Interesting, many says that Vios is more powerful than City.
When I had my test drive with Vios (right after launching in 07), The car was struggling and the pick up was
quite poor. Than after 6 months I had my 2nd test drive with the same car again and this time around the sound that came when cornering has been rectified and the pick up was much better. And the last time, when I test again, things look more smother but I am not that all excited about the car.

Now on the test drive with New City. Initially I too thought it was under power but when I got used a bit with its accelerator and man how wrong I was. First a gentle drive (notice the fuel indicator shows 17km/L) than a bit more
Of me (fuel indicator shows about 15km/l) than comes the mad driver within me ………… (fuel indicator at 12km/l)
I did the zigzag, hard braking, hill climbing, and drive thru potholes and crossing a railway track without slowing down.
After doing all this, what can I say? It is not a brilliant car but quite a good car! Between Vios and City, City anytime!!!

If both Vios and City challenge at a traffic light I think Vios will zoom ahead of City for maybe 400-500meter and than
comes the ivetc power whereby city will overtake with an ease.

I think many went to test drive the new City with high expectation cause on paper it emphasize the extra horsepower, forgetting
it is still a 1.5cc car and it will never perform like a Ferrari. Having said that the power that the new city has is more
than sufficient and if you start using the pedal shift than you will know what I mean.
I could be very wrong on this but when I really floored the pedal I think I manage to go below 10s for 100km/h!

Exterior.
Vios is not all that bad also. From certain angle the car look good but overall it sucks especially the black ones.

Exterior wise for the New City, no question! Superb!

What about the doors? Hey closing all four doors for city produced similar sound but I think Vios doors gives a better
thumping sound.
Talking about the booth. City’s booth is humongous but Vios is smaller and pretty shallow.

Interior,
Hiya!, for a car close to 90K it should have not be like this but Vios also did not perform well in this area too.
I mean the plastics around. The one really disgusting are the Aircond knobs, it really looks cheap but when I used
It is not that bad after all. The one really sucks big time is the gear knob. I drove the E spec and I did not see any leather wrapping around it. It is a joke.

Otherwise I like the seats and its fabrics. Parking was ease, blind spots around the car was minimal and pretty comfortable too.

At the end of my drive, I felt I was not wrong at all by choosing this car than the vios instead.
Although a few good things are missing like the auto lock, remote trunk release and printed antenna but I can take it.
You gain some, and you loose some.

This is my sincere 2cents worth comment.

PMM is not a boring colour. The boring colour is what you see in the showroom. Try to bake under the sun and view it again. It'll be another colour. Then at night, try to see it again. What I can say is it's a multiple tones.

PMM is a multiple tones??? brows.gif Cool!!~~~ I'll go for PMM then. rclxm9.gif
But... Is PMM easy to maintain?? Coz i'll only be washing my car once a week. Lol!!~ sweat.gif

HM please improve on that lar or at least raise the level a bit.

And when I was going slightly above 105km/hr, I heard the engine roaring or more correctly "noising" ....now which one is that?

I read in today's Star newspaper that Bank Negara may lower the interest rate by another 0.5% next month. Does this mean that car loan interest rate may go down to 2.5% or lower? I am holding back my purchase of the new Honda City until interest rates go down to at least 2.5%. My patience may pay off. Can anyone tell me what is the car loan interest rate now?
*
my SA told me.. interest rate will DEFINITELY goes down on early 2009
even we book the car now... but our interest will follow the latest rate ( which is 2.5% mayb)
so don worry... jz go ahead n smash ur $ on new city biggrin.gif

Well, at least it has a footrest. Better than some cars..don't even have it.
But maybe i'll check it out again to see how lousy it is.

About the speed.. never made it > 80 kph 'cos of heavy traffic..so dunno what's that.
Very loud is it? How many RPMs?

ECOTINT is quite okay. One of the better brands out there.
Oh, RM200 cash voucher only? But do you have to buy the ECOTINT through him? I hope not.

The interest rates should go down in 2009. By how much, we dunno.
Right now it's about 2.9% Anyhow.. you'll only lock into the new rate once you get your loan
(ie. when you car is ready), no don't worry about it..

At day you'll see the colour is like Polished Metal Metallic and a bit like sparkle grey.
At night, you'll see the colour is like Nighthawk Black.
Multiple tones, isn't it?

PMM is easier to maintain than black. As long as you don't rub your body with your finger, nobody can see the dust on the car.

Maybe at the first glance, you'll find it's a boring colour and will regret.
But after 2nd glance, you'll start to love it.

Booked my E-spec PMM City 2 days before the official launch. I've seen the car at one of the show room before the launch & I could only express with the word "awesome". Never get the chance to test drive because it is forbidden then. The price tag is yet to confirm then. Normally I'll test drive & think twice if not gazillion times before the decide the purchase. But hey... impulsive buying behavior get the better side of myself sweat.gif

well said. to me its the best car around within this segment, some of the minor things that have been left out are not big deal to me, still embrace its beautifulness hehe. oh, i heard if install the auto/brake lock doesnt void the warranty. maybe someone can shed some light in this if planning to install it into the new city.

i manage to pay slight attention to the rpm, at 60kmph 1.8-2k rpm, at 80 about 2.5-2.8k rpm, 80kmp >2.8k rpm. it only noticeable when reach 3k or slightly above 80k rpm but still within my tolerance wink.gif

mmm i like the black city very much although kinda fed up with black color car (partly becos of the heat too). because my previous car everytime after washing it, sure some a$$ will come 'draw' some artistic curly lines with their key. so for my new black city, after polish + wax, most probably gonna leave it quite some time until very very dirty haha. my opinion, PMM is quite easy to maintain because its grey can camouflage the dust a bit, unless if put side by side with a clean PMM la laugh.gif

that time i just reached the hill top, thats why its higher than usual i suppose, probably still within the 4th gear. the rest are on normal road condition. hmm always wanted to do another test drive at evening...maybe till then i check again wink.gif

hmm i gave up my first booking...suppose there goes one lucky fler. anyway me too read from autocar jan issue that HM has decided to expand the production rate of city to 1.5k units per month. its good news for consumers to get the car faster...but...i kinda worry about the quality because it has becoming a mass products. good luck!

I See. Maybe when you test drive again, you can let us know
At 110kph.. what the rpm is. It should be < 3k rpm

So in the Autocar Jan issue, HM said they will increase production to 1.5k per month? Cool. Did they say proportion E-Spec and S-Spec?
What was their production before this? 1k per month?
