the 80s and 90s tend to be cheaper than the newest colognes. But that doesn't mean all of the newer stuff are short lasting. Some like Kenzo Power, YSL M7 and Lanvin Arpege can survive a bath or 2. There are a lot of resources and reviews online to help in finding a cologne that is fresh and long lasting. |

QUOTE(syiafuku @ Oct 25 2009, 06:49 PM) woah u really know a lot about perfumes. i'm not very sure but my double black usually lasts from 1-2 hours only.i spray on my wrist and neck. but maybe it's because i have used it sparingly. 2-3 sprays most of the time 1-2 hrs ? Impossible that it's so short lasting. 1 spray on my arm and it lasts at least 5 hours. Don't be fooled by the top notes because they never last.Added on October 25, 2009, 9:16 pm QUOTE(razorcyrus @ Oct 25 2009, 03:42 PM) Hmmm, how does YSL M7 and Kenzo Power smell like?? I was at Metrojaya Mid Valley yesterday and nobody was at the Kenzo counter! Different like night and day both. Hard to say which is better as both are so different. But i prefer wearing Kenzo POwer over M7.This post has been edited by jonny4: Oct 25 2009, 09:16 PM |

QUOTE(banana_tk @ Oct 25 2009, 07:23 PM) can anyone suggest me I think to be safer go for Bvlgari Aqua, bvlgari aqua or aqua marine is better more prefer fresh citrus smell n which 1 is more lasting I've seen more positive feedbacks from user for that perfume. Aqua Marine gets more negative feedbacks. But actually i've personally tried Bvlgari Acqua Marine at Packson before, The smell of it is kinda fresh, yes I admit it's unique. I guess normally all bulgari perfumes smells unique. I still can remember the smell of acqua marine because it's that unique, but I dont think i'll get one bottle of acqua marine. But you should try it out yourself at counters, decide which will go well with your daily life. |

Just came back to Singapore last night and ofcourse while Im still in CHangi Airport, I went to Duty Free shop there and smelled the Terre D Hermes and man, that perfume smells so good. It's cause a bomb also for a 50ml bottle cost SGD$100 (net of taxes already). I get a tip to go to Mustafa but unfortunately, while I was in Singapore I was so busy to go to Mustafa. I might get tht perfume cheaper there.
Johhny4/Joey, I've been hearing about Kenzo Power and YSL M7 here in this thread. Your giving me certain doubt about choosin Terre and to try these perfumes out. Maybe I'm just being so bias for choosin Terre D Hermes because It won an award for Best Day Wear Perfume last year. I think I should go and compare these 3 perfumes (Terre D Hermes, Kenzo Power and YSL M7) out to see which perfume would compliment my initial collection of perfumes (Hugo Element & Cucci Envy). What's your take on this? This post has been edited by Johannbeckham: Oct 26 2009, 10:26 AM |

What's your take on this? SGD 100 is too much to pay for TdH as the price is similar if not cheaper here. Maybe u can head to Mustafa the next time u go down south. I feel that the awards don't mean a thing. A cologne can win 100 awards but if u don't like how it smells that's the end of the story. So don't choose a cologne just because it has won awards. That's how i go about choosing colognes, by following your instinct and your nose. TdH, Power and M7 are all very different. I think the only similarities between the three is that they are long lasting and sweet. Here's my impression on all 3: TdH - Bitter oranges, woody and a gunpowder like smokiness. Power - Sweet creamy florals. It's quite feminine though and i feel can be worn by both sexes. M7 - Sweet medicinal cherry cough syrup with bitterness in the background. Hints of vanilla too. If I were u M7 would be my choice. Element is light, Envy is average strength and M7 would be that strong evening wear cologne. But test on skin 1st though. Prices at major department stores like Tangs, Isetan and Takashimaya are going to be either equal or more expensive than prices here. But according to my SG friends, there are some places in Mustafa where prices can go as low as SGD50 for a 100ml bottle. Of course don't expect the latest colognes to be obtainable at such low prices. SG also has a bigger selection of fragrances to choose from compared to Msia. The new Allure Homme Edition Blanche is retailing for RM210 so the much older Allure Sport should be less. A lot of us are fooled to think that a perfume is weak just because a couple of hrs after we spray it on it doesn't smell the same/strong anymore. But it was made to progress that way. I have worn a few perfumes that smell the same from start to finish and trust me it can be quite tiresome and cloying after 3-4 hrs. Versace Eau Fraiche and Unforgivable is very common and available in almost every department store in the KL/PJ area. So Parkson KLCC most definitely has it. Im a bit shy in saying this but I have a lot of colognes that's why they get worn only once a month By the way, do you have these perfumes? Have you been using it every since you bought them? Colognes i really like i wear maybe 2-3 times a month but never more than once a week |

You got to be a little thick skin as the sales assistants sometimes think it's weird that u want to spray your skin instead of paper. I've gotten a few "Are you serious ?" look from them when i asked them to spray my arm. I remember one male sales assistant being so reluctant to spray my arm that I asked him to pass the tester to me so I could have a closer look. I took the bottle from him and sprayed my arm twice...he was shocked and angry at what i did LOL. Most of them will not hesitate to spray your arm when requested. Im using CK Eternity for Men summer..Trying to get another type of perfume..Anything similar? Eternity Summer I've only worn the 2006 edition so i'm not too sure. But Paco Rabanne XS smells similar to Eternity so u might want to give that a try. |

Gucci Envy is one of my favourites too. I got 2 bottles as I expect Envy to be very much a hard to get fragrance in Malaysia in a few years time.

