question, apple claims the new unibody design allows for them to build thinner notebooks.
however, upon comparing the unibody macbook 13 and the older white macbook 13, the lower half of the laptops have the same thickness. how come?

QUOTE(nimrod323 @ Feb 12 2009, 01:17 PM) dude cmon, the unibody lower half is still considerably slimmer. and they shaved off alot of thickness at the top half of the laptop. 1.08inches (MB white with lid close) 0.95inches (MB ALU with lid close) IMHO any laptop that is 1inch or lower in terms of thickness is just awesome,it wont even be bulky in my bag unlike Acers and HPs i think the lesser thickness is due to a thinner lid (using LED lighting instead of the old method) where internals are more or less the same (the lower portion) the macbook white and the unibody macbook still have the same thickness - so i am questioning the logic of saying unibody=thinner laptops. and yeah 1" laptops are cool

QUOTE(BlueBerry~ @ Mar 2 2009, 04:27 PM) Heres the deal. I am studying in Perth right now. Living in my aunt's place. I'm thinking of getting an iPod Touch. But they dont have WiFi in the house. Is it possible to set my MacBook Pro so that it use my broadband as wifi just for the Touch? if your mb pro is connected to the net by ethernet, i think you can use your mb pro's airport card to transmit wifi signal, go to internet sharing under sharing under sys pref.

QUOTE(diners @ Apr 9 2009, 07:20 PM) the trackpad is gorgeous! once u use it, u;ll hate the other trackpads... they're so small and so useless... one at most 2 fingers are going to work it but 4 for a macbook. haha. and larger space. i know the touchpad is awesome and all, but previously my preference is to disable tap-to-click due to crazy amount of false clicks when i accidentally brush against the pad. without tap-to-click on the new touchpad, dragging stuff around is hard as you need to press the pad then drag while continuing to press the pad. need lots of finger power it would be great if you can activate drag-lock without tap-to-click This post has been edited by lin00b: Apr 10 2009, 12:15 PM

QUOTE(preducer @ Jun 15 2009, 02:18 AM) why would u need a 3gb module ? 2 x 3gb = 6gb (max for umb) i plan to max the ram for my umb in the future when ddr3 become commonly cheap. more ram is never bad, esp when you plan to do lots of virtualization
