screamx is fixed?

I can't even download from normal web servers. I've been trying to download google earth the whole night for over 5 times now. download just stops at 25% until it times out and I've gotten myself a premature installer.

Recently I gotten many corrupted downloads with checksum fails too.

Anyone else experiencing this?

This happens ever since the fateful day my house got struck by lightning. Probably fried their DSLAM(I know nothing, don't blame me unsure.gif ) or something. Now, SNR Margin is hitting rock bottom and my noise is going sky high, and I only get full 512k speed during the morning to around evening. After that I'm doing like 20 kB/s zzzz even after stressing http, torrent, everything all at once to the max. Can't do online gaming while dloading anymore doh.gif .

SERVICE INTERRUPTION

Dear Valued Customers,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad ™ wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuits fault on Southeast Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 4 (SMW4) submarine cable network between Palermo (Southern Italy) and Alexandria (Northern Egypt) linking Malaysia to Europe. Due to this, customers using Internet services may now experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in Europe.

In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to Europe may also experience some service degradation.

To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, in the restoration process, traffic to Northern America may experience minor degradation while traffic to other countries is not affected. TM expects the complete recovery of its services by December 31, 2008. TM will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works.

TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible.

Customers can call TM at 100 and select ā€œInternet Servicesā€ or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems.

Thank You.

Did anyone follow up on this matter?
They will make further announcement? In their a$s maybe.
As soon as possible should be changed to slowest possible.

Call TM support and ask them to check your port status. Ask whether your SNR or noise margin is in the red. Ask them to refresh / reset your port settings. Then connect again and see if that helps. Otherwise, make a report with them so that they can ask a technician to check your port.

Hey TS,

I think you need to tutup this thread already. The cables are fixed. If you guys wanna discuss about TM's problem on the cable or whatever,
please create a new topic.

Thanks wink.gif

Today I am getting download of less than 300kb/s from London on Speedtest.net IP 60.48.165.33. sad.gif
Infact have been getting <300 kb/s mad.gif for whole of last week no matter what IP I am connected (60.49.X.X/60.50.X.X etc) using Firefox Bandwidth Meter & Diagnostic Extension.
Take forever even loading pdf file on price list from Lowyat.net.
I am on 1500kb/s streamyx subscription.
Anyone have similar experience esp. those from Penang?
