SeaGates, the ping times are fairly ok, at least better than previously. But its the packet loss. Are you on 1Mbps? Which general area are you in, if you don't mind?
Also, maybe it takes time for things to shake out into place. The links are suddenly having to do extra work after being asleep for sooo looong... Just saw your additional comments. See how the mzima.net is such different ping times? The www.di.fm is going HK -> Tokyo -> LA. There is packet loss somewhere on the way. This is the sort of bad routing TM has been having causing all sorts of problems for us. This post has been edited by mylinear: Jan 9 2009, 07:06 PM |

The www.di.fm is going HK -> Tokyo -> LA. There is packet loss somewhere on the way. This is the sort of bad routing TM has been having causing all sorts of problems for us. I am not concerned with latency nor I am concerned with bandwidth as I don't do huge download often. I can compensate for 0.5ms, it's hardly significant unless you're doing games that require low latency. It's the packet loss that annoys because some games will see it as timeout and disconnect you or the game fail to respond to your input. I don't know but things did not improve for sites/services that I use unfortunately. So I am still not happy, as with the routing I already raised my concern to them about it and asked them to stop throwing out data all over the place before reaching our destination. I don't like listening to my radio when it's choppy. QUOTE(mylinear @ Jan 9 2009, 09:26 PM) ATTN: TM Techs (if you are reading) Kinda pointless to just reroute specific routes etc, imo they should do a general reroute so they don't send everything around the world before reaching any destination.Route is London -> New York -> Loas Angeles. Should take direct US route. Route is London -> US. Should take direct US route. Route is Hong Kong -> Tokyo -> Los Angeles. Should take direct US route. The route to Germany is direct but it's still slow, so I wonder why, I can be wrong on that though, not sure how tracert reacts with router based connection. Speed and latency is ok now, just need to rectify the vital packet loss problem. This post has been edited by SeaGates: Jan 9 2009, 09:33 PM |

It seems that most of the site that was unable to access during the incident, are working as usual. Furthermore, mediafire link seems to be downloading at reasonable speed (compared during the incident), so kudos streamyx =).
Edit: Ip range 60.53.*.*. Megaupload is working fine aswell (use to get either <10kB/s or timeout, heh). This post has been edited by ahpek26: Jan 9 2009, 11:43 PM |

maybe dns f**k up again.
Well, it looks like that the US connection recovered again. The crawling 2kbps download suddenly jumped to 50kbps today when I got back from work. Looks like that TM route the packet through atlantic instead of pacific direction. I dun have any problem with my Eve Online connection last time which is weird. Maybe it connect thru china?
