apologize for asking a noob queation..

if i purchase a maxis iphone 32gb with ivalue 1= RM1200+RM1990+RM200 = RM3390

so if i swipe with maybank cc with ez payment 12mnths, do they charged the cc with RM3390? or split to 12mnths then charge every mnth?

sorry if this is confusing.. need some clarification before i head down to maxis centre..

No one can give you answer for this question. Just wait for official announcement.

This is very personal question, it depends on how you use.
And it also depends on several factors: usage, coverage etc.

If you don't need data plan (you have wifi anywhere), you can choose to use any postpaid plan/prepaid just like normal phone.
If you need data plan, either sign up for maxis/digi/celcom data plan (you can't subscribe iphone plan without buying iphone); maxis have better coverage areas but may overcharge you if you exceed the quota; digi provide unlimited usage (no bill shock) but coverage is not as good as maxis. celcom i never use before no comment.

Check their respective websites for more information on data plans.

hey guys.

was planning to get an iphone4 soon (maybe next month or so).

for me, i don't really make much calls (less than 60minutes a month), mostly smses (average 300-500 a month to different telco) and mms (1 or none a month).

so i decided to purchase the iphone4 without digi or maxis plan because i think that its not worth to pick a plan as my usage isnt that beneficial for me.

therefore, i'd like to ask whether is my decision right?

and if i would purchase a non contract iphone4, should i get it at maxis centre or those shops that sell iphone? but if i purchase the iphone out of maxis, i wouldn't get the free one-year data. and as i've checked, shops that sell iphone usually sell at higher price rather than the RRP price which is rm2290 for 16gb and rm2690 for 32gb.

hope someone could help me to make a right choice. thanks smile.gif

ur usage seems quite high to me haha. like this lah, assuming u're using postpaid...how much is ur bill per month? take that number, add the cost of a data plan (u need one, dun tell me u dont) whichever u think is appropriate n total it up. take that number, multiply by 12 or 24 months, then add the RRP iphone price

next, browse maxis/digi website, find a plan that suits ur usage (focus on calls n sms). calculate how much u'll pay in the course of 12/24 months for everything

then just pick whichever is cheaper (assuming both network performance is good in ur area)

whoops! my bad. i only call out less than 60mins a month. sorry, typo error.
so yeah, i'm using the hotlink youth club prepaid plan which serves me very well. i use almost rm30 for a month. coz it's very cheap to call out and sms. so for me, i thought of keeping my prepaid plan and buy the iphone without contract. and maxis gives free data for a year when purchase at RRP without contract.

so is it wise to choose like that?

I'm currently on hotlink youthclub with iPhone free 500mb plan. I would say that this suits me best. A reload of RM100 could last me 3 months ~ half year. (I'm also light user, and I don't need data plan actually).

If you're on YouthClub, I suggest you to keep the plan cause its no longer available now.
