I suspect this time out happen because of rerouting from the Europe web user to US line that clogged us out.
Tmnet has been rerounte the line to Europe to Asia->US-> Europe. No is no problem with US line. it is the over use of bandwidth from Europe web user than Clog us out. I am pretty sure Tmnet Do not have enough bandwidth to serve both US & Europe web user using the Malaysia->US route. Extra packets are being drop out or delayed, giving the priority to Commercial users first than us the home user. This is why we have high ping/ timeout. The line is OK, just the bandwidth isnt enough to feed both US/ Europe User. I have no lag problem last night, and this morning the lag kicks in again and it gets from bad to worst as we move to near 12pm. More user wake up and use the line? |

QUOTE(Loongy22 @ Dec 27 2008, 11:30 AM) Will using one of those VPN services like bolehVPN decrease my latency time to websites in US? or reduce my ping timeouts? thats only apply if ur VPN line isnt the same route as TMnut's one. I am pretty sure that will fix this lag problem. (if ur VPN is lag free)our Home user's packet get kick out for Commercial user. :/ This post has been edited by billytong: Dec 27 2008, 12:23 PM |

I already told u guys, it is the freaking stupid TMnut clogged the ultra small US line by rerouting and the US do not have enough bandwidth, which is not happening if the ISP buy more international backbone bandwidth. Definately TMnut trying to sqeeze as much money out of us but not willing to spend money on bandwidth expansion.

QUOTE(ihawk98 @ Dec 31 2008, 11:42 AM) it all depends on whether screamyx has contingencies in place. not just rerouting but ability to activate additional bandwidth on the Pacific side. i think they don't. Tmnet did reroute through pacific Side, but just that they squeeze and congested the already congested US line. Our US line/pacific line usage is more like 90% already, and then Tmnet squeeze those Europe webuser into this area, thus making a lot of packet get dropped due to insufficient bandwidth. Which it explains why would a US line lag after the Europe cable was broken. BUT, i've switched to my other ISP and everything is fine....so go figure.... Another issue is one thing I would wonder why would a undersea cable so fragile that a normal Ship anchor or Earth quake can broke that cable? Those cows who build those cables is stupid. It is building a watch(clock) without water resistant. |

QUOTE(c2p @ Dec 31 2008, 12:47 PM) Hah... they would have thought of this bro.... it's supposed to be sooo deep that the anchors can't reach... imagine.. the whole internet is dependent on wires... They should put some shields or something to cover the wires. Even a 3yrs old kid would know the problem. |

Ping rate has yet to fix. @ 60.53.xxx.xx line. Base on TMnet anouncement we use SAMEWE 4
CODE Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuits fault on Southeast Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 4 (SMW4) submarine cable network between Palermo (Southern Italy) and Alexandria (Northern Egypt) linking Malaysia to Europe. Due to this, customers using Internet services may now experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in Europe. and the news SAMEWE 4 is gonna ve fixxed by Jan 2th, and in.another 30minutes EST will become Jan 3. I am gonna see how much delay Tmnet gonna be after the cable is fixxed. 1 week? 2 week? This post has been edited by billytong: Jan 3 2009, 11:29 AM |

I am that serious, I dont mind paying RM200 per month for 512Kbps if the ping time is <70ms 24/7 365 days to US/Europe. But hell all we get is 300+ms.

I personally feel everyone of us get cheated by Tmnet. it is like half of the month we get no proper internet, and we still paying them 1 full month. Back in those days somewhere in May year xxxx Tmnet did give us the rebate for the month that have bad connections.

QUOTE(batuapi @ Jan 5 2009, 01:54 AM) You will never get back the speed. Wow u actually think those cows in TMnet know how to earn that kind of money? This cable cut presented TM.net with an opportunity to reroute their bandwidth to cater more for the corporate users. Dream on peeps, this is the speed we'll be stuck with forever. I bet differ. I bet Tmnet didnt no act fast enough reroute the line back to normal. Their Engineer/admin probably sleeping Through out the weekend and "hope" they fix the line today. |
