question, apple claims the new unibody design allows for them to build thinner notebooks.

however, upon comparing the unibody macbook 13 and the older white macbook 13, the lower half of the laptops have the same thickness. how come?
*
dude cmon, the unibody lower half is still considerably slimmer. and they shaved off alot of thickness at the top half of the laptop.

1.08inches (MB white with lid close)

0.95inches (MB ALU with lid close)

IMHO any laptop that is 1inch or lower in terms of thickness is just awesome,it wont even be bulky in my bag unlike Acers and HPs

I think the size of the motherboard, CPU, GPU, keyboard and other units are still roughly the same size as the older model, so the lower half thickness still remain the same.

bro, getting one soon??? biggrin.gif
i'm thinking to get 1 too, after seeing this video... nice case and nice review.
but we hv to peel off the inviSkin, i don think the satin case can fit in with the inviSkin on, especially where the latch to hold between 2, bcoz of the inviSkin palm guard. Will it too thick to hold with the palm guard on? i dont feel like peel the palm guard off.
and i'm worry that the latch to hold the upper and bottom part will leave marks on the MBP itself..

Someone can try it and let me noe?? tongue.gif

guys, i heard all the macbooks and mbp have built-in motion sensor for the hard disk and was advised against buying a hard disk with motion senser as it will conflict with the one built-in. How true is this? Also, i heard that going 7200rpm will significantly boost performance, but how much of battery life do i have to sacrifice? thanks.

i think the lesser thickness is due to a thinner lid (using LED lighting instead of the old method)

where internals are more or less the same (the lower portion) the macbook white and the unibody macbook still have the same thickness - so i am questioning the logic of saying unibody=thinner laptops.

and yeah 1" laptops are cool smile.gif

actually the bottom case difference is about .05 difference which is quite visible with the naked eye,Unibody is more about the strength and toughness of the whole chassis rather than emphasizing on the thickness.

i dun intend to use it with sleeve, my old sleeve also kenot pakai already

bought it at 148 - 15%, kekekek dem kaw cheap
just now applied... sweating like shit
the corners skin must be remove, except for the rear black panel, the bottom base i din remove
for the top, i try with the skin on, abit hard to fit it, possible though, so i removed the skin
as for the palm rest area, doesnt affect, as mine has a hairline space to the edge, the clipping area is very thin as well, so palm rest skin intact

hooray, now i have a black mbp, but the apple logo aint that visible, as my brightness is adjust to low, unless i increase the brightness

with such a performance for the lappie, you cant make it even thinner, heat ventilation is an issue.

how about put it this way, UNIBODY create more space inside, but those port are standard size, cant make it thinner ever
Note: take a look on UNIBODY MB, the bottom curve part use up alot; ports are more upward compare to 1st gen Macbook. Thinner body frame.
