erm, i use habitrail ovo den, put some sand in it, when the hamster found it, it will automatically roll on the sand, thats how the bath themselve..
my hamster not only roll on the sand, but also poo and sleep on the sand, dont know y.. as long as they happy, then i'm happy too.. |

petshop hamsters are like that. they're afraid that other hamsters are out there to kill them. they're very wary. my ferro's a light sleeper. my roche who's home bred, sleeps like a dead dog. lol.
never bathe a hamster with water. for dwarves, use bathing sand. for syrians, no need anything o. they clean themselves just fine. |

yup, u need a container. if the container is inside the cage, the hamster will go inside theirself, no need to bring the hamster out. they love the sand, will play with the sand most of the time

Huhu.. After 1 and half day finding shop sell Syarian types. Now I got it. Bought Male "Seekor" at RM15.
Hmm here easy to find WW and Robo than syarian. Tonite will update my new friend picture. P/S: The cage is soo small. Tomorrow will buy new one. Maybe 2 feet aquarium or Habitrail Safari is enough ? |

Breeder calect absorbs pee like a sponge, so I don't use toilet sand.
yeah, poor tiny I just cleaned her house yesterday and later she was attempting to escape and bite a hole in the tank, scared like heck. Tak boleh lah On the caresheet it says clean once a week, but in all honesty how often you guys clean your ham's cage? |

something happened to Toph 2days ago...
i woke up early in the morning to clean their tank, and found out Toph was missing.. he wasnt' in his house, or anywhere in his tank... the small lid of his 2ft tank was opened, so i thought he escaped... i searched all the places i thought he would hide in....but to no success... then my fren came after i alerted them regarding Toph... and said she thinks its impossible for Toph to escape his tank in such tank-setting.. then i said..."takkan he's under the see-saw..." and when i turned over the see-saw toy....He was STUCKED under the see-saw! Goodness gracious...!! he didn't moved and i thought he was already dead until he suddenly 'pop-out' from underneath the see-saw! huhuhuhu it hurted so much to see his condition....his body looked like he was squeezed, and he was wet at his head and bit of his body parts.... fortunately after sometime, he got back to his normal look...eating, drinking, and playing well.... i tot i lost him im not using the see-saw toy oredi...wonder how he got stucked underneath that thing.... u guys better be careful of ur toys ya... |

Wow, dangerous toys are dangerous
beware of anything that a hamster can crawl under, anything that is hollow. Good thing you managed to find your hamster...imagine if he stuck there for a long time. Sure kapui This post has been edited by Sophiera: Feb 23 2009, 03:19 PM |