Do you think there is 30ml bottle available for TDH, Kenzo Power and M7? Kenzo Power, 60ml and 120ml M7, 50ml and 100ml only. Quite often the importers here won't bring in 30ml sizes and prefer us to buy 100ml sizes. That's why u can see that most of the time the nicer free gifts come with 100ml bottles. It's actually more economical to buy 100ml sizes but I personally prefer smaller sizes as they save space and in my case won't take me a few years to finish a bottle. QUOTE(Eisenmeteor @ Oct 27 2009, 11:11 PM) Well i have many bottles of colognes. If I tell u the exact amount of bottles I own u r in for a shock LOL. So taking a year to finish a 100ml bottle is specially for my case. If u have a few bottles then a 100ml bottle will take maybe less than a year to finish if worn daily. Also depends on the no of sprays u use. |

Hail jonny4 from the enclave!! Here's my array of cologne:
RL Romance Silver SJ Unforgiveable Lacoste Essential Acqua Di Gio (Can you suggest when to use which cologne? Still couldn't figure out the right combination) Looking to add 2 more to my collection. 1 for office & other for casual. Any suggestions? considering Chanel Egoiste Platinum and versace eau fraiche at the moment. Please advise. Thanks!! |

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Oct 27 2009, 11:05 PM) Gucci Envy - 50ml RM190 I bought my 50ml Gucci Envy in World of Perfume shop in Souka Mall near KL Sentral for RM169. If your near that area, then you can buy it from there. Bulgari Aqua - 50ml RM215, usually comes in a gift set consisting of shower gel n toiletry bag. Look out for that. Unfortunately, that shop don't carry the perfumes that I want (which is TDH, Kenzo Power & M7) for it's just a small shop at the 3rd floor of Souka Mall. I need to go to KLCC I think or Pavillion to find the perfumes that I want. This post has been edited by Johannbeckham: Oct 28 2009, 03:48 PM |

Unforgivable - Office/casual Lacoste Essential - Office/casual Acqua di Gio - Office/casual Dude your collection is heavily citrus dominant and almost all can be categorized as office colognes. Egoiste Platinum n Eau Fraiche are also office friendly colognes. Why not go for something sweet or spicy like Dior Homme, Gucci Envy, YSL Opium Pour Homme and Givenchy Pi for special occasions and clubbing. QUOTE(razorcyrus @ Oct 28 2009, 07:59 PM) Rive Gauche and M7 are both sweet, more so for M7 but the sweetness in both is the mature kind not the fruity bubble gum sweetness that is common in many male fragrances today. But I am speaking in general terms though and what a women likes may differ Added on October 28, 2009, 10:49 pm QUOTE(Johannbeckham @ Oct 28 2009, 09:18 PM) i just bought TDH this evening at Parkson KLCC. I can't wait to wear them tom. I also tried sniffing M7 but for some reason I'm not attracted to it. I don't know why. I tried kenzo power on my skin and man o man, the perfume smells so good. I think I know now which perfume is my next purchase. I love it. Dude u r becoming a perfume addict like me ! HAHA. Kenzo Power good ain't it...lol. Some find it feminine but I find it very unique and refreshing compared to the usual fruity aquatic fragrance. I bought it on the spot after smelling it. Added on October 28, 2009, 11:03 pm QUOTE(heavenx @ Oct 28 2009, 08:05 PM) wanna ask how about Lanvin L'Homme Sport? is it long lasting.. Lanvin L'Homme Sport is quite good but the longevity is rather average. I don't own one but judging from a skin test i done i would say longevity is in the range of 4-6 hrs. btw how to know for day or evening used?? btw jonny4 thanks i already bought kenzo power and i love it.. actually i got this davidoff adventure a gift from my friend i dont really like it.. just wanna know is it day or evening used and what occasion is suitable to wear it.. Generally, in the day lighter colognes are preffered (e.g Aqua di Gio, Cool Water, Eternity). Whereas at night heavier sweeter colognes are preferred (e.g Armani Code, Gucci Envy and Thierry Mugler A*Men). But in the end it depends more on an individual's preference. I myself don't really categorize my fragrances between night and day. But wearing something super heavy like A*Men to the office is not going to help make you friends in the office. While wearing Aqua di Gio to a classy dinner ain't going to help give you a aura of class and sophistication. Davidoff Adventure i tested today and it's very subtle. It can last long but too subtle even for the wearer to detect. Adventure should ok to be worn for any occasion night or day. This post has been edited by jonny4: Oct 28 2009, 11:03 PM |

This is some simple pleasure we can have cause it just not benefit us but those people around us (by giving them very pleasant scent...Hopefully I won't be the reason for them to remember their ex'es hehehe). Kenzo Power is a floral fragrance for men. The powdery smell is quite mild actually compared some fragrances. I don't think many guys wear Power so u would be smelling quite unique. Maybe after a few wearing u will come to appreciate that powdery smell Yeah man, Kenzo Power is so good. Although after quite sometime wearing it, it smells sort of powderly like smell. But if i spray Kouros in my room and it hits any kind of fabric then i think Kouros will last maybe a week or two. IMO I don't categorize Live Jazz as a powerhouse like you do. For me it's just average longevity and sillage. |
