QUOTE(patryn33 @ Jul 19 2009, 10:23 PM) U got to get treated leather, they don't stinks... i'll not spend a lot on watch, coz their functions serve same other watches.. to know the time..ANONIMO leather straps are found in many of their diver watches. special patent processing method to let leather endure sweat and harsh sea water. then again they cost alot! very much depends on how much U are paying. |

I used to wear those RM30 Casio digital watch when i was a kid.. since then, i dun have a watch and never wwear one since then..
After collecting bullets for so many years, recently I decided to get a Tag Heuer with a budget around 3k. I had visited Watatime in Sunway Pyramid, however, I couldn't get a TH since the one that suits my budget are either running on quartz or the older models. For a budget of 3k, I would rather put my $$ on an automatic than a quartz (just my personal preference At last, saw this shop called The Moment and got my first ever automatic watch "Oris Williams Formula One Team Day Date 2008". Retail price was RM4100 but got 25% discount which equals to RM3075, just nice ![]() Not many people talking about Oris, its a very good brand as Oris only produce Automatic watches Love my watch, admire the movement, adore the ticking sound (summore got vanilla smell from the strap Loving it |

QUOTE(andrew1st @ Jul 20 2009, 07:17 PM) 1) how to differentiate new and old models? 1) only if u are familar with brands and products. Who will tell U flat out its out dated!2) check movement is at the back of the watch? 3) the newer the more expensive? zzz so many question >.< 2) no way to accurately find that out too. back of watch only tell U so much. if its swiss/jap movt.. if nothing welcome CHINA! not all China are bad, I only like seagull watches, maybe the best brand there. However they have quality issue. must buy from reliable dealer. This is the only 1 I know http://www.usseagull.com/ to learn about chinese stuff try here http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=146865 other brands like Kenneth cole, Alpha, Trias that contain a chinese movement. http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=207787 seeking a affordable watches, should try www.pmwf.com many ppl looking for reliable watches 3) depends on product lah. thats common sense. U are comparing apple and orange! new Proton vs 20yr old BMW??? This post has been edited by patryn33: Jul 21 2009, 03:26 AM |

U should read this! for me if its at 50% off get a inhouse movement montblanc nicolas rieussec!!! not some mod movement.Any comment on this series from Mont Blanc?? according to the reading below the steel on alligator strap retails at US$9700, and full steel bracelet at us$10K. display back U can see how pretty is the movement compared to a valjoux 7750! a usual timewalker chrono on leather retails at around us$6K. I wonder if those on valjoux 7750 have blue screws! for such expensive watch I kinda demand blue screws. http://www.iwmagazine.com/uploads/pdfs/december%202008.pdf montblanc nicolas rieussec review!! even its steel white, still a beauty! http://home.watchprosite.com/show-nblog.post/ti-423921/ some read on Timewalker Chrono u should read http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=102179 http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=200610 a timewater GMT Chrono review http://www.watchbizz.com/archive/wt_2008_05/WT_0508_170.pdf watches running on valjoux 7750. http://www.chronomaddox.com/valjoux_7750_engine.html ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by patryn33: Jul 21 2009, 10:12 PM |

QUOTE(Scissorshand @ Jul 21 2009, 10:34 PM) patry33, I thought your bonus big big man! aiming for a timewalker chrono retail in already US$6k, thats why I said add us$4K and hit the nicolas rieussec.Me not that filthy rich la, max i'd spent a good watch is around 6K after discount!! So yes, i'll be looking at ard 10k-13k retail price Mont Blanc lor. 50% US$3k vs US$5K not much diff and U are getting a lot more from a watch. if U are aiming for RM$10-13K then is like US$3.7K. can only get u time walker day (no chrono leh), entry level watch. also running on a Mod ETA workhorse. no Display back. just paying for brand only. mont blanc also moving towards making all inhouse movement in the near future aiming to move up the lux ladder. http://www.watchseller.com/motibigda.html ![]() or shop grey market, can definately get more than 50% discount! this Maurice Lacroix Master Reserve De Marche retails US$4200 now at US$1690. (its manual winding) http://www.collectorstime.com/new-watches.php Perrelet is a expensive brand (brand that invented automatic watch), a manufacture all inhouse movement. U can only afford the entry level watch. 3 Hands Date retails US$2690. I like the design Ref A1000/5 black face. U can only find a pic on webby. pretty low production if I recall correctly. only 1 place carry this brand. http://www.perrelet.com/fr/ QUOTE Precious Atelier SDN BHD neither not here nor there, might as well get a higher end of a mid range brand like longines. also uses ETA.Lot F35 / Explore Floor Starhill Gallery 181 Jalan Bukit Bingant 55100 Kuala Lumpur Can easily afford a Master power reserve, Chrono, GMT! at least with 1 complication and does have blue hands. dress watch like timewalker i dig blue! I rather go for a Power Reseve Indicator, U get to use it for freq than Chrono, GMT. http://www.authenticwatches.com/longines-m...n-bracelet.html bad thing with longines, movement are not decorate very nicely. Do have display back. http://www.prestigetime.com/item/Longines/...666.4.78.3.html or an Omega with co-axial escapement. don't have to service watch so often pretty much like every 10yrs. (can screw the display back in this case!) u do know most watches do need servicing every 4-5yrs. regular ETA with time, day. date maybe cost $200-300, complications cost more $$ and longer time. of course inhouse movement also means U can only get parts thru AD, servicing cost maybe higher if require part change. http://www.watchtime.com/2009/07/world-wat...-online-trends/ QUOTE Luxury: Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Breguet, Girard-Perregaux, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Franck Muller, Zenith, and IWC.
